The best restaurants in Cherwell South East

Ordered by phone for collection, collected & paid, got home to eat, tasted, no tomato/pizza sauce on the Margarita Pizza, & fries had pepper on! both tasted awful, finally when they answered the phone I had driven back into Banbury to return, not paying £25.99 for shite food, they did refund, but ungraciously, no offer of replacement food or anything so now no dinner! and really too late to eat very unhappy Previously regular customer

Great pub in a pretty village with excellent food. Background music a bit loud for my taste but overall thoroughly recommend.

Very relaxed, as is the service but the food is decent and it's in a good spot.

Had a very worst veg rolls smells like a rotten,oil smelling very bad 😔 ,seems like using same oil since many months or years I don't know.

Great place for a game of pool and a pint, good to watch the football too

Do not go here absolutely terrible! Just got a small cod and chips moments ago and had to walk back in and throw the entire thing in the bid the fish was oily and soggy no crispy batter just completely mush and fell apart

Perfect getaway from jungle like London to have some peacefulness Love the building like from some old robin hood movie 😝 Lovely room very clean Gorgeous smell Beautiful to wake up to the sounds of Birds Had a mysterious sleep but that had to do something to do with Rollright Stones visit (nice energy) Very Friendly Staff and everyone one in the area And Big Thank You to Kirsty behind at the bar :) had a lovely chat before leaving I will call T Gate Hangs High I like to send a book to Cirsty and some links It’s The Tequila Man 😂 Thank you Everyone Highly recommend

Fantastic food and great service from the chaps behind the counter. The pizzas are delicious, you can tell they're cooked fresh.

Great village pub with lovely staff who truly care about their customers. We go fortnightly for trivia which fills the pub with laughter.

Visited for the first time in several years not really knowing what to expect and was amazing. Although menu was missing the seafood all other items were prepared and cooked beautifully. Tables were clean and regularly cleared of empty glasses, plates etc. Atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful. Saw youngsters sipping coffee and drinking water instead of beer which to me said everything about the atmosphere. Lovely place and staff and I'll definitely visit again x
