Great service. Neave, Gaia and Holly were amazing. Food was great, quick and tasty. My only suggestion is that PHO offer a Vietnamese style limincello shot to finish the meal. Will definitely revisit

I recently visited Pho Canterbury, and overall, it was a great experience. The atmosphere was fantastic—warm, inviting, and perfect for enjoying a meal. The food was delicious, with rich flavors and fresh ingredients that really stood out. The only downside was the service, which could have been better. While the staff was polite, our server never checked in to ask how our meal was, which would have made the experience feel more attentive and welcoming. That said, I’d still recommend Pho Canterbury for its great food and ambiance, and I’ll definitely be back!

Shout out for Ben who waited on our table. Excellent service. The veg spring rolls were scrummy as was the noodle soup. Jasmine tea with an unfurling jasmine flower in it was a talking point!

Jacob was brilliant, really attentive and nothing was too much trouble. He made the meal basically and we will be back!

The staff were lovely. But I found my bun with beef to be lacking of any flavour, the beef was not nice at all and I would avoid this completely. Also we wanted the pineapple fritters dessert but were informed it was cooked in the same fryer as fish which is surprising as it means it's not really vegan as labelled. However was very good for avoiding our fish allergy. My partner however did enjoy there dishes and they catered for there fish allergy.

Perfect. Great food and service. Very dog friendly, even some chicken for the dog! Both Bun and Pho were very tasty. Will come again!

The food wasn't good, in my opinion. The toilets were ok. But we had a bad experience there. We had dinner there, we left something on the table. The next morning, around 11 am (before they opened), I called several times, and luckily a man picked up. I explained what we left, and on which table, he then asked to all the staffs there (he said the same staffs who was working last night also came in that morning), and he said noone found it. That's so strange. After we had dinner, who cleaned the table? The next customer after us did? Of course not. So, one of the staffs found it, and don't know what she/he did to it. Just a bad experience for us...

Anyone expecting authentic Vietnamese Pho will be disappointed. The noodle soup was ok as a noodle soup, but it was definitely not pho that we were served. The first soup was only lukewarm. When asked, it was replaced with hot noodle soup. Therefore, the service is rated average (our ordered drink was forgotten), but the taste is only below average. I don't know why the taste isn't like Pho. Probably only the operator or chef knows. The restaurant itself was very loud because of the music. The Muski style was more suited to a hip cocktail bar than a pho restaurant. Overall, it was a rather disappointing experience.

No idea how it got so many good reviews. Im not Vietnamese but the food is an insult to authentic viet food. Took pho with beef steak and it was horrible. Meat like chewing gum, „soup“ tasted like boiled water with some knorr powder that I can make at home and the „noodles“ were like those ready made sloppy overboiled noodles from supermarket. Service: had to wait and ask for receipt as they didnt even provide it. No waiter came to ask if the food was good like they do in other restaurants. Very expensive for what you get.

I had the curry beef brisket ramen which was really tasty. The beef was soft and the broth was full of flavour - good portion sizes too! There’s also a nice atmosphere inside the restaurant, and the staff are welcoming and friendly.

My god… this is not Vietnamese food. Please, if you are Vietnamese, do NOT come here. Các bạn ơi dung an o day. Te lam! Using pho noodles in bun bo hue. About as authentic as Katie Prices breasts. Avoid if youve ever had pho in VN.

The staff were great, but the food and drinks were a letdown, especially if you’re into authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The iced café sữa đá was just wrong - condensed milk sitting at the bottom, ice thrown in without even a stir. No Vietnamese in their right mind would make it like that. The phở was okay, not amazing, but Bún Bò Huế with phở noodles? Seriously? And the broth tasted like spiced-up phở soup with way too much chili oil and no hint of shrimp paste. Overall, it felt like a watered-down take on Vietnamese food. We had high hopes since the menu was written in proper Vietnamese, which seemed promising. Unfortunately, the execution didn’t live up to the expectation. In general, no I don’t recommend. A very bad demonstration of Vietnamese cuisine. (Iced tea was good.)

Food was amazing, hot and full of flavour, staff were great, even though they were busy they greeted us warmly and seated us quickly, checking in with us to make sure everything was ok with our meal. Pho have a good range of dishes. The open kitchen helps to build the atmosphere of the place and the music playing was quite lively and up beat. I will definitely return.

