Popped in after visiting Tankerton Slopes. Lovely atmosphere, background well selected jazz without vocals. Lovely vibe and tables not too close together. The two best things were our lovely server Linda who was not intrusive but was still super personal and had awesome bants. Also, the Semifreddo dessert which was soo good. Thanks for a lovely stop

An extremely pleasant surprise on a drizzly, dreary and coldish late-March day. Wonderful food cooked by our waiter (and chef) - presumably the owner or manager - for a party of 5. We all ordered different starters, mains and desserts yet in each case they arrived at exactly the same time (without long waits) and uniformly taken to have been delicious. Amazing. Wine was kept flowing, delicious and beautifully served. Reasonably priced given the quality which felt like the right blend between home-cooking and very fine Italian restaurant quality. Have lived in Whitstable 34 years and am stunned I did not know before about this place so nearby. Certainly want to re-visit, and soon.

Great welcome and wonderful food. Had the seafood spaghetti and I can’t remember having a pasta meal as good. Also great value. Service and attention from both the chef and the Young waitress could not be faulted.

The food is lovely. However, the restaurant was freezing to the point that myself and most diners had coats laid across them. No hot water in the ladies and cold air hand dryer. We had to ask for cutlery a few times and food arrived before cutlery. Rosemary was cut from outside planters which was a lovely idea but the planters had cigarette ends in them. Food lovely though

We were very much looking forward to eating here and it did not disappoint. All our food was delicious with a special mention to the lamb, the veal chop and the apple tiramisu. The staff were charming and helpful. The restaurant is cash only and this was clearly communicated so there could be no problem. My only issue was, being a Sicilian restaurant, I would have liked more choice of Sicilian red wines.

Visited here before and a great atmosphere. This time in the week a little quieter but still a good atmosphere. Service and food excellent at reasonable prices. What more is there to say. Try it.

Held our 30th wedding anniversary party here with around 50 of our friends and family. Mucini provided a delicious hot and cold buffet which consisted of antipasti, salads, breads, canapés, pasta, meatballs, roast potatoes, chicken. seafood, fresh fruit and cheese. Everyone absolutely loved the food and the staff could not have done more for us. We had a wonderful time celebrating at Mucini and would definitely recommend them for a private catered party or just a lovely meal.

We arrived here and ordered food and it came out uncooked. Sent it back and it took about 3 minutes from the kitchen so it had obviously been microwaved. Bland food and not authentic at all. Expensive as well. The bill came and they don’t take card payments only cash. I’ve never been put in that uncomfortable position where I don’t have cash. My son and daughter-in-law took me here for my birthday, purely on spec, having been unable to get into the restaurant we wanted and having no knowledge of Mucini. It was just wonderful. Four adults and a grandson - we ordered a series of primi, so created what would have been tapas in a Spanish setting. It was all excellent - really good quality food. The service was warm and friendly, the menu deliciously varied. The drinks menu was a little limited except for the wines. However, overall it was a super meal, and we'd all go back.

I came with my parents for a nice Italian meal (according to reviews) and my Dad ended up with a microwaved meal which lacked any taste. The starter of sardines was tiny and soaked in oil, seafood risotto was steaming when it arrived, just like it had been microwaved and was full of broken shell. My mum and I shared a selection of tapas (offered on a Thursday), which was okay but needed an extra portion of bread for it to be filling enough. For this price I would rather go to a chain Italian where you know what you are getting. The staff were very friendly but it's a shame about the food. Also cash only seems very strange in 2021!!

This is a fantastic Family run restaurant and we could not rate it more highly. If you are in the Whitstable / Tankerton area or anywhere nearby then this place is really worth a visit.Me and my now Wife got married in Whitstable on Sunday 11th July 2021 and we had a large family meal the night before at Mucini’s. The food is delicious, really well presented and good portion sizes and you can see it all being cooked in the open kitchen.The biggest credit other than the food is to the staff who provide a brilliant service and make you feel very special, welcome and create a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant.Another mention of how good the staff are is that when we left the restaurant to go back to our nearby hotel (The Marine) some family members who were staying a little further away in Herne Bay were having trouble getting back with wait times of more than an hour for a cab. They went back to Mucini’s to ask if they knew of any other local Taxi firms and without hesitation the owners daughter gave them a lift back in her car and didn’t charge them any money.Mucini’s is a brilliant restaurant being run by Michel and his Wife Anne-Marie and is more than worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed!James & Maria

We went with friends for the first time as I’d heard good things about this place, we were not disappointed! Food was gorgeous, I had the meatballs to start which were really flavoursome, seafood risotto that was full of seafood and tasty and the lemonchello dessert was perfect to finish. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered which is unusual as you usually have someone that is disappointed. The staff made the night as well, such lovely family run restaurant, makes all the difference when you have smiling staff to serve. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Mucini for a fab night.

