Very nice atmosphere, food (one of the nicest curries I've had) & great service. Meal: 3 popudums with chutney, 2 curries, 1 pilau rice, garlic naan & 2 pints of cobra - £57 Would recommend 👍

Friendly, imaginative menu. Food was good with lots of fresh ingredients and chopped herbs. Great balance of spices Interior might be more inviting if not overlit.

Absolutely delicious! We called in on Saturday mainly because it's located at the bottom of the road we were staying on and we're so glad we did. The food was wonderful, not at all heavy or greasy like some Indian food can be. The wait staff were diligent and efficient. The only negative is that we live miles away.

We are new to the area and opted to try VOUJONS as our first Indian restaurant… WOW!! That proved to be a great choice! Lovely food, service and atmosphere at a great price… thanks especially to Anwar who spent a lot of time making us feel special, we will definitely be making this our regular Indian restaurant 👍👍

We have been to Voujon before. This time we were celebrating a birthday. The staff are friendly, the food is great,and the atmosphere very relaxed. Can't fault this place!

We go away with work all over the country and all ways have a curry. We have had a lot of curries from all over the country. This is another fantastic curry house to add to our list of great ones . This was so tasty and plenty of food ....good size portions...Great Keema rice with lots of meat in it and lots of chicken in my Assame Jalfrezi ....Really really tasty .....Ive never had a Keema nan thats been so packed with meat ....lots of poppadoms and chutney Good parking, quick service, friendly staff , This was a take away but the curry house was nice inside. Ordered online, paid by phone. Food was delicious, hot and well-packaged for take-away, ready a few minutes later than estimatedtime, but worth the few minutes. The flavours were fragrant and lovely. Background on the phone was noisy, so glad companion went to pick up. Will order again.

As a regular here and a solo visitor , was not allowed to choose a table for the second time of visiting , (they are booked) which was said last time , and nobody turned up . Lack of concern completely when I said I’ll leave . Bigger picture sometimes

Arrived just before opening time, was welcomed in. Sat down and ordered drinks and poppadoms while looking at the menu. The power went out! So we sat for another 30 minutes and ate some more poppadoms and drank some more wine. The conversation and apologies flowed as well as the wine. The staff were so apologetic and welcoming in the event. What a great place and lovely people. No harm as we will be back very soon. Wouldn’t let us pay for anything.

I keep going, although the food this time was a disappointment. The staff are really nice.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal last night celebrating my son’s 21st. It was really busy but the staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, everyone enjoyed theirs. Will be back soon!

I don't often order takeouts now as generally can't afford them However Tuesday banquet to collect is excellent value for money! Ordered via WhatsApp before they opened, really helpful staff and made it clear what I was ordering etc. I'd forgot to add an item after they had done the bill, they kindly added it on for free! When we sat down to eat it all it' was still piping hot, loads of it and tasted amazingly good. I've never had a bad meal from here - definitely my go to for a treat. Thanks team Voujon xx

Summed up in one word ' Superb ' ! The owners here have cracked it in all areas - food, atmosphere, service, decor, drinks list. They also make you feel very welcome. A 10/10 from me.

Great food, consistently good, excellant service from owner and staff.

I'm no expert, but I reckon this must be one of the best places in Banbury to get a curry. I've been coming here for years and it's never disappointed. Ask my wife - she'll agree. Once, a few years ago, while we were eating, we listened as two young ladies at a nearby table ordered their meals. Nothing to mention except that they each wanted 10 poppadoms to go with their food. Not to share; 10 each. 10! I still can't believe it, all these years later. Anyway, great curry house.

Went for a last minute curry at Voujon and was glad we did, the food was really flavoursome. The starter had 3 dip's with it, which was a nice touch.

