Very busy and nice atmosphere but very let down by service.
Our order wasn’t placed to kitchen but it was only after I checked in with them that they confirmed this.
Obviously a new waitress that was learning but it just made me sad that none of the more senior colleagues were checking in with the tables she was waiting to make sure it was okay. I witnessed a few people being offered ‘free drink’ coupons - possibly due to situations like ours, but some more constructive management could lead to better outcomes and experiences for customers, as we don’t feel like returning.
What a great place. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the decor is lovely and the views awesome. We didn’t know what to expect but we were blown away. The food was fresh and tasty. Everything we had was delicious. This was a great little find and although we are from London we will be back! Throughly recommend.
***THIS IS THE REVIEW FOR WHEN THIS VENUE WAS CALLED THEY OYSTER AND CHOP HOUSE. I HAVE NOT BEEN SINCE THEY CLOSED THIS MUCH LOVED RESTAURANT AND REBRANDED AS “BAR EIGHT” ***
Très belle endroit dans une ancienne gare cuisine raffinée. Le service était parfait les plats étaient très bon avec des mélanges de saveurs qu’ils fallaient oser.

Definitely a busy place. When we got there, only a handle of seats was available and they were all taken.
We ordered takeout. We just needed to tell what we wanted to the staff with our names. When the food is ready, your name would be shouted out.
Price is ok compared to other oysters 🦪 shops around. We found the deep fried oysters were quite interesting. The raw ones were fresh, no incidents afterwards.
It is such a lovely place, I am really glad we found it!
A truly cosy pub with that unmistakable English charm. We went there for lunch, and I must say, the food was absolutely delicious. We had sausage and mash with garden peas and red wine gravy and the portions were very generous!
There is also a great selection of beer and ale, which really adds to the experience.
Absolutely love the place!
p.s. Just look at that stained glass window, what a beauty!
Ordered moules et frites. Not very good I'm afraid. The mussels stuck in their shells somehow so weren't eaten and cream sauce was tasteless (no garlic, no white wine). " Home baked bread" was from a supermarket and then heated through.
Fish and chips were fine apparently.
No prices on wine list which struck us as odd and not entirely in line with trading standards for pubs and restaurants...
We had the bottomless brunch which not only is great value for money but our server Arijon was not only attentive, but incredibly friendly with great customer service. The food and drink were amazing and we will definitely be visiting again!
Arrived to a very loud and noisy bar to find out our table was next to the door, across from the bar and next to noisy drinkers.
We waited 15 mins for a drink although the drinkers at the bar where served ahead of our drinks order.....we knew then we had made a mistake!
The food was excellent we both cleared our plate but atmosphere, service and attention to detail was lacking. Would not return in the immediate future.
Excellent Italian food in a charming restaurant with lovely ambiance. Attentive service, delicious dishes, good portions and good value. Easy parking. Perfect!
