Banbury Cross Inn in Cherwell

Had a great time here on Friday 15th March with music and karaoke.

Big pub inside and out, would be great in the warmer months to sit out on a late summer's evening. Service was quick, plenty of lager's to choose from, but only 1 beer and that was John Smith's, being an ale drinker I had no choice, shame as it was a lively place. So the big question would I go back? I won't unless they had a better choice of beers and maybe an ale on.

Really enjoy this venue... I am from London and stay in Banbury sometimes. They show live sports events and have live music and Disco's. Check the website to see what is on. There is music related artwork on the walls which contributes to the really good atmosphere. The outdoor area is now covered so you stay even when the weather takes a turn for worse. A big thumbs up for the management and staff for a job well done.

Great garden always nice atmosphere

Very expensive. £8.40 for a small bottle beer and pint lime and lemonade. That is £2 more then a pint of draft and pint of lime and lemonade in my local. Ignore the food rating, cannot comment, did not have any.

I always try to get to “The Cross” to see old pals whenever in Banbury.

Atmosphere great and karaoke entertaining. However, miserable older lady cleared my baileys, from the bar and said it was empty!! No it wasn't ... the ice covered it before I started drinking it!! Such a shame to spoil a good evening ... Needless to say I didn't buy another drink after that so the bar lost out for sure!!

Fantastic pub. Went with our band and played in the courtyard. There was a great crowd. Doormen are a bit trigger happy, but apart from that, it is a great place. I will be back in the very near future, either with the band or as a punter! Must also point out that the Gents is probably the cleanest in town. It makes a refreshing change!! Well done to whoever is in charge of that.

Haven't been here for 20+years. Like what I saw, but my son insists the pool table not level, hence 4 stars.

Love this place my second home staff are so friendly and Gail and dave are such lovely people and friends karaoke on Friday night is fantastic and Saturday nights are fantastic too lots of bands and disco new year eve party's as well can't recommend this enough

Vile owner. Will never ever go in here again. The owner needs to go on anger management course!! I showed ur bar staff I had money in my account!!! Sometimes mate ur card declines even though you have money in it!!! The way u ripped the drink my friend had out of her hand which she had already paid for is disgusting!!! Ur need anger management. We had such a fun night out with my team! Karaoke was amazing!!!

Lovely and friendly staff and management in this cute pub, lovely atmosphere, oh yes and clean toilets lol (my pet peeve lol)

We found this little gem whilst staying for the weekend in banbury and returned all weekend it became a firm favourite! Great staff and very friendly and welcoming, buzzing pub with great entertainment and friendly customers, we had some right laughs and met some great people, the soul lounge at top of garden was fab on the Saturday night and also stays open when pub closes. They do great events and tribute nights too. Glad we found this place and if ever in banbury will return :)

As requested, to make my rating "valuable" in the eyes of the owner I'll just quickly sum it up. The selection of beers is limited to subpar and mediocre ones. Place lacks character. It's just another average pub in a town full of average pubs. Therefor it's really nothing special. It's just OK. I imagine people of older age do enjoy these kind of places but it's a little underwhelming for me. And a three star review is still a positive review mind you, not a negative one.

A hidden gem in the town. Authentic vibe with an amazing atmosphere. Well worth a vist.

Ok pub. No food but had an Elvis tribute on in the back yard which was great fun.

I like to come here as the bar tender lady Kayley is famous for being on television. She is just as funny in real life as you see on the TV and she makes the place warm and cosy with her infectious laugh. I don't mean C19 infection but infectious in a good way.

Pleasantly surprised on a Friday night. Nice large garden patio area. I really liked it in this place and would visit again. Friendly doormen and staff and seemed like a nice crowd.

Difficult to fully rate a pub in these partial service times but that considered, this boozer is making big efforts to deliver pints with a smile.

It's a very good sports bar with 5 or more TVs. Plenty of things to do etc pool, darts, Arnt-saley, And the soul music 🎶 is fantastic. So come along and see for yourself. And the staff are very friendly and helpful The customer service is excellent. Its a shame that its not Open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday lunchtime because its the only time I can get in to Banbury. ☹️

Quiet town pub with Large screen for sporting events .

A PROPER pub! Not too many of these still around, but great beers, great service, sky football on the tv's and a great friendly atmosphere! Will definitely return and highly recommend! Support this pub so we don't lose another little gem!

Poor range of beers; the one real ale was off, and there wasn't much else I liked apart from a stout which I don't normally drink. Wasn't any food, as far as I could tell. Some piped music was insipid pop rubbish. Nice interior though

Based on reviews, we thought we would try this self proclaimed 'gastropub'. Unfortunately the sign outside informed us that "food will not be served in the foreseeable future" Oops! :(