Very tasty meal was consumed. Portion size was spot on, not too much as in some restaurants. Peshwari Naan was delicious 😋

Absolutely one of the nicest Indian meals I've ever had, very tasty food, fantastic attentive service, lovely staff to chat to, wouldn't hesitate to recommend and visit again when we are in the area! 10/10

The Restaurant didn't recognise our booking even though it had be done online...I had requested the booking in the morning and was only advise it had been accepted late afternoon. However once over that small hurdle we noticed that the place was packed...Front, back and upstairs but they did manage to accommodate us upstairs. Food took roughly an hour and half to be served but we knew it was going to be a wait as we heard other table complaining they had been waiting nearly 2 hours .. However I must say it was well worth the wait, the food was amazing and while my first thought was wow you don't get a lot after i had eaten I quickly realised it was just enough and I didn't finish with my usual bloated feeling All in all Good was Amazing, Good value for money costing £80 for 3 people considering there was also 3 rounds of drinks in that cost I would recommend eating here definitely but please call and book first.

Food was good last time, so we came back, ordered online, and when we got to the restaurant, were told the order hadn’t printed. We were told they would put it together in 30 mins. An hour later, when asking where the food was, my partner was told “yeah it’s coming darling alright…” Not exactly ideal. They did give us a bottle of wine, and they didn’t charge us, so it was probably a fair outcome, but sitting there waiting for a 75 mins for a takeaway sort of ruined the night to be honest. Food was still delicious, and would still go back, mistakes happen, but it was just a shame.

I had my wedding at this restaurant, I am outstanded at the service, the staff, the quality of this restaurant, whatever you wanted they make sure you get it, nothing was too much trouble. And the quality of yhe food is just outstanding, you just know the minute you taste it is freshly prepared and made with love. The time and effort they put into the food and making sure that every customer is happy. Made my day even better than expected, thank you so much ❤️❤️

Chaos frankly, booked table days in advance, restaurant was heaving staff running around trying to placate clients who were having their new year plans completely destroyed by the delays in service. Its a real shame the restaurant continue to overbook their capacity because as always the food is great just complete lack of proper organisation.Eventually requested food packaged for takeaway which bizarrely then came quite quickly manager offered discount which was appreciated but frankly this should not have been necessary and completely ruined our new year plans.While waiting for the takeaway spoke to others who indicated this experience was not exceptional, the management team need to consider this if they care about customer experience.Caution advised when eating there.

Had a meal with three work colleagues. Was given the bill but when i went to pay, I was told I hadnt been charged enough. The xmas menu was a set price and I know we didnt drink enough to add the extra to the bill that was demanded. When I complained we were offered vouchers. I for one will not be visiting this restaurant again!There are better alternatives

We have been using voujon for a number of years now and I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else! The food is always piping hot and fresh, the restaurant itself is laid out lovely and always presented very well! No matter how many people they are catering for the staff are always friendly and attentive! Lovely experience all round!

We have been coming to this restaurant for a number of years because the food is, when it arrives, is very good; and so, we have put up with the long wait for this to happen. Last night, however, we left after waiting for over an hour and putting up with some fairly offhand treatment by the lady doing front of house (tallish, black hair) who took the view that we should be satisfied with her claim that matters were beyond her control because the restaurant was busy (which it wasn’t) and all the food is “cooked fresh”. I should add that the papadums were rubbery (3 other tables complained about this) and we had already had to wait for 30 minutes for a table we had booked at 8 pm (it seems that the people who had our table had stayed longer than expected). I accept that the above will read like an irrational rant, but I view myself and the people I hope to dine with as reasonable people and it was the lamentable service at every level at Voujon which was unreasonable. We were not the only table to abandon ship that night.

Took our friends here for the first time and they loved it, great surroundings great service with great food will be returning very soon. I do find this a great place for having a nice meal with the ability to have a good chat.

