We approached Architectural Plants Ltd to advise us on how to deal with the planting layout for our new build garden. Our designer, Amy, planned our garden around trees and shrubs. It is only now, after they have been planted, can we really appreciate her expertise. The installation was excellent. Staff were very experienced. They came, dug, planted, irrigated and left the site immaculate. Nothing was too much trouble. Follow up plant care included advice on feeding, watering , mulching and pruning. We would thoroughly recommend them.

It has been a pleasure working with this company. They have some excellent people where nothing is too much trouble. We contacted them to find someone who could give us an interesting garden in a new build house. We met with Zac who came up with a simple, low maintenance design which met our needs perfectly. The installation team, led by Freddie were great, their attention to detail was superb. They left us with a beautiful new garden. It was lovely to meet people who are passionate about their work. We would recommend this company every time.

We met with many garden designers before we found Architectural Plants. We're so glad that we waited for the right fit! Our end to end experience was excellent. From our visits to their beautiful nursery, to working with the design/installation team, and even resolving a few challenges - everything was top notch. Thank you Debbie, Freddie, Mattia and the extended team. We're so happy with your work and our garden.

The service I received by Sophie was short of amazing. Not only was she able to answer my queries about a Pinus Mugo I was looking to source. I was provided with options and images, plus she kindly resent it all when my WhatsApp timed message setting stupidly deleted them. The service was amazing and I was very impressed given this was the first time I had contacted them.

We had an unsightly gap along our north facing fence that needed filling, so after making an appointment and talking to Sarah about what we wanted, she helped us find the perfect plant. She was considerate to our specification, recommended and showed us a variety of suitable plants, and could answer all our questions. Also wanting delivery and planting, we thought we were in for a bit of a wait, however the delivery team contacted me for a much closer delivery and planting date, which I was very happy about. The chaps that came out and planted our new Eriobotrya Japonica were super professional, efficient, tidy and knowledgeable. An all around great service by all we dealt with. We’ll defiantly be back!

The Architectural Plant nursery is simply amazing. Plants of every different type, size and origin, sourced, grown and nurtured by knowledgeable and helpful people. Full marks particularly to garden designer Amy who skillfully planned the ideal planting solution for a rather neglected area of our garden and then arranged for one of her friendly efficient teams to come along and save us the job of planting everything! We live in Cambridge but had used Architectural Plants for an area of our garden when we lived in West Sussex. Ŵe were greatly assisted with the selection of trees for our courtyard and first floor terrace, suitable to the conditions and climate. Having selected and purchased our trees we had been told to expect delivery in October or November but were lucky enough to have the delivery scheduled for early September. The terrace and courtyard are such that the 1m square pots and 7 trees needed to be craned over the house. The whole operation was done with safety in mind and the care and attention with which the trees were sited and potted could not be faulted. A watering system was put in to ensure the trees thrived and everyone involved was courteous and conscientious. I cannot recommend Guy and his team more highly and will be using them again for our upper terrace and remainder of the first floor terrace.

Architectural Plants is basically perfect 👌 We used to shop by mail order punctuated by the occasional trip from South London to various Sussex locations 20 years ago but strangely randomly they and we have landed up living 5 miles apart. Our garden enjoys agapanthus, olive, myrtle and many tropical beauties from this phenomenal nursery where the love of plants shines through. My husband has attended both the creative maintenence and niwaka pruning courses here and loved them both.

Dogs welcome, so a great venue to visit with my daughter and her dogs for a coffee and cake or a light lunch. For cosiness try to bag a seat in the wooden chalet, but if you wrap up warm in winter, the cafe tables in the nursery greenhouse offer a light and airy space.Menu is stylish and contemporary at a very reasonable price. The food is delicious and wholesome, the coffee very good and they will tweak the menu a little to accommodate, say a child, who wants a glass of milk with their lunch.A word to the wise; card or contactless payments only, no cash.

There are certainly a lot of good reviews regarding this establishment, I'm sorry but my experience isn't in agreement. On my first visit there I ordered two coffees and put £10 in payment on the counter. It was refused as it was pointed out they don't accept cash! What? Embarrassingly, I had to ask my friend to pay using his card. I've travelled in fourteen countries in the last twelve months and I NEVER came across any shop/café etc ever refusing cash. Is this something new? Anyway, the coffee was very expensive £6 something for two! They got the order wrong and served up, in my case, luke warm and without a saucer! Well, I personally would never return or recommend. Perhaps I was unlucky, but if my cash is not acceptable, then that's a very good reason to go elsewhere!

This is a nursery unlike any other I've seen, around every corner you'll see another plant to make you go, "wow". There are pricepoints to suit all budgets but you will need to save up your pennies for the big impressive statement pieces. They have a very useful traffic light system for hardiness and provide a lot of information about the plants for sale. The café is very cosy inside and although it is too chilly now to use the outside seating (despite the warm blankets provided) it's clear to see it would be a lovely spot to enjoy in the summer. There were two unisex toilets of a decent size in case you're caught short.

Quite a good range of good-quality snacks and very light lunch meals, coffee and tea. Reasonable service, fairly quick and servers willing and sociable. Indoor section is very cramped (and can feel quite humid), though an extension is in progress; outdoor section is set among the (ferociously expensive!) plants - a nice touch with pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Prices definitely on the steep side, though, as seems normal with most of these contemporary cafes. The layout of the nursery itself is very ingenious and versatile.

I have wanted to visit this unique establishment ever since I became interested in exotic plants about 20 years ago. Fortunately, last week my Wife and I were on holiday in Sussex from our home in Essex, so we took the opportunity. We were NOT disappointed. In fact this very fine and continuing to be enlarged exotic centre EXCEEDED my high expectations. It is superb, and very clean and tidy, with toilets that are a pleasure to sit in.The colonial style centrepiece of the Design Office is a splendid building, and the nearby café with inside and outside seating, provides a very relaxing environment in which to enjoy the tasty refreshment amongst the “jungle” type plants. The immaculate polytunnels which are open to visitors, are huge with safe, flat concrete paths, and all filled with immaculate, well labelled plants, greatly assisted by the traffic light hardiness system. Very useful information boards are on site, with leaflets being freely available.Fortunately, there is NONE of the usual, overbearing, garden centre tat here.I was pleased to meet the well built, industrious Guy Watts who now runs the business with the founder Angus White, when we called in briefly, just before closing, the day before our much longer visit. All the staff that we met were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable which added to our enjoyable experience. In addition, we met and chatted to the skilful artist, David Klein who was chiselling a horse sculpture. From his outdoor covered working area, we continued walking, upwards to the lake and sat down briefly on the most welcome seat whilst “soaking up” the splendid view. The site is easily found being on Stane Street, North Heath, Pulborough, RH20 1DJ.There is a useful introductory short video on the Architectural Plants' web site which gives an indication of the layout of the large site. Many thanks to Angus, Guy and your splendid Team for your efforts in creating and maintaining THIS EXOTIC MASTERPIECE.

We only had a lovely cup of loose leaf tea and a slice of scruffy cake, as we were on our way home. Great tea and cake, served to our table. The plants do take centre stage and are very well cared for and in excellent condition. Yes they are more expensive than your chain garden centre, but the size and quality justifies this.
