Chuck & Blade Burgers in Canterbury

I had a lovely experience at Chuck and Blade! Keiron was my server and he was very attentive and friendly! I'll definitely be back.

Genuinely the best burger I have eaten (Fiery Fagin) with a friendly and helpful waiter. Highly recommended.

I hope the owners will hear me when i say this: you have a gem in your hands, the food is great and so is service, you have good staff and great bones, but using ai on deliveroo is embarrassing. it doesn't sell the "local gem" vibe at all. feels boring and corporate and does not look appetising whatsoever. i wont be eating here for the time being until they understand that ai erodes the relationship between business and audience

Our server Luis was awesome and the burgers were the best we have had in a long time! Staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was quick!

We have been regular customers here and we love the food, however their recent menu changes have been very disappointing. They have updated their trashy tray meal which has seen an increase in price but a decrease in value. They have removed the milkshake from the meal/the £2 add on, and they have also removed certain burgers from the tray. If you wanted a chicken burger instead of beef, you had to pay an increase of £10 which still did not include a milkshake. This increase in price and reduction of value has now made it unaffordable for two students to go and enjoy a nice meal. This a shame since we thoroughly enjoyed chuck and blade but the new menu changes and lack of burgers included in their trays have not made it not worthwhile in going.

Firstly, let me point out that almost all staff we interacted with were amazing. The male manager type could cheer up but the new girl who had only been there a few days on Saturday was amazing and friendly yet professional, a real asset to your team! I’m a massive burger fan, even though I’m a fussy vegetarian. I went to Canterbury with friends who love Chuck and Blade and they wanted me to try it. Sadly, the special trays only allow beef burgers so when our party wanted chicken or veggie, we ended up paying more for 2 of us. Not the worst but a little annoying. The worst part was just the disappointing blandness of the food. The halloumi burger was good but nothing amazing. The tomato also looked like it was days old. The cheesy fries were good but the portion size quite small. Also would have loved more cheese sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be back to try it again but I wasn’t blown away. The atmosphere is good, the music not too loud, and it’s easy to find and super clean. Lots of positives.

Kieron gave us a warm welcome upon arrival, promptly seated us, and was incredibly pleasant throughout. He made us feel comfortable and well taken care of—truly excellent service and a testament of why we keep coming back!

Overpriced, drearily average food. The Charlie burger was passable, but lacked flair or anything to set it apart. But £6.50 for a bowl of plain tots, which were straight out of the freezer and into the fryer left me seething. Dreadful value and I feel ripped off. 1 Star review saved by the server who bore the brunt of my comments with humility. You can do better than this.

Great place for a great burger! Visited on a Saturday evening and the food and staff both great, but the place wasn’t very busy! Deserves more customers for the class food!

Had lunch at the Canterbury restaurant. Awesome food and equally awesome staff. My dad is elderly and not particularly mobile, he went to use the restroom and our waiter instantly directed him to a toilet on the ground floor rather than try to navigate the stairs. Couldn’t be more helpful 🙏 A must try is the triple smash burger with Candy bacon 👌🏻. I’ll be going back again soon. Great job guys, thank you 😉

Have been here twice now and the food is great and their chips are by far the best around. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. Would highly recommend it.

food was good, atmosphere was Ok. Service on the other hand was… unique. Our waiter gave us the impression he did not want to be there, condescending tone when we wanted to split the charge for some reason? constantly eye bathing us with dirty looks. Rest of the team were friendly when we asked for the bill but the one slender guy with the moustache was terrible

We visited for the first time today due to the Tuesday offer of 2 for 1 burgers. The food was beautiful and there was nothing we could fault. I would highly recommend the Big Dipper and the poutine. We will definitely be returning!! Kieran was our server and was fantastic!! We will be back soon!

From start to finish, a really great experience. Everyone was so friendly, food appeared quickly (not essential but we were heading to the theatre, so really appreciated), food was TASTY and looked great, plus we were fortunate to try some chicken from their place next door, which was similarly amazing! Minor criticism was the limited beer range, but I enjoyed what I had so I'm happy! Will definitely be back

We got a meal deal and boy oh boy was it worth it! Honey covered halloumi sticks were scrumptious, loaded filthy fagin fries were also top-notch. Veggie burger was alright, a bit plain for my liking. Husband’s Cluck Norris was great. The only drawback was the bun which was falling apart a little. Generally, this is a great place with really welcoming & friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We were visiting the town and on our last day had a meal there. By far THE BEST burgers we have ever had! Didn't even have time to take a picture 😂 Also tried the pudding fries, very good version with slow cooked beef on top. Passing through Canterbury on a tour and ended up stoping for food. We were seated at a table quickly and ordered, the food was prepared quicklu and tasted fantastic. The server(whose name we didn't catch) was fantastic! Great Food and Great Service!

