I stumbled across this gem of a pub in Brighton and couldn't be more impressed.
The prices are genuinely some of the best you'll find in the area-great value without compromising on quality. Whether you're after a pint or a cocktail, everything is reasonably priced.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Incredibly friendly, welcoming, and efficient from the moment you walk in. You never feel like you're waiting around, and there's always a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
They strike that perfect balance between being professional and making you feel right at home.
Highly recommend for a casual drink, a night out with friends, or even just a laidback afternoon. Will definitely be back!
The lovely aroma had drawn me up the steps to investigate & two of us went to eat on 25/8/22 at 5.30pm. Not busy at that time & we sat outside. I had jerk chicken with rice & peas, a generous amount of tasty chicken with purple rice & black peas which was rather dry & not quite to my taste - next time I would opt for potatoes. My friend had a good size plate of coconut paella chicken. I had the pineapple & ginger juice but preferred my friend's mango smoothie. Friendly helpful staff & we'll be back soon.
Stopped off for a quick pint whilst waiting for my train. The pint of Staropramen i ordered cost £7. After a few sips I noticed an unappealing eggy smell so I politely asked for it to be changed, the staff member smelt it and said there must be something wrong with my nose as she couldn't smell anything and if I wanted it changed I would have to buy another! This is a new low in customer service, rude, insulting and failing to recognise an issue without so much as an apology. Absolutely disgraceful!
Pub with large bar and outdoor seating area. Situated on Church Street in the heart of Brighton's Laines. Good service. No dining at time of writing however bar snacks available.
Encontré este lugar en la estación de tren, ideal ya que necesitábamos tomar un almuerzo rápido. Gran menú y también tiene la opción de elegir su propio fideo / proteína / salsa, etc. Muchas opciones vegetarianas también. Porciones calientes, frescas, sabrosas y enormes. ¡Ojalá viviera más cerca!
Food was delicious, the sauce that comes with the sea bass was amazing. And they substituted the House salad for the Caesar salad without complaint which I really appreciate. But it took over an hour to get any food to me from when I ordered to when I was served, and midweek that is bad. They apologised for it which is good, but I can't ignore how long service took. On the bright side they let me in despite being dressed as a hobo, so they don't discriminate.
The King & Queen on Marlborough Place in Brighton is a traditional public house built on the foundations of a twelfth century farmhouse serving coffee, beers and cocktails with various specials, local, wider domestic and imported. They also have a menu of great looking pub fare, although I didn’t sample their wares. It has been rebuilt a couple of times over the years and opened in its current form in the 1920s. The interior decor is where old meets new with traditional stained glass, coats of arms, leather couches, low and high top tables and a well stocked bar area. There’s also a more modern Pit Stop area up a rounded stair overlooking the main pub floor. The area is spacious and comfortable with several televisions playing football matches and chill musical ambiance. Free high-speed WiFi is easily available with the network name and password on easily-readable signs throughout the pub. The bartenders are attentive and always ready to answer your questions, make recommendations, and tell you the local history, whether about local brewery Harvey’s in Lewes, or the evolution of the grounds and buildings. There are also several gaming machines, a pinball, and a pool table. If you’re looking for a historic pub to relax and recharge, this is the place to be.
