I don't normally leave reviews but feel I must do here. This is an awesome little cafe with the most accommodating staff you could wish for. If you're passing by, stop off for a full English. You won't be disappointed.

We stumbled across this cafe on our last day of holiday - looking for a breakfast. What an amazing find, fresh food - cooked well and friendly staff. Our breakfast was wonderful, we dined alfresco with a lovely view and the food was served nice and hot. The owner could not do enough for us and we wish her well for the coming season.

We went to Kevars for breakfast. The full English and damn the torpedoes. I think it was probably the best full English I've ever had (sorry Mum). My bacon was fried to a delicate crisp - hardly any pace gets this right, Kevars got it spot on, and all served with wonderful coffee and no charge for the extra toast I requested, (Well, you have to have something to mop up the juices at the end. That's the best bit!) 5 stars to Kevars for food, service, friendliness and for just being there. We will be back, going to try lunch next time.

Horrible, first fry up I've ever walked out on. I don't know how they managed to make the eggs foamy. Cheap industrial sausages, watery bean and nasty tea. Avoid at all cost!!! The breakfast was over £15!

Myself and family visited Friday morning (sept 2021) for a full English breakfast, we had researched and seen lovely picture of a ‘clean’ looking breakfast so chose to visit kevars. Unfortunately on the breakfast arriving the quality was lacking. Poor quality deep fried sausages, egg yolks hard and cold, bacon dirty as though it was fried in an old pan that hadn’t been washed. And missing a hash brown which was shown in the picture we had seen prior. The price was £7.50 which I consider reasonable for a fresh cooked hot breakfast but unfortunately this is not what we received. Such a shame as we had heard great things about kevars in the country but the quality was just not there for us.

This was an ideal break for us on a cycling trip, since we could sit outside with ample space for bikes. This allowed us to enjoy sea views. The menu was very varied, and all our food was very well done - I had a great fry up. Staff were extremely hospitable, even bringing out a parasol for us when the rain started. An absolute gem of a cafe that should not be missed

Booked a table turned up on time and no table ready. Been busy said a young waitress who just seemed to be going around in ever decreasing circles. If six people sitting at two tables is busy!!!!. Anyway sat down ordered and waited and waited. Well eventually 5 meals turn up. Looked very nice but the only problem was we had ordered for six. The sixth person had to wait nearly 20 minutes for their meal. No real apologies or explanation other than 'we have been busy'. We have been here several times before but never experienced such service.

Always loved this little gem of a cafe in Ryde, but is losing its appeal. Normally service with a smile but some sour faced rude women served us this saturday morning, much preferred the friendly lady who always made you feel welcome and you could laugh with. Drinks and breakfast were not even up to usual standard, rude remarks made by staff. Losing its appeal will probably be looking elsewhere for breakfasts, also no highchairs.

Visited earlier today. We asked for 2 toasties, a tea & a Diet Coke. Frustratingly, they don’t take card payment - but couldn’t see signs anywhere for this, else I would have gone to take money out first. The cafe appears newly opened & is spotlessly clean. However, it seemed a little excessive to wait almost 20 minutes for the toasties, for one of them come out on the wrong bread & with the mayo in a little pot on the side when I had asked for tuna mayo & sweetcorn on brown. Salad garnish also appeared tired & unappealing. They weren’t busy & it seemed to take ages to be served. It was late on in their serving day (they close at 2), so perhaps this contributed to their laidback service. Shame.

Have just read the previous review and would have to totally disagree! Have been a regular visitor to this establishment since it opened 12 years ago, the tables and chairs have always been set out in the same diamond pattern which allows plenty of space to move around without bumping into other diners. It has always closed at 2pm due to its upper high street location but if people come in they're open and I've never felt hurried out. The lighting has been changed in the last couple of weeks according to the owner due to people saying it was not bright enough! Can't please everyone but I have always found the staff more than accommodating bright and friendly happy to tweak an order often at no extra cost. The food is always freshly cooked to order and their homemade soup is to die for! Finally toilets are spotlessly clean you could eat your meal in them!

It used to be so much better. I used to be a regular viisitor but now they close at 2pm so you have to be a true morning person to even get in there. My idea of afternoon tea is around 4 to 4.30 pm, so there is no such thing as afternoon tea here anymore. I don't like the regimental layout of the tables or the too bright lights either. Not at all relaxing and it used to be quite pleasant when they used to close at 5.pm and the interior was not so regimented as it is now.

I went in for a cooked breakfast and selected the 'Full Monty' for £5.95. I was immediately asked if I wanted any extras. Umm... shouldn't a Full Monty be full? The menu made it clear that the hash browns, bubble and squeak and black pudding were each hidden behind a 95p paywall. When the breakfast arrived it was disappointing. A single rasher of bacon (I can only assume that they had run out). Two very, very cheap quality sausages, beans, mushrooms, a thinned tomato and a single fried egg. Toast was included along with coffee which was okay. All in all, at this price, I would expect either better quality ingredients or more items. You can easily get better value breakfasts in Ryde. Staff were friendly but nothing made me want to come back.

We recently visited on holiday to IOW & visited Kevars for lunch. The quality of the food was excellent. I had a cheese & mushroom omlette with chips which was superbly cooked. The staff were very freindly & helpful & if we visit Ryde again would certainly go back.

Always my first choice of cafe in Ryde, great service, lovely food, happy atmosphere, family friendly, wheelchair accessible. Highly recommended.

This place is famous for its views across the Solent, but only in the summer. In the winter the windows are always steamed up giving you near to no visibility outside. We didn’t eat but the menu looks good and average prices for the area. Drinks were more expensive than the Seaview Hotel just around the corner. +£1 per drink on gin & tonic. It was November on a Friday evening and all tables were reserved. We did sit at one of their best tables for our drink ‘Captain Ted’s Table’ and it was wobbly as hell. Felt like it was going to give way at any time. Come on this is an easy fix.

Nice busy cafe, lots going on with a lot of choice to make your own baguette. Popular with the locals for lunch who fancy an upgrade from a morrisons meal deal.

We have been here many times over the years and looked forward to our visit again this year. What a disappointment. We had a cream tea which consisted of a pot of tea, 2 scones, butter, cream and jam. The jam and cream pots were half the size they used to be and the butter was barely there, adequate enough for one scone but certainly not two. The jug of milk supplied did not have enough milk for one cup of tea and we had to ask for extra. I do not drink tea and asked for my tea to be substituted with coffee, big mistake, it was undrinkable. Went we went to pay we were told 'cash only' and I was lucky to find some cash in the bottom of my bag. This should be made clear when you enter and before you order as a lot of people do not carry cash. Our experience was so different to every other visit we wondered if there were 'new owners' but overheard the owner telling other visitors that she had been there 17 years. Sadly will not be returning.

Remember coming to this pub with my family when I was ten so had to come back 40 odd years later. Disappointed the coffin by the door was gone 😂 but it was a real highlight of our trip. Our dogs were welcomed and fussed over and the food at lunch was amazing, so tasty. Really friendly staff and all the facilities were spotless. Fantastic views over the garden too. A lovely trip down memory lane