Went as won £30 vouchers in raffle. We were seated at our booked table that had not been laid. Had to ask for a drink 3 times before they arrived. Popadoms finally arrived with salad - but had to ASK for a fork to eat it with. We had to share the fork. Starters arrived very nice and with cutlery. I asked the waiter for a napkin, but he didn’t understand what I meant so he asked another waiter to come over. Main meal arrived after we had been there for 2 hours - so a long night by the time we had finished eating. Staff were friendly and apologetic but the evening was spoilt. We saw a table of about 7 people complain that they had waited for 2 .5 hours for their main meal. Also a group of lads had waited 1.5 hours with just a starter and got so fed up of waiting they walked out. Very unhappy customers. Restaurant was packed to the brim and takeaways were flying out of the kitchen. If they are short staffed don’t take so many bookings/ orders !! Won’t be back. Utter chaos

Went this evening for a meal and the service was terrible took 4 attempts to get a glass of water and after waiting for about an hour and half for our main course ended up leaving hungry. Offered nothing in a way of an apology and charged full price for what we did have. Won’t be going back!

We were staying in Banbury for a week's holiday and discovered Voujon. We enjoyed the quality of the food and the excellent staff so much we ate here three times in that week. Large portions, well presented, very tasty. Staff so friendly as is owner. Would highly recommend.

A fabulous feast of food!Tuesday night is a brilliant evening to sample this fine restaurant, they have a banquet special where you can enjoy any starter, any main, a veg side dish (between 2) and either any rice or a naan for £14.99. *there are a couple of restrictions or surpluses but mostly a free choice.My partner and I enjoyed:Poppadoms and pickles (£4.50 extra for 2 each)Vegetable samosasChicken ChaatVoujon Special RoganChasni TikkaSaag AluuPlain NaanI would say it was all packed with flavour, had a slight kick to it but was not overly spicy. The table next to us asked for spicy and the guys were in tears so I would assume you can get what you want you only need to ask. I personally prefer to enjoy my, not so spicy, meal!Service was a good pace, lots of attentive staff and the decor is very nice. The toilets are kept clean and I would say location wise its perfect with a car park outside and a short walk from the town centre.100% going to return and will be reccomending to many others. Blown away by this place

From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were treated like VIP's and each member of staff on duty that evening worked hard to ensure we had the best experience. The staff were so pleasant and natural and are a great credit to Anwar who I believe to be the owner. He to was attentive and couldn't do enough to help make our evening special.As for the food, it was quite simply one of the best meals, of any style I've had.I rate this restaurant highly recommended.Thank you to all the team at Voujon. x

First time here and would happily go back. Excellent food, many different dishes to the norm was good to see. Good service. I’ll skip the Bangla beer next time (weird taste – to me) but otherwise really good.

Our first restaurant visit for over a year and one we’d been looking forward to for a long time. Voujon was very busy with a combination of takeaway orders and diners at tables.And there’s the first problem, there just wasn’t enough staff to cope and it took a long time to get menus/drinks/reminders as to where our drinks were.But that’s a minor issue compared to the quality of the food - it was just bland and lacking in flavour. The quantity was good but it just didn’t taste “fresh” compared to what we’ve had on previous visits. Overall, it was very disappointing.One side dish didn’t arrive, we reminded the waitress and she said she’d investigate but it never appeared.Something’s not right at Voujon, let’s hope they get their act together soon or will it suffer the same fate as the V Lounge next door?

Home delivered and lovely and hot well packed and most importantly tasted superb my go to curry house

Decided to try somewhere different to a regular Indian in these lockdown times.Disappointing. 2 mains, 2 sides with rice and a naan. Basically, no flavour. My own main was Voujon special Rogan Josh. Whilst there was plenty of meat, flavour of any sort was absent. It was as if the meat had been pan fried and a tin of chopped tomatoes poured on top. Matar paneer was also lacking any flavour. Rice and naan passable, main dishes in plastic trays which I don’t particularly like. Meals warm despite drive out to a village. Won’t rush back.

Takeaway service New Year eve, total chaos. Restaurant closed so you would have thought takeaway would be on time. Food ordered for 7pm but had wait, no update or reason just busy, I would not recommend if ordering takeaway. I was 1 of 7 waiting over an hour+.

