That was the worst pizza I've ever had: carelessly prepared, tasteless cheap cheese,...

It was one of our favourites but all three pizzas today were bland, actually tasted like there is no salt. I complained salt is missing but the waitress said the chef didn't miss it so I should add table salt if need more. As I pointed out again it didn't taste like this before, then she said the chef changed the recipe. No replacement or discount. There was a burnt hard bit in lasagne as well.

Really disappointed. Pizzas dry. Deserts so frozen they almost broke teeth. Service was awful. They hoovered around us and mopped floor - at 9pm on a Saturday...! Asked for water 5 x without any effect. Won't return.

Get the diavolo pizza - spice is just right, so tasty

Expensive for what you get, service charge of 12.5% just means waitress doesn't work hard and provides average service. Beer was off and just got a shrug when told.. no offer of a new pint or refund. Shame

Great food let done by Fawlty Towers style service. Started so well, but to be honest, ended on down right rudeness from the manager. Putting myself aside, the tables next to us couldn’t get served, drinks not turning up at one stage and then too many, missing food. Way too many eye rolls from the staff and not enough apologies. A simple “sorry about that” with a smile would do! Such a shame because the food was great and the restaurant looks nice, but we won’t return, I don’t think any of the tables felt welcome… perhaps it was an off night.

Barely any ingredients on our pizzas, slice of salami every other slice and a salad costing £11.50 contains 4 slices of tomato 4 slices of mozzarella and a few olives, needless to say we won't order ever again !!!!

Went for Valentine’s Day, really nice at gloso here. Had the squid started which was really nice, pizza dough could have been a bit better but overall nice experience. The staff was friendly apart from our table waitress, who clearly doesn’t not want to work here or hospitality, made us feel uncomfortable just to ask anything and we got charged 12.5% service charge at the end without realising, would have not left a tip to the waitress.

This was a nice place to grab some delicious pizza. We were in a group of 8 who had pre-booked. The staff were not particularly welcoming and seemed almost annoyed that we were there. It was cold inside and the girls of the group all kept their coats on. The staff didn't seem to pick up on this. Otherwise, everything else was great and food was served quickly.

Went for a bottomless brunch last weekend and had an absolutely amazing time, endless bottles of Prosecco the pizzas are to die for! Maja, our server, was always so nice, funny and attentive to whatever we needed- so extra props to her!

A lovely place for a wood fired pizza. Very reasonable prices with fast service. Tasty food and we thoroughly enjoyed. Recommended for a quick, sit down lunch.

All great. My only niggle is I asked if my dog was allowed in. They said yes and led us to our seats. The benches (material) weren't in good condition anyway ie lots of stains and marks. I thought it must be the doggy area so I allowed my dog up where he promptly laid down next to me which is normal for him. Moments later they asked me to get him down. The rest of my time was spent trying to eat my pizza and keep my dog down! Please either don't allow dogs in or allow them to take part with their owners. Lots of people will disagree with me but if you're a dog owner you'll get it! Lovely pizza though

Gnocchi - sauce just tasted like a tin of tomatoes poured over with a tiny amount of cheese...nothing else to it. Sorry but really was very poor. Pizza a bit better but also not great and nothing special.

Stopped here on route to Ramsgate. The restaurant looks nice. But the four of us had different pizzas and all thought they were edible but poor. They had been left to cook for too long so dry. We waited quite a while between starters and main. The waitresses though sweet enough walked past us several times but no explanation for the delay. We wouldn’t visit again that’s for sure.

Been here before and thought it was reasonably good but went today and it was bad. Asked for extra cheese and all three pizza had so little you could barely see it, also it all were over cooked so what little cheese that was on there tasted dry and toasted and didn’t have any cheese pull that you would expect from a pizza. The sauce was just caned tomotoes blended and very bland. I personally wouldn’t go back again after this. Maybe they were running very low on cheese or they was having a bad day but wasn’t great. Probably give it a 3/10.

From the current 4.4 stars I assumed it's actually good. I have never seen bruschetta served as a slice of Farmhouse bread with cold, chillled diced tomatoes on it. 3.50 for a single slice. Th giordinara pizza has all toppings literally dumped in the centre, not sliced properly either and was served within 10mins of ordering in a packed restaurant. Shows clearly it was made in a hurry. Not at all worth the hype. Won't visit again. I love clay oven pizzas but today's experience ruined it.

Lovely tasty food, excellent staff

This is my second time visiting and once again the Pizza was great. The service was fantastic and both the menu and specials were really good. Would definitely recommend this to anybody visiting Canterbury.

Pizzas were both great, nice fresh, soft dough and good topping flavour combinations. Really enjoyed the Halloween pizza so shame it's only offered seasonally. Friend said the Passionfruit martini was the best tasting one she's ever had! As a local this is my third good experience here would definitely recommend as very good value. Order was taken quickly, waited less than half an hour for food. Were just told we could only have the table for an hour before a reservation group needed the table so felt a little rushed to eat with no time to try desserts.

