I caught my wife in the intense throes of passion with one of the bouncers when I came in to watch the Fulham game with my friends, Eric the Stag and Barry 2.

Affordable place with good deals. Good to watch football matches or to have a couple of pints without spending much. Microwave type food, not the best service (cannot blame them, the place is usually overcrowded) and really noisy.

My wife and I often go to King & Queen. So far we have not been disappointed. We normally order from the "Small Plates" list. The food is always good, well prepared, freshly prepared and definitely a treat. Bar staff very polite and efficient. This place is a lovely place, whether sitting inside or outdoors. We think it's good value for money.

Can't speak for the food or atmosphere as I was refused entry for absolutely no reason at all. I put a cigarette out and asked if there was somewhere to put it, so I didn't litter. Two incredibly unusual and passively aggressive door "men" took it upon themselves to insult me, suggest I never come back and that I had a bad attitude. Can't say I'd ever go back there. The two that opened their mouths were very rude, unreasonable and presumably in need of a cuddle or something. They must have been so unloved growing up, I really do feel for them. Alas, I found a bar that allowed me in and had a great night, but I feel sorry for anyone whose face might not fit. When these guys are around, I can guarantee you'll not enjoy a minute if your time here.

Absolute toppers. For a few days in Brighton during a European football round, it is difficult to watch the Dutch matches. Asked if this was possible, and we tried everything to broadcast the Dutch matches, and with success. Being able to watch both Ajax and Feyenoord matches, despite the fact that English football clubs were playing there. In addition, a super nice atmosphere, good beers and nice people. Recommended if you are in Brighton. Food is okay, but not very special. Especially a nice place for beers and a good English atmosphere.

You can choose it for a fun atmosphere and delicious tastes.

Great atmosphere and service in this pub! We visited after getting married and had a lovely time while we were there. The staff were friendly, taking pictures of us on the winding stairs etc and the ale was good. This is a great pub within a very interesting building! Well worth a visit!

Big pub, food was reasonably priced but average...weatherspoon vibes...

Service was great and drinks were ordered were well made. Decent selection of pints and vibes were good. We came in the middle of a weekday but I bet when football is on, this place is PACKED. Pool tables upstairs and lovely seats by the windows to people watch. Deffo worth a stop.

Visited on bank holiday Monday & unfortunately had sold out of first 2 meal choices but choose fish & chips as 3rd option & it wasn't a disappointment 😋 beautiful old building with so much character 😍

Pleasant enough pub. Bar staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. There were a couple of knobheads that entered before the bouncers came in shift although, that's not the pubs fault. Just had the one beer and on to the restaurant.

What a pub! It is very spacious and the atmosphere is awesome. I can tell they take care of the pub very well, it was clean throughout and the beer, especially Guinness tasted so much better than any other pubs I’ve visited. Also the food was pretty good.

Visit this place whenever we’re in Brighton as it’s such an usual pub, looks tiny outside but is actually quite cavernous inside. Drinks are reasonably priced and service is always friendly and pretty fast even when they’re busy

Went to watch Aussie Rules football there. The staff were very accommodating. I will go back again.

Had to re-evaluate my score after today's rude doorman. Saturday 25th May 24. Came to watch FA Cup Final, The doorman (Heavy set guy in his 30s with short brown hair and short beard) was IDing a group of teens in front of me and when I went to walk in (I'm 38 and haven't been ID'd in years) he demanded ID. I said "I'm 38" and he condescendingly shouted "oh congratulations! Happy birthday *getting the attention of the other bouncer* hey did you hear he's 38!? ID!". After I produced my ID he sarcastically laughed "yeah just checking to see if ACTUALLY ARE THIRTY EIGHT!!!!" Im a regular here and have been for 20 years and I've never had a problem with any doorstaff here before and am good terms with most of them but this guy was rude and overstepped the mark. A simple "sorry I still need to check" would have sufficed. Instead he set the the tone and soured the afternoon for me.

