Terrible service. I've eaten there several times before but today was shocking. One dish was served and after 15 minutes we asked where my partners food was. It had been given to another table. Mistakes happen, but the person serving didn't see the issue. I wanted a fresh dish but they would only microwave mine. We decided to go elsewhere. The girl who made the mistake was very apologetic, but the lady serving was just rude.

Had an amazing experience here. They catered for all our dietary requirements and even made us a special dessert fresh! The drinks were so lovely and the atmosphere was lovely. Would 10/10 recommend

I rarely leave reviews however, having visited Sale e Pepe in Whitstable for the first time this weekend, I feel overwhelmingly compelled to comment positively about the experience. Absolutely stunning food, quality service and all for a decent price too. Looking forward to returning soon.

Possibly the best Pizza I’ve ever had!! Incredible base, perfectly cooked. Quality ingredients and so so tasty. Atmosphere was great, red wine was a perfect pair. We also had crab pasta which was delicious and the choc brownie was lovely. Would highly recommend.

We ordered 2 pizzas online - they don't accept telephone orders. The system was a bit clunky, took about 5 minutes to do it. After I'd paid, I was told that they would be delivered in 45 minutes! On a Wednesday. So I phoned and cancelled them. Even that was not easy. I was told they can't cancel the order, but would refund my money. I received the refund that evening.

Food is fab however service is so slow. The bathroom is quite dirty.

Ordered a gluten free pasta dish that took about an hour to come out. The spaghetti had been cut up to cook it quicker, and the sauce was bland. Barely any chicken in the meal either. The pizzas the others had in the group were good though.

Really great little find along the Whitstable town centre!!! Small, friendly and the food is 10/10, truly authentic Italian recipes! Will be coming back again! rigatoni matriciana was beautiful! X

Pizzas are decent, good bang for your buck. However, the pasta is extremely overpriced for both the quality and the quantity of it. Barely no space at all to dine in, had to eat next to somebody so our conversation was muffled. Italian wannabe, but not even close to what a good Italian restaurant should be like. Dovresti imparare come lo fanno gli italiani prima di aprire un ristorante italiano!

A wonderful little gem! Claudio makes you feel at home! Food was amazing, authentic Italian! Dont miss the homemade parmigiana and seafood was super fresh! Highly recommend!

Every time I go to Whitstable I stop at Dale&Pepe the pizzas, the lasagne, the starters are perfect, the owner always friendly and we never have any problems or delays. I will recomemded to stop and try the food. I can assure you! You will love it. I didn't take any photos this time but next time I will and will post it

Lovely local Italian restaurant. Staff were excellent and service superb! Although there wasn’t much choice for vegans on the menu, they said they can make any pizza from their menu vegan. And it tasted amazing and very authentic!

We had a late lunch here on Sunday of the May Bank holiday weekend and we're delighted. The staff are really friendly and the food was amazing! I had tomato spicy garlic spaghetti with king prawns which was a special, and it really was special! My partner had gnocchi which was also great. Olive oil, salt and pepper were on the table which is always a good sign too ☺️

Lovely atmosphere, great vibe, good music. Would have preferred more herbs used in the pizza.

Visited here on a weekend away, the pizzas were lovely, huge and lovely, couldn't eat it all but they boxed up the rest for us to take home. Staff were very nice. A nice intimate little restaurant.

Very good pizza! Make reservations, seating is tight, but worth it. Anything labeled 'prosciutto' turned out to be just regular ham, but aside from that little surprise, the pizzas were excellent - a pizza oven working hard in the kitchen.

Very disappointed with our experience on Saturday evening. We arrived on time and were met by frantic staff saying our table was not ready. We were then asked if we would mind sharing a table and directed to a table of six that already had a couple sitting on it! We said that we were not willing to share a table. We were then asked to wait a little longer and eventually put on another table of two with a 3cm gap between us and the table next to us. It had clearly been squeezed in. We made the decision to get up and leave and were asked by a member of staff “is everything ok” on the way out. It was a real shame because we have heard that the food is lovely but the level of hospitality was awful. We will not be returning.