Reading a few reviews and surprised by them i can never fault them for the great food and the great service,in this case we phoned nice and early and was told that the order would be delivered at around 6.15 and it did with friendly smile and piping hot food which was lovely, many thanks again

We arrived at 7 and ordered promptly. The first set of popadoms that arrived were so stale that we sent them back. The mains arrived at 21:30. The waiters didn’t update us at any point and whenever we asked they didn’t say anything. The takeaway orders kept flying past though - top tip: sit down and order, then reorder a takeaway to your table, it will arrive sooner. When the food arrived it was basic, cooked in a hurry, none of the ingredients mixed in (we can see the tin of chopped tomatoes!).We asked for money off the bill due to the wait and they offered £10 off £150 with a shrug. A word of explanation sooner would’ve gone a long way, and only the waiter at the end explained they have two chefs and three tables all sat down around 19:30. Who would’ve thought a Saturday would be busy? Reading a couple of these reviews (too late, sadly!) this appears to be a problem they encounter each weekend and have yet to find a solution. At least they stayed open past the 10pm curfew to let us finish our meals...

Booked for 7.30-8 and arrived at 7.40. Got drinks quickly but then had to wait a long time to order food, and it didn't arrive until 9.40. Sadly, everyone else in the restaurant had the same experience and it became a joke between us all! The food wasn't worth the wait, very average. And by this point we had passed the point of hunger anyway and had to leave due to other plans so we took it home with us! Such a waste of time! They said sorry in passing but it was hardly acknowledged. I asked for drinks to be knocked off the bill (which we also had to wait ages for so we ended up going up to pay) otherwise they were happy to charge full price for an absolutely rubbish experience. Don't recommend at all and won't be back! The only positive is the waitresses were lovely and polite.

Last time, nearly two hours to deliver food. This time, at least they told us it was two hours. But only after us reading out our whole order. We decided not to go ahead. A great shame. The food is good. But communication is now not.

The food was top quality and at competitive prices but due to kitchen restrictions the service was very slow taking around nearly 90 minutes to get our main course I know it’s challenging times but felt like walking out at times the takeaway service was busy and seemed more of a priority than Customers inside

So we our staying in Banbury to travel round the Cotswolds for a few days . We go for a walk see this Indian restaurant and book a table for are evening meal . WOW so glad we did at first we was the only ones in the restaurant and we start to worry lol with in 10 minutes the phone does not stop ringing for takeaways and the people keep arriving regulars as well they all seem to know the staff! We learn that we booked a table for six and that’s when they first open The food comes out and it is absolutely gorgeous loads of meat in all 3 curry’s we ordered madras dansak and a Bangladeshi dish of the specials .All 3 curry’s had great taste my Kema bread with fresh chillies was lovely and soft with a kick to it perfected . All in all a great meal out if you are in Banbury and fancy a curry you will not regret choosing here !!!!!

We have used Voujon a couple of times recently. The last two experiences have been really positive, with good service and food.We have just had a takeaway, which took far longer than they originally suggested. The food was cool by the time it arrived. We put it in the oven and when it came out it was excellent but not what you expect with a £40 takeaway.The quality of food is positive but they could perhaps be a little more honest with delivery times. This review is aimed to be constructive because we appreciate the difficulties the restaurant trade is facing.

Went to Voujons tonight our first meal out in several months and was really impressed with the experience. We had a lovely meal and great service . We always enjoy going here for a meal as the food is lovely and the staff are great . The manager is friendly and helpful as are the staff . We have been going there for several years and enjoy it every time the food is always good .

