Stopped here for a morning snack and coffee. The staff are friendly and know what they have and what they are talking about in terms of what they have to offer. A relax friendly and warm atmosphere; stop, enjoy, relax and leave refreshed.

Small portions at a high price. We ate at the pub on a Saturday lunch time. My fellow walker had a smoked mackerel and beetroot salad which was basically a starter portion for £16. I had a small portion of smoked haddock served with a decent portion of new potatoes but with a little salad in a tiny bowl. There's a balance to be struck between presentation and serving enough food, so Chef: increase the portions and ditch the little salad bowls. We were told that there was no outside table service but the family next to us had their orders taken at the table.

Being left in the lurch by a change in plans put us into So India for Sunday Lunch. Sunday Lunch was always very hectic at country pubs with indifferent service and long waits for sometimes indifferent food - so we thought we'd try lunch with a hint of spice. This visit was perhaps the forth or fifth visit we have made, usually these are on weekday evenings. Sunday lunch at an Indian tend to come in two forms quiet or chaos. Usually the latter s the preserve of normal Banquet time. Fortunately So India has it's banquet in the evening on Sunday so we had the entire restaurant to ourselves! Our menu choices arrived reasonably briskly and both were definitely familiar Indian spiced fayre. As ever we enjoyed our meal and service was reasonably attentive. With so few guests it was pleasing that the staff were unobtrusive, nothing worse than being hovered over by your waiting staff. All in all our Sunday Lunch was a success and we rose replete with the warmth of the spices on our lips and a comfortable swell to our stomachs - it may have been a very quiet lunch but after a busy week meeting friends it was nice to have some quiet time to recuperate. We will be back as So India is ideally placed for Lunch or Dinner. If you pass through Pulborough and find yourselves wondering what So India is like - why not stop next time you drive by and find out. But don't go on Monday as they are closed...

We were visiting the area for a house viewing, and called in on the off chance of getting a table without booking. We were met by apparently friendly staff who took us to a table. I asked for a gluten free menu, are you gluten free or coeliac? he asked. Once I said coeliac the attitude changed, I could have had gluten free if I’d booked in advance, the chef was covered with flour, so no, not even a soup! I was made to feel very uncomfortable and the whole place went quiet over it. My friends had a lunch but I had a bag of crisps. I tried to stay cheerful and make a joke of it. Everyone I have spoken to since has said, ‘ what not even a soup? Couldn’t the chef even wash his hands to open a tin? How difficult is it to have a gluten free roll in the freezer in case. I’m sad we are moving around here and already found a plac3 to avoid like the plague.

First time customers, and very impressed, Jane was super chirpy an' chatty, and we love that, bein' Northern Irish and Italian 😃 The food was lovely, and the call back to let us know the food was ready was reeeeally appreciated, even on an evening when they were super busy ! Will definitely be returning, thanks again Jane !

Cafe is very basic so adjust your expectations. I dropped in for tea whilst leaving my car to be washed by the staff. Appalling job leaving the car with filthy smears on the paintwork and obviously poorly wiped down at the end with so much missed. The tea was watery and they used full fat milk despite me saying I didn’t want that so tasted nothing like tea. Questionable hygiene in evidence so I avoided ordering food. Cannot recommend so avoid the cafe and car wash as they’re part of the same organisation.

Lovely setting but I would think twice about eating here again due to costs. I ordered a Caesar Salad. The bowl it arrived on was the size of a starter so for £15.95 I expected something special, sadly I was met with a few pieces of tough chicken, three croutons & zero Parmesan. Come on guys.. really?! Two young lads attending tables very polite, just a shame about the portion sizes.

Awful service. Ordered at 8:30pm.Said order would be delivered at 9:42pm. Phoned up at 10pm they said he should be there any minute. My son went to pick up his friend from the station and came back. Still no sign. Rang up at 10:20pm said it still hadn't arrived and the delivery driver said he was just leaving. If they hadn't lied I would have got my son to pick it up on his way back. It's now gone 10:30pm and still no sign of it. Hungry and annoyed and the shops are shut now too! Over £60 for the privilege... Won't be ordering again. Now over 2 hours since ordering and no sign... It's a 10 minute drive and an hour after the time stated for delivery.