Absolutely love this restaurant. The atmosphere, staff and of course Food is outstanding. IMO it beats any Pizzeria I have been to, its such a shame I dont live closer (1 hour 20) but whenever I come to Canterbury, I will always eat here for dinner. Love it!

Chicken very very dry and unpleasant. No rocket/arugula available. Staff just no, no, not available. £41 bill for unpleasant lunch. This place was ok when it first opened. Now it is just awful. Avoid!

Great Pizza! the dough was excellent. We do not eat dairy food and the staff was attentive and gave us just what we wanted. Highly recommended

Tried 4 different pizzas, all good. Located in the heart of the city, if you are a fan of true Italian pizza you should try it here. American style? maybe another place.

I recently dined here, and as a pescatarian, I was absolutely thrilled with their non-meat options. The menu had an impressive array of vegetarian options, and I was spoilt for choice. The pizza size was very generous, ensuring I left in a food coma. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The prices are very good for the quality of what you get.

Popes in yesterday for lunch, we have checked prior if we can book but we said let’s just pop in as we around the corner, upon arriving we asked for a table for two but the chap working there he just pretended to look for a sec at a random paper to tell us a cold NO TABLE no sorry no nothing. We got a bit offended as they were plenty tables available 2 or 4 seats.

My friend and I ordered Melanzane and Gnocchi alla sorrentina. Both these were almost tasteless and appeared to be microwaved low quality ready meals rather than food cooked on the premises. A very unsatisfactory experience.

We called and left voicemails with no callbacks. 4th time, they replied. They said they were busy and couldn't fit us in. We showed up, and it was half empty, not to mention the huge back room with endless tables. We kept quiet and asked for a table and got in..... Starter arrived after pizzas. Lack of eye contact from staff, impossible to get service . We didn't want them then, as pizzas arrived much sooner. One member made us feel terribly guilty when we asked about the olives. 1 pizza was cold with raw onion. I felt sorry for my partner, but i didn't want to rock the boat. The pizza chefs made zero eye contact...... No smile, nothing! Wasn't welcoming at all, especially with them in full sight. We couldn't even thank them for the pizza. We won't be going back. Its important for chefs to be happy and humble with customers. Treat customers with respect.

We ordered 6 pizzas to collect, and not 1 of them had anywhere near enough toppings/ingredients on them. Very disappointing.

I visited here today with my 14 year old,we hadn't booked which didn't matter,as we got there when it opened, the staff member unlocked the door then walked away,she didn't open the door or welcome us in any way,the staff in general didn't seem particularly happy,on the plus side,the pizza was tasty and enjoyable..would definitely go back next time we are in Canterbury

This place was pretty nice and cozy, I enjoyed the food, it was tasty. Wouldn’t say it’s the best I’ve had, but it was pretty good. I tired the margarita pizza, the lasagna, and the rosemary chips. I was pretty happy with everything I tried. Service was good, they were quick and cooperative, the food came in nice and hot as well. All is all, I would eat there again if I happened to be near by and was in the mood for some pizza.

Nice rustic modern restaurant and bar selling mainly pizza in the heart of Canterbury, my pizza was very good and I particularly liked the base which was better than average and I eat a lot of pizzas out, plus was not too expensive at around £12, the Amstel draught Beer was around the £4.50 mark.

Our 2nd visit (1st was after our son's graduation ceremony) as tourists. Pizza's as good as I remembered, thin crust americano with extra anchovies. The tomato sauce is the real star. It was mid to late afternoon, so the place was quiet. But at least it meant we didn't wait long for service. Will go back again if we're ever in the area.

Awful, rude staff, avoid this restaurant. We were looking for a table but were told that they were full. I asked if we could sit at one of the empty tables in the front of the restaurant (the entire front section was empty) but they refused. I pointed out that if I owned the restaurant, I would want them to fill all the tables and not leave an entire section empty. I was curtly told “well you don't so leave” by the waiter, then I asked the person behind the bar if this was his restaurant and he told me “no, just get out”. Awful staff, with terrible attitudes and scruffy clothes. If this was my restaurant I would want the entire restaurant full and I would definitely be looking to find better front of house staff. A different Another pizza restaurant benefited from our custom last night.

7pm on a Saturday “ No calamari “ The rest of the food mostly pizza was average but my wife’s chicken salad was horrid with stale croutons and dry dry dry chicken , the kids Mac n cheese was a hot re-heated mess !!! Turned us down for coming without reservation as restaurant was fully booked so we ordered pizza to go. While standing there waiting for pizza I’ve noticed first big table had 6 extra available seats and 12 tables at the back completely free. After a while we were offered a table as somebody cancelled their reservation. We were dining for another 30 minutes and only two people appeared. When asked the gentlemen why did they turn us down as they clearly could accommodate us, they claimed nobody of those 12 reserved tables turned up. Not sure what to think but they sure made us feel unwelcome and I wouldn’t come back. Pizza was ok tho.