We ordered a takeaway directly on Voujons website on 11/04/20 for my wife and I. I remember the date well as it was our 11th wedding anniversary and we thought we'd celebrate the lockdown blues by ordering a curry. We normally go direct to restaurants to cut out the middle man (just eat) to help local businesses. The website advised 60-90 min wait for home delivery. This was a little longer than we'd hoped for, but understandable in the current climate and it being a Saturday night. We ordered just after 5:30 pm and sat down eagerly awaiting thy Indian delights.2 hours later we hadn't received our takeaway. I rang the restaurant and they said they'd check on progress and call back. No apology given, but the lady on the phone was polite enough.10 mins later she called back and said the curry had already left their restaurant and would be delivered shortly. Great news!30 mins later, we still didn't have a takeaway! We had now waited over 2 hours and 40 mins for a takeaway that was advised as taking 60-90 mins to deliver. I waited another 5 minutes and then decided to put a frozen pizza in the oven instead! This was not really what we'd hoped for on our wedding anniversary and we were both left very disappointed with the whole situation.I messaged the restaurant to say to cancel the takeaway as we had waited too long. I didn't receive a response. Not even an apology! Disgusting customer service.We normally use New Mogul for our takeaways and have never had to wait more then 45 mins, but wanted to try somewhere different. Sometimes you're just better sticking with what you know.1/5, would've give 0/5 if TripAdvisor allowed

Booked up for work meal all the starters and main meal were to highest standards did not have to wait long for our meal. Staff we very friendly and would highly recommend. Currently the restaurant is closed due to lockdown but will definitely be back in the future

Managed to get our last take-away on Friday 20th March, the day it was announced restaurants were to close. Just me , three other people waiting for a take-away and the manager. He said that he was planning to close on Saturday anyway. He wasn't planning to do take-aways as he said it was not worth it. It was sad leaving the restaurant thinking of all those people who might be without work and struggling to survive whilst Covid-19 persists.It's almost academic that the take-away was delicious as always. We wish all the Voujon staff our best wishes.

On a business trip my colleague and I ventured in on Sunday night and were warmly welcomed.The pickles that come with the poppadoms must have been homemade and were all tasty (usually you get one no one likes), and the curries were delicious too.Well priced which was another bonus.

Can never fault the food and service from here in lovely clean surroundings, always greeted with a smile and quickly shown your table again the food is presented lovely and in my eyes always tastes great

After spending 2 hrs 30 minutes in this shambles of a restaurant before we received our main courses they then forgot our bread and rice. After complaining, the waiter become aggressive and confrontational scaring the children in our party. We had already waited 30 minutes before getting our drinks and were then not offered anymore. We will not be returning to this place and would advise anyone against going too.

We ordered lots of dishes to share and enjoyed all of them. The lamb shank was my particular favourite! Great service and atmosphere in this place. Highly recommended

Had a meal for one. Expected to be sitting by myself at 9pm on a Monday night but only just got a table as was busy. Had a balti and naan bread, very good quality and very friendly service. Would 100% recommend.

A new joiner to our Top 10 Asian restaurants. Thank you for a wonderful evening. You guys are lovely, friendly people. Serving food that was to die for. Mixed starter was a meal on its own and the prawn madras has massive king prawns (we’ve had small ones served elsewhere ) def be back again when in the area.

Voujon premises were immaculate and staff were all efficient and cheerful. We felt like family guests not just customers. Great food and some unique presentations.

This is one of our favourite Indian restaurants, not just in Banbury but anywhere in the UK... and we have tried a few!

A huge thank you to all the staff for being so accommodating on Sunday night when we were delayed on getting to Banbury. As always we wanted to stop off at one of our favourite Indian restaurants but worried it might be closed as we were delayed en route from Portsmouth. When we realised we were going to be 2 hours later than usual we phoned ahead and were assured that they would still be open so we were able to relax while we drove the 150 miles. On arrival we couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome despite it being nearly 11pm. We never felt rushed, on the contrary we were told to take our time and relax. All the staff spoke to us and were as friendly as ever without being intrusive. The food was as good as ever and we were even given extra popadoms and chocolates! A huge thank you once again to team Voujon. We always look forward to our night in Banbury and eating there before continuing our journey to Scotland the following morning. See you again next time! We shall hopefully arrive earlier!

A Busy friday night but with Nice staff but long waiting. A family decided to share their toddlers enjoyment of the movie Frost. A bit rude but no one said anything. Food was good but One of us got cold meat and sent it back but they returned with a different dish???