Sunday evening, so maybe atmosphere is unfair, but service was really poor, and food not much better. The restaurant is clearly focused on takeaway / delivery, as various bags went out the door whilst waiting 30mins+ for our food. Even when our starter came to the counter, it waited there for five mins, and when asked whether it was still warm, the waitress used her bare hand to check whether it was still warm. Curry main was nice, and the Summer Rolls were too, but the Wok Fried noodles were tasteless. Disappointed overall, and wouldn’t recommend anyone visits.

Not what I was accustomed to after eating for years in the pho shops in Houston Texas. But different is sometimes better. The brisket pho was excellent, the summer rolls were fresh and well made.

The service was good, although our beer and food did go to the wrong table initially but they did apologise. Our food was lovely we had the curry. Just enough spice and very tasty. It's our second time and we would come back.

Had the pho with the garlic steak and a glass of Vietnamese iced coffee, delicious overall and the service was efficient as I was on my lunch break. Will return again.

Always one of me and my mums favourite places to eat in Canterbury, never had a bad meal. It’s always delicious, especially the veg options! The staff are also all very nice. :)

I've never had Pho before and it's DELICIOUS I am an absolute convert (Wagamama who???). Loved the vibes and chill lighting, and can't say enough about our super friendly, cheerful, and energetic service staff! Absolutely 10/10, would Pho again.

Visited PHO Canterbury branch with my boyfriend for lunch on Saturday. The food was absolutely delicious - fresh, flavouful and well presented. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We are looking forward to coming back to try desserts next time.

Was greeted and sat down with the menus. We had a look and chose what we wanted and then proceeded to go unnoticed for least 10 minutes. Tried catching the eye of the waiting staff but no one noticed. We then saw people come in and get seated after us and then be served. At this point we got up and left, no one decided to see that we were OK or anything. Really disappointing as we thought the food looked amazing.

The long wait for the waiters was not the best impression. We waited 15 minutes to order, then 20 minutes for the starters, then another 25 minutes for the second course.

As a solo traveler you get a place in the last corner. Service was as distant as possible and tried to ensure quick processing. Had an ergo of the house. Shrimp were good. Chicken dry and tasteless. The beef was dry. The soup was lukewarm. The noodles inside are a single lump. The additional ingredients (lime, soy sprouts, etc.) were absolutely carelessly prepared.

A lovely location in Canterbury, giving plenty of opportunity to overlook lanes of Canterbury. An excellent selection of tasty Viatnamese food. Low lighting adds to the romantic atmosphere.

today i sat down and ordered a pho. i waited over 30 mins and my food never came. i didnt mind waiting as it was busy however everyone sitting next to me had received their food even though they came in after me. this felt very unfair. i asked a member of staff when my food would arrive as everyone else’s meals food around me had already arrived and i was told “we’re busy and it will be here soon” i love pho as a chain so im really disappointed by this service ngl, dont understand why i didn’t receive my food and everyone else did? at that point i just left bc i was starving. do better

If I can give 0 star I will. Complete waste of time. We were there today and ordered around 13:00, waited for 45 mins to be served one of our starters. We decided to leave at 13:55 and at that point we have only been served 1 summer roll and the rest of the order never arrived. If your staff has messed up the order just be honest about it and let the customer to decide if they are happy to wait. Terrible experience.

Pho was great, relatively large portions, nice athmosphere.

Staff were seemingly friendly. The starter was well flavoured but a little dry. That's where the good stops, the broth of both phos were bland, the noodle dish was very oily and half was cold and the other half hot. Would not come here again.

Nice Vietnamese food in Canterbury, easy to find around the church, nice decoration, a lot of space for seating. The staff very friendly and welcomed, food are delicious and fast, I love beef 3 in 1 pho, their chili oil is very tasty. Also you can have student discount, very valuable to chose

Loved the Hot & Spicy Brisket Pho

1st time at this chain of restaurants, popped into Canterbury for mooch and lunch, beef brisket classic curry - beautiful full of flavour coconut base and you can choose cauliflower rice instead of white rice, husband had the chicken spicy soup and really enjoyed it, we also ordered a portion of prawn crackers. I will definitely visit this chain again if there is one in town when next visiting somewhere. Staff polite and helpful, speedy service