A great Italian (Sicilian) restaurant on Harbour Street in Whitstable. We've been many times and always enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and helpful, and for fans of Sicily, and Palermo in particular, there is a very fine copy of La Vucciria, the painting by Guttuso of the street market of the same name. Great restaurant, recommended.

We stumbled across this lovely little restaurant when wondering the streets of Whitstable with our dog and looking for a dog friendly restaurant, so glad we found it as by far the best pizza we've had in a very long time! Highly recommend!

High quality Italian food and the only place where you can treat yourself with a proper caffettiera with Italian coffee and cannoli... the pizza is a real Italian pizza and the best in the area. Strongly recommended 😉

Ok, but a bit all over the place.

Ordered for three - 2 pizzas and 1 pasta as a take away. I realised before we left that they had not made the pasta. We then had to wait for the pasta to be made. Just got home and checked the pizzas. Despite ordering one with extra mozzarella, it had no cheese on at all! A total fiasco! Would definitely recommend you check your order thoroughly before leaving.

We enjoyed a really good family meal on the first night of our break to Whitstable. Booking online was easy (I did it on the journey down from London) and the menu has a good range of authentic dishes. The pizzas are a really good size and we were able to takeaway leftovers for the following day, when they tasted just as delicious. The crab pasta was a triumph. Staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating.

Lovely place with a great atmosphere. Food was excellent and our waiter Harry was so attentive and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. A lovely night.

The place was nice and the service was excellent. I ordered their signature dish, with crab, the only thing I would say it's that it was full of onion, big pieces of it, which I wouldn't expect in a fish dish and it ruined the taste of the crab, which looked of high quality.

Friendly staff and amazing Italian food that tastes like home (and I am not from Italy 🙈). Very generous portions as well. Definitely recommend. P.s. Dog friendly

One of my favourites of the pizza places in Whitstable. Their dough is soft in the right places and crispy in the others, the toppings are great quality and the atmosphere in the restaurant is spot on. Service is friendly and attentive and they're dog friendly too 🐕

Best on Whitstable if your looking for a pizza pasta fix this is your place, if you’re sitting in zizzi’s or prezzo right now you should be ashamed of yourself, get up now and leave, walk five minutes down the road and get some real Italian inside you, staff are super friendly and the food is spot on I had ribs which is crazy coz I own a rib shack down the road but they were great and pasta di mare was spot on and fresh. Well done guys you’re doing a great job. Unfortunately I got no picture of the food I eat it so fast I forgot to get my phone out a capture it.

Lovely food eaten in a cheerful atmosphere. Only a small place and very popular so booking a table is a must, especially at weekends.

We didn't have a table booked and also had our dog with us but were warmly welcomed. Our dog hasn't been out with us due to covid so we were a little apprehensive but the staff all made a real fuss of him and brought him a bowl of water. The pizza was amazing, lots of toppings with good flavour and the huge garlic bread was really tasty too. A really great atmosphere with such friendly staff, we will be returning when we are next in Whitstable. Thank you for making us so welcome.

Lovely small restaurant overlooking quaint picturesque cottages. Service was friendly. Pasta dishes were unique and lovely! Chocolate pudding and ice-cream was yummy! Would definitely go again!

I was told in the taxi on the way that people often travel to Herne bay for Italian. I honestly don't know why, the meal was stunning. Some of the best Italian food I've ever had.

Delicious flavour in the toppings and outer crust was a nice texture but the centres of the pizza were so sloppy you had to scoop it up with a fork.

Tasty pizzas and some great signature pasta dishes. This place is a hit with the kids and one of our go to venues when ordering pizzas. Would love to see different pizza creations, perhaps as a limited offer to gauge the public’s opinion? Delivery is no longer available since lockdown rules have been lifted.