Visited here whilst shopping in Canterbury. Poppy our waitress was really polite and helpful. It was pretty busy but she ensured we had our order and was very attentive, 5 stars to her alone. Food was fab too! We will be returning.

We came in for the two for Tuesday deal. food came out hot and fast. i have a serious gluten allergy which our waiter Fin dealt with very well and was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and what was safe for me to have.

Between two people, we had a burger each, halloumi, poutine and tater tots, there was more than enough food for us. Cost what you would expect. I got the Cluck Norris and it was a little underwhelmed by the lack of much flavour going on, might be my fault for ordering chicken at a burger place. The other burger was Candy bacon triple cheeseburger and had plenty of flavour. Overall a good experience

Food was amazing and had good music. Was quite busy with very happy atmosphere. Only complaint is that we were told it was table service but my partner had to go up to the bar every time we wanted something as they only came over once. Would go again just maybe to a different location.

The food here is always amazing and a staple for our date nights. The trashy tray is a great deal and the service is great. Never waiting long for your food or to be seen to. Servers are also very polite.

2 for 1 burgers every Tuesday is well worth it! ALEX from Canterbury's store was very welcoming, helpful and attentive throughout. Definitely think the chicken burgers need 3 tenders as apposed to two to fill it out. The biscoff milkshake is a winner and also a great size unlike many other places who serve shakes that are overpriced for the size 🙄 Love the lighting in the restaurant 😊

Really ideal location with parking in nearby St radigunds car park. Came on a Friday evening and it was quiet so our booking didn’t seem necessary, we were sat around the corner from the entrance which was smart as it prevented all the delivery companies disturbing our experience. But clearly popular for take away orders! Menu was very full for a burger restaurant and plenty of side choices. My wife found the tray dish and the price made this meal out feel like a hack. 2 triple stacked burgers, 6 halloumi fingers, dirty fries and 3 chicken strips and a milkshake for £35!!!!!! And the taste was absolutely epic. Service was ok and the only thing that let the experience down a bit was being so quiet made it feel like there was no atmosphere. But we will be back!

We had a wonderful experience. I have a rare and awkward allergy that isn't included on the lists that they have to give, but they were really helpful here and couldn't do enough to work out something I could eat! Arthur was our waiter, and he was amazing, constantly popping back to the kitchen to check what I could and couldn't eat. He was very welcoming and super helpful! He made me feel very comfortable and he couldn't do enough. The food was delicious, and you could really taste that the ingredients are high quality. The portions are generous. The burgers were delicious, definitely the best I have had at this price point. Incredible evening with incredible food and service!

New update New burger was warm as expected ( coz it was a delivery and i live a bit away ) and teased amazing when I called even though I felt bad ( coz I hate complaining) they was super friendly, the manager kerry is super nice and helpful. Ordered on uber and food was cold and apart off the burger looked undercooked but the milkshakes was amazing Update 1: I've emailed them and am awaiting a reply Update 2: they replied and are gonna send me a free burger and sides Update 3: got the new burger and will post a new review

My first order here, ordered via Uber eats for pick up. Food was ready for collected within 15 mins which is great but both burgers I ordered were raw throughout and have left me sick after only a few bites.

Fast food type restaurant the burgers are good and the fries too, as you would expect from a fast food restaurant. The value for money is correct, nothing more. If you want to eat a hearty meal at a reasonable price this is a very good place. The milkshakes are delicious.

We opted for an early dinner before heading back home so we were one of only two or three tables dining, but as the room is quite small I would definitely recommend booking ahead. From what we could tell, the burger options changed fairly frequently so it's good to see that there are different flavour combinations available. We opted for the trashy tray which was plenty for the two of us and we left feeling pretty full! The milkshake was really tasty and both burgers were deliciously cooked although the cheesy sauce on the chips was a bit disappointing (we felt it didn't really taste of anything) and we felt like the bacon bits should have been crispy, but these are minor issues. Just a note too that the bathroom is upstairs, not sure if they have an accessible one, and was quite a narrow walkway so something to bear in mind if you have mobility issues.

We’ve been coming here for years, the food is amazing and the staff are always really friendly and give great service.

I went to this place attracted by the "two for Tuesday" promotion in which you can order two hamburgers and pay for one, and without a doubt it seemed like a success, because both the attention of the girl who took my order and the atmosphere of the place were very good. Regarding the food, I tried the in and out burger and a portion of poutine, and I really liked both. I definitely recommend it.