Visited restaurant on a bank holiday trip to Canterbury. Good tasting ,decent size and reasonable price pizzas'. Have to leave a comment as a review before me might have been a misunderstanding. Katarina, I booked slot for a restaurant and this was checked upon arrival. I think because it was bank holiday,some people booked a visit but were no show-ups who didn't bother to cancel online. I don't think any business would purposely refuse to seat you and your friend at the table as they would actually make more money out of you by you staying in a restaurant rather than you having a take away. It is very easy now days to ruin someone's business by making complaints which might be unreasonable due to misunderstandings. ** woman sitting with a son behind you**

What a wonderful place to come for a celebration dinner! The food was excellent, we all had such a lovely evening. A big thank you to the team at Chapter who looked after us and served us a delicious feast. This is my new favourite venue and we will all come back for round two. Thank you for giving us such a lovely experience!!!!!

Right in the centre of town by the Cathedral. Awesome Pizza, Pasta and Cappuccino experience. An enjoyable experience at a lovely venue.

We loved this place at our visit in the town. The restaurant is rustic, and this gives a great charm to it. Service was good. Our waitress(Marta) was kind and polite. The food is amazing! After a lovely n'duja brushetta, we got a beautiful and really tasty thin Quattro formaggi. Crispy, really thin, dough made wood fireplace. We can highly recommend this place for a pizza lover who is in the town.

Came here as a group for a friends birthday. It was a great atmosphere with friendly staff. I loved that the old fire place was still in and the fairy lights gave a nice glow. Sadly, have had two bad experiences in this restaurant now and won’t be visiting again. The food was refrigerator temperature on the inside and didn’t taste fresh. Small plate menu is expensive for what is being offered. Advertise Student Discount but then was told that this does not count on bank holidays which is not clear. Would not recommend it, despite being a great venue and appearing very classic Italian.

Spent half an hour building an online order with deliveroo only to have the restaurant reject the order with no explanation. Ordered at 6:45pm, yet they don't close until 8pm. And they're not answering the phone. What an absolute crock.

Two of us ate here early Sunday afternoon, the food, drink and service were all good, would have been 4 stars but my partner said the ladies toilets were a mess.

Amazing Italian food mostly revolving around oven baked pizzas with a variety of types. The decor really suits the theme and the staff are very kind.

Food was good but slightly over priced and service is shocking. Not one of the waitresses said please or thank you or so much as even smiled at us. Probably because service charge is included - they don’t bother working to earn their tips!

The food was surprisingly good, the vegan pizza was much better than anticipated. I only wished they were brought to the table as soon as they were ready, as a couple of them were almost cold, but I couldn't fault the taste. Service was decent, quite a few people around but they managed to hold up. Might actually drop by again when I feel like having some pizza, because the prices are pretty decent.

Food was ok, service was awful. Came for a Friday night dinner with friends for the first time. Pizzas and my drink were ok. Service - staff didn’t really check on us at all, on the table next to us the staff had piled up...

Service was good however it is not unlimited and if you’re in a big party they will not give enough alcohol.

Fantastic food and service, however, unfortunately 4 of our party were running late, which we respected was our fault. We were accepting of this, however we were told by the bar staff that our time of drinking Prosecco would be from when the rest of the party arrived and that we would have two hours from that point. Consequentially we didn’t order Prosecco and waited for the rest of our party to arrive, which took around 25 minutes. We were then stopped being served Prosecco at 14:45, despite us saying and respecting their 15 minute policy of stopping serving the Prosecco before the end of the brunch. We felt a bit robbed of the time as if we knew this was the case we would’ve started drinking Prosecco when we had the opportunity. Like I say earlier, everything about the brunch was fantastic, we just felt a bit cheated by the drinking times. Would recommend, just make sure you drink as much Prosecco as you can whilst you’re there haha.

Fantastic pizza with friendly service from the two women who were seating customers and taking orders. No light above our particular table so used our phone torches to read the menu! Food was delicious; pizzas, salads, chips and calamari.

Great pizzas and Calzone. It isn't on their menu but there is draught lager available as well as a good selection of real and craft ales. Prices were good and the pizza filled me up, no need for lots of sides

Paid a visit this evening after booking a table for myself and my partner and the food was a 10/10 side by side with the customer service received by the staff… certainly will be back as soon as for my next delicious meal! 😊

On a day trip to Canterbury we came across this restaurant. As it was my husband's birthday we decided to have lunch. Very friendly staff, and an excellent lunch. Plus dog friendly so that was a bonus as we had Cookie with us.

Mediocre food; loud and noisy we could hardly hear ourselves talk. Our table was near the back door and we could smell smoke from cigarettes. Our table was wobbly, our drinks kept slipping around. They lost our reservation so we got one of the worst tables at the back of the restaurant. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Not our first time at Chapter and hopefully not our last. We booked in the afternoon and got the last available table. The pizza options are really good here. House wine goes down easily. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Highly recommend...

Really nice place, staff are really friendly. Pizza quality good. I got the fennel sausage one and wouldn't say it was for me but other pizzas and garlic bread nice! Happy hour cocktails are a great idea but need more glasses for them! 😂