They were so busy (only serving one table in the restaurant) that apparently it was too much work preparing two pizzas for takeaway.

Be careful if you see a table seated, means they’re in a rush, peak time and probably too busy to serve you.

Had an unfortunate experience in this place last night; walked in around 6pm to order a couple of pizzas to takeaway, I was told by a waitress the chef wanted me to order online! 😳 This surely can’t be the way to run a business?! I took my trade up the road to Castellum Pizzeria where I was delighted with the outcome.

OK, but not strictly a traditional Italian pizza. Dough is not the correct hydration (58-60%) and the pizza is cooked for too long and is too crispy. It tastes baked, rather than cooked on a stone floor. I suspect they use an electric oven and do not cook anywhere near 450°C. A long way to go to taste like an Italian pizza but one up from a pizza hut if that helps.

Delicious coffee, amazing place and very, very good food. With pleasure will recommend Sales and Peppe to every food lover.

Probably the worst italian restaurant i have ever been and being Italian myself really upsets me to leave this negative feedback. -staff was made mainly of young students who were very shy to even take orders and talk to you. They were all hiding at the back of the room in the bar area and i barely seen them on the floor actually serving. -Door always open and i was actually freezing and we had to stand up several times to shut the door and again staff here was absolutely useless avoiding the issue. - they had between  7  starters on the menu but ONLY 2 available which was made mainly of bread which i didn't want to go for as i was having pizza My boyfriend was actually fiuming as we asked for bruschetta and they said that they didn't have any left BUT after a very short amount of time we saw about 5 Bruschetta dishes coming out from the kitchen !!!! I did report my feedback to one of the staff member who said that unfortunately they only had one chef in in that day. Easy to blame on the chef when the actual issue was the whole staff and the very poor service!!! Such a shame as i really like the pizza but they've made the whole experience horrible!!!! Un peccato!!!

Absolutely divine, our home smells like an Italian restaurant. As delivered, very well packaged and the food was hot. Delivery guy friendly and polite and all in all a very good experience. On time and the food was to die for. Can't wait to order again.

Ordered 2 pizza for home delivery, the pizzas are really large with a nice thin base and the toppings were really tasty, I can definitely recommend them and will be ordering again while we're in lock down.

Lovely crispy pizzas, beautiful pasta and wonderful service, whether you're sitting in or getting delivery. The spinach gnocchi and crab pasta are lush!

A small place, so book. An excellent choice of pizza (a friend says they do the best gluten-free pizza she's had), and a relaxed atmosphere. You bring your own wine, which is a feature I like. Managed to eat there shortly before the latest lockdown, so might be a while before I can go back. I would always prefer to give my money to a local restaurant than a big chain though, so I'll go again when we're allowed to!

Really fantastic little restaurant. Authentic pizza and we had a couple of desserts that were good to. Currently bring your own, but are hoping to get licence to serve alcohol by Nov 2020. Had a nice selection of wines in anticipation!

Ordered with some friends on line at 6.30. Given a 80 minute delivery time . Just called after 100 minutes and still not despatched.., as a restaurant owner myself, we just switch off online orders when we can’t deliver the service. Have given two stars as the Lady who answered was apologetic plus we are regular customers.

Pizzas were good and also very large. Covid secure. Calamari was nice. BYOB was cool.

We stumbled here in the rain one lunchtime and we certainly weren’t disappointed. The restrictions in place were clear and the waitress was quick to inform us of what we needed to do. The food was fresh and tasty and we were all very pleased with our meals. Two out of the four had pizzas, very good sized portions and fresh ingredients. The other of us has pasta. Extremely filling and very tasty.We’d certainly return.

Cracking little place on the high street that does service in the times of Covid ... Without feeling fear of Covid. Well run by staff with bubbling personality .... Nice simple menu with starters, pasta and 🍕 options galore A nice, warm smile as the world seems covered in drizzle