Daughter loves the food here and brought me for the first time. Food was okay but the service was shambolic, comically disengaged and surly - straight from the school of Basil Fawlty - by all bar one guy, who was rushed off his feat. How we all envied those tables! Four servers were vying to seat customers before returning to the door and standing at ease crowding it out less than 10 feet away from our section, all chatting/staring into the middle distance or taking turns walking very fast down the middle of the restaurant and back with their own drinks, all the better for all that standing and chatting, I suppose. Meanwhile one guy worked from the far end of the restaurant and never stopped serving.. up our end It appeared to be a needle match between the four servers hanging out amongst themselves by the door on who can ignore the top end tables the longest. We honestly had no idea who our server was supposed to be and neither did those around us, in no man’s land. We had plenty of time to take this all in as the tables in our sections were actively ignored…. We checked with our fellow diners. It became a running joke. After 20 minutes we had to catch one of the speeding drifters on passing who was clearly displeased about having to take an order. Perhaps she lost a bet? Server was impatient, snappish and short. We made sure to be unfailingly polite, in comic stark contrast. We were congratulated on getting someone by our fellow, equally neglected diners. We were now all in this together. It was the same for trying to order additional drinks and the bill, a game of catch them if you can. Nobody had their tables checked in on, nobody had waited less than 15 mins before ordering, queries were not responded to. Don’t bother with this place if you have allergies, or wish to order more food or drinks. Paying takes nerves of steel. Finally, after one last hopeful glance and smile to draw one of them in, it took several attempts, we managed to request the bill. To be Rewarded with the card machine slammed onto the table before the server literally turned her back and left without a word, all the better to be further ignored. She did the same to those around us. It wasn’t personal. We completed the transaction ourselves and had to just… leave the card payment unit on the table…? No receipt opportunity with this self serve vibe but my card was charged so there’s that I suppose. We made sure to mention the card machine was there to one of the fab impassive four on our way out. They did not seem bothered nor made any attempt to fetch it. Definitely some kind of bet going on, we thought as we escaped. Our order was wrong but it was not worth trying to tell anybody as they hated being distracted from all that standing, drinking and chatting by the door. Do not try this place unless you enjoy a lived in experience of comically bad service. Which you then have to pay for. In a heavily competitive restaurant scene I don’t see this place lasting long unless someone sorts out the professionalism of its serving staff. None of them were young. This wasn’t immaturity, It’s not cheap and Canterbury is used to better, engaged service even on the most basic level and gets it everywhere else. If you want a chain, go to Wagamama’s instead. There was little point telling anyone on the day, who on earth would we have told?

Wow I have never seen such double standards place . We were sit in menus arrived and you needed magnifying glasses to be able to read the Menu as the lighting is designed for youn couple to canoodle rather then paying customers to enjoy a night out. Ordered a beer we are out of it , for the purpose of people reading my review As a Former Director of 4/5 hotels and award winning restaurants currently retired, the first thing you do you brief your team and train how to inform the customers and make their dinner pleasant. We ordered baby squid and beef rolls for starter . Squid delusion and beef dry and awful. Main course I ordered King prawn soup noodles and my wife Chicken noodles soup mine fresh plump and delicious her chicken was cooked summer 2021 dry and disgusting. . We asked for the bill machine was brought in no question was everything ok I even mentioned the quality of my wife’s food . Just process the payment no receipt.Hello this is Britain we have please and thank you here not treated like dogs . To summerised and add insult to injury the tables were wiped out with the napkins that earlier the customers were using to wipe their mouth. Hygiene Zero .You use de sinniteser to wipe off germs. I want be going back I do not understand how this people are allowed to trade with such poor standards.

The food was good: classic noodle soup with beef and king prawns. Staff: Fast and friendly. Prices: Ok, but 15% tip is default. Too much in my opinion.

My partner and I have been here for our second visit and it was even better than the first! The chicken wings are sublime, the spicy dipping sauce was hot but also flavoursome and the the vietnamese pancake that my partner had was also really nicely done. I went for the Curry Pho with beef and it was absolutely lovely, I could have eaten another! Loads of beef and noodles, not stingy like some places we've been and her not chicken wok noodles were incredible. Cocktail menu is extensive and very different to the normal stuff and it was well sampled by us, verdict was they are sublime! Service was second to none, friendly and helpful staff, overall a fantastic meal out for not a massive bill! Will be going again for sure!

Mediocre is the best way to describe this Vietnamese restaurant. The food is very average, service is poor ( never deliver any tap-water we asked! No one come around once to ask “how are things going? Is food tasted alright? We also can tell The bean sprout are not too fresh at all. (I took a photo of it)! I understand the difficulty of running a Vietnamese restaurant in Canterbury, but the service can be train and no excuse for foreign flavor or delicacy!

First time but not the last. Really enjoyed most of the food and the service was perfect - only criticism is the banana kids fritters, didn't taste like a banana but more a savoury dish so shouldn't be classed as a kids desert