The restaurant looks a bit tired on the outside. Don’t let that fool you. It’s just as tired inside too. Its saving grace is that the seafood seems to be fresh. The vengole I ordered was really not so authentic to Italy. I think the chef could really do with another trip to the mother country after covid restrictions are lifted to bone up on his skills. Never had I had a vengole with onion in it! Bizarre!!And the tiramisu- which I was really looking forward to- was “apple tiramisu”….. is that even a thing! If the detest were right, we’d probably have spent more!However, That was enough. We left and had gelato across the road. I’ve not even mentioned they got my wife’s order wrong. On a positive note, house red wine was great. On [another] bizarre note, why are all transactions ONLY CASH?!That should set alarm bells for anyone. Conclusion: AVOID!!!!!!

Had dinner here last night. It started off well very friendly waitress and starter and main arrived in timely order. As evening progressed it all seemed a bit chaotic and understaffed. Lovely waitress but she seemed to be the only one who was on top of things? We waited a long time to order dessert and had to ask if we had been forgotten and also at the end when trying to pay.Nice food though and maybe one or two more experienced staff would have made for a better eve.

Polly is a first class asset to any Restaurant. I had the Seafood Linguini and it contained quite a substantial amount of various shellfish including razor clams.You could also determine the chilli content, I had very hot but would recommend medium in order to taste the individual seafood. My dining companion had the Chicken Rissotto which was also a substantial serving, she also had the aubergine starter which she said was very tasty.

We’ve been eating at Mucini in Whitstable for the last 8 years or so, take all our friends there, and everyone loves it. Fab food, Michel and his team offer great service, and we’ve been lucky that our kids (now 14 and 16) have this as their “local”. During lockdown, we ordered home delivery, and it was still great - food delivered on time with a smile, compostable boxes, and a reminder of the great times we have had at the actual restaurant. My faves are the stuffed mushrooms and spaghetti vongole, the kids love the prawns and spaghetti bolognese and carbonara, my husband tries all the different specials each time, lots of fabulous fish dishes. We are so lucky to have this restaurant in Whitstable, family run, and it’s the first place we will be booking up once lockdown ends!

Enjoyed a fantastic takeaway from Mucini’s this evening which was delivered. 3 courses for 2 to celebrate a birthday & at £55 for 2 it was fantastic value for delicious food delivered hot to our door in Whitstable. We couldn’t eat it all so looking forward to part II for lunch tmrw. The only disappointment, that I didn’t order from them in the earlier days of lockdown! I definitely will be again & look forward to the day when restaurants are open & I can again enjoy a meal in the restaurant itself. I urge locals to support Mucini’s & order a takeaway....you won’t be disappointed.

I visited Mucini restaurant for the first time with my husband Mike last week and had an absolutely delicious meal . The bruschetta was the best I have ever had and the mushroom starter was also very tasty. The restaurant is of a very decorative appearance with comfortable seating. The service was impeccable too.I would definitely recommend visiting this gem of a restaurant. I look forward to a return visit to try some of the other dishes.

Another amazing evening at Mucini, The local family run treasure! The food is beautifully fresh and you can see the fabulous and very welcoming chef work in his open kitchen. Their is something on the menu for everyone, I have not yet had a meal from Mucini that I would not recommend. The dishes are bursting with flavour and authenticity. My favourite is the Linguine Mare which is a seafood filled tomato linguini dish, it is delicious!!The chef is adaptable and able to change certain ingredients in meals to suit your preferences and I am always so impressed with the service. The family are truly delightful, it is very rare you get such attentive and friendly service nowadays so it is always delightful to be able to relax and be fully taken care of. I could not recommend enough. Thank you everyone at Mucini!

Second visit to Mucini and another great night. The food is excellent, very authentic Italian. Staff are friendly and overall a great night out.

Pretty old skool Italian. Completely generic menu. Calamari starter was 6 rather sad rings that no doubt had come out of a packet. Spaghetti Mare was a huge portion, and was put on the table with steam pouring off it like only a mircrowaved dish can do. Plenty of seafood, but not very flavourful. Two of us had Affogato for dessert, which was ice cream and expresso but not alcohol. We had to order an Amoretti to pour over.Staff were youthful, keen but not knowledgeable. And WHY is it cash only? Especially at this time. Ridiculous. Only one reason businesses are cash only in my experience.

I ate here last night with a friend, we arrived on time and was seated in the corner. We then waited 15 minutes before we got offered and drink or a menu! Food was nice however we again waited another 15 minutes with empty plates we was then told by a very rude waiter that we couldn’t have desserts because there wasn’t enough time when we explain we had been left waiting for 15 minutes he just rolled his eyes and shrugged his shoulder then the snatched the payment off the table without so much as a thankyou! So In conclusion nice food but poor customer service

Excellent Italian food. Good service from excellent young staff who were being kept on their toes by over zealous manager. Absence of Pizza and Pasta made it more authentic than most Italian restaurants

I booked a table for 6 and due to to the cab only being available early and the local pub being full, we turned up half an hour early. They were still setting up the restaurant but took us in out of the cold. The 6 of us eat out a lot and we all be joyed our choices. If the meal has chill they will spice to accommodate, or even add if required. Four of us had 3 courses, we had 3 bottles of wine, including a Barolo, and a number of beers. When the final bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing meal on Saturday night with friends. The food was fabulous, I had the Prawns for starter that were full of flavour & the Carbonara for main. Not only were the staff so attentive it was also great to see all the Social distancing measures in place & all the staff wearing masks and taking all the recommended precautions. The service was second to none and the food absolutely amazing. My husband had the bruschetta to start and said it was so fresh and tasty that he will order it again and again. The food here was excellent and the waiter was very efficient. However, it was let down by the lack of attention to Covid-19 precautions. There were arrows on the floor, but the waiters were not wearing masks. I was pleased we had gone early, as the restaurant became very busy and there could have been more distancing of tables.

We had a lovely family meal (4 adults and 7 children). The food was wonderful Italian classics, with wonderful fresh pasta, coteletta Milanese, pizza, tiramisu etc. The ambience was perfect and the service was so friendly. The chef's mother-in-law served us and was so attentive (especially to the children) that it made the whole experience a joy. Cash only. Well worth it as the dishes were not expensive.

Ate here last night. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and shown to our table. The restaurant was full to its capacity. I did feel it was too full considering we are in a pandemic . There wasn’t any ventilation or air flowing and it felt extremely stuffy. Rather worrying!!Aubergine starter, this was spoiled by being completely flooded in what I can only describe as tinned tomato’s, no taste at all.Stuffed mushrooms. These were ok Steaming hot but not much taste. 2 of us had Sword fish. Fish was cooked nicely but the sauce just tasted like watered down tomatoes with far too many herbs which overpowered everything. Mine was meant to have medium chilli. Couldn’t taste even a hint of this?2 ordered Sea Bass, again cooked beautifully. Served in a lemon sauce? So it says. Could not taste any hint of this whatsoever. Just butter, lots of!!! Each one of us thought the same. Vegetables accompanied the mains. This consisted of, carrots with LOADS of onions. These were extremely overpowered by way too much Star Anise. Awful!!I feel the whole place is some what tired , the toilets leave a lot to be desired. Really needs a makeover. Far too many tables when we are in a deadly pandemic, I do wander if owners are trying to make as much money as possible!Shame

Well... 2 nights in a row we enjoyed the hospitality of the Chevalier family.What a find!!!!Great service...professional and confident. The food was very special and uniquely prepared.Each meal was piping hot and delicious.The starters were a great success....sardines,stuffed mushrooms, calamari and chilli prawns...all cooked thoughtfully and with love.Between us we had the special calves liver, lamb cutlets, swordfish, haddock, and sea bass...all served with crushed potatoes with herbs and spinach with tomatoes...all plates cleared.The staff were charming and knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble.We shall return!Highly recommend that you give Mucini a visit.Grazie Mucini!

Shared the calamari which was so fresh then I had the ‘special’haddock in parsley butter sauce served with smashed potatoes, carrots and fennel, the flavours had to be savoured and portion sizes were excellent. Husband had the tomato pasta and breaded chicken dish which is his favourite here. Puddings are not the usual brought in tasteless stuff, we have worked our way through most of them. The apple tiramisu is a fav’ of mine but this time we had the SEMIFREDDO DI NICCIOLE which was sold out last time. Can see why, it was absolutely beautiful!! Calories worth enjoying!! With a bottle of wine and a liqueur it was well worth the £71. Thank you Michel and co, we will be back very soon. Buon appetito!!

Italian kitchen at the bottom of the high street. Nice decoration and a good contemporary atmosphere. Service was a bit hit and misss as was the food. Four of us in our party and one thought this was exceptional food. They had the mushroom starter followed by the chicken. Couple of us had sardines which were full of bones then sea bass which was not great. Wine list was good. Mid range on price.