My wife and I attended a friend’s wedding reception 10/5/24, the function room was well set out and guests were looked after completely. The bar staff were fast, professional and friendly, even at the busiest of times. I’d also like to thank Elise for being a genuine “people person”, ever smiling and attentive, as she sold and distributed drinks throughout the evening. We all had a great time.

An old favourite of mine, a great, very large pub in Brighton has outdoor covered area and an old coach house look to the place quite close to the sea front well worth a visit.

A good pub where you can eat typical English cuisine and drink good beer. I tried their Fish and Chips, very good and it was fried well, not greasy. They have a wide choice of beers, not just English. Compliments!

We went there on a school trip with my students to have cream tea. The service was exceptional and we'll come back for sure.

Lovely kings breakfast which was reasonably priced but every brown sauce bottle in the place was empty which is sacrilege!

Atmosphere was good with the football on. Food and service I can’t comment on as we were refused food, even before the cut off for ordering happened. When I asked to speak to the manager he came over, wouldn’t speak, and gestured with his hands for me to shut up and go away. That’s shocking customer service and with a party of 12 of us has ensured we won’t return.

I went with my class on the trip and the atmosphere was nice with the football match broadcast on a big screen, I think it's the best pub/bar in Brighton.

I recommend the halloumi and red pepper burger, was reasonably priced and tasted great!

Great pub. Bar staff are friendly, approachable and helpful. We went in to watch day 1 of Cheltenham. They happily put the TV on the right channel with no problem. Last 2 races were on Racing TV which due to a lack of local interest they don't subscribe to which is fair enough. Food was spot on and bar prices are pretty good. Definitely recommend

I visited this restaurant because I heard it was in a 200-year-old building decorated in the style of 400 years ago. I simply had fish and chips and beer and it was delicious. It seemed to be a restaurant frequented by local residents as there were billiard tables and dart machines on the first and second floors. I saw the soccer schedule written at the entrance of the store, so it seemed like a place to gather for soccer games. It was a pleasant experience.

It's like an independent Wetherspoons, reasonable drink prices and always busy - but definitely more athentic of an older time period. Shows great live sports and has a few pool tables. Huge outside beer garden, reminds me of October fest when in season, but very popular with Brighton's student demographic, so be prepared 😅

First thing you'd notice is the sheer size of the pub, in my opinion that's a plus as it comes off as a surprise, from the outside it doesn't look nowhere near as big. Service was alright, although it does take a while to buy something as the night goes on, understandable considering the popularity of the pub. The outdoor area is nice, the placement a bit off when compared to other pubs, but spaced out well enough to not feel too crowded. Atmosphere is great and the historic theme of the establishment really compliments the long history of pubs. Its capacity in having people in does allow for a wide variety of people to come in, one more different than the other. Overall, great place for a quick stop or the night's conclusion to a hangout, recommend.

The pub is large, crowded with people, and has two large screens. The staff seems friendly, but there are a lot of strange people because there are so many people. I was racially discriminated from the moment I entered. The staff working as guards just giggled along with us. Other than that, if you open the door and go in, it's fine.

I used to love this pub a few years back, used to be a really lovely place to go for drinks with friends, until i came here last night, from the moment we walked in all the staff were rude and miserable. There was a group of me and my friends who came to the pub yesterday and there was not much seating so we ask a bouncer if we can sit upstairs and we says yes, we all go upstairs and pay for a game of pool to then the manager Marty comes upstairs and starts telling us to get the out (not politely ) and gives us no time to finish our game , we question him while we are up there and calmly ask if we can finish our game and let him know we were told we were allowed to be up here, he proceeds to argue back with us aggressively and rude toned , to then my friend who’s clear birthday it was as she has a birthday headband on he says to her “go downstairs you sl*g” i am absolutely disgusted by this man and the way he spoke to us and especially the language used to a group of young women. Marty was the name we were given for this man. will not be coming back and will make sure others are wary of this man.

This pub holds a special place in my heart as it was the first pub me and a few mates went to when we were all allowed to drink! All round a really nice pub, with lots of traditional quirks dotted around and dark wood all over the place! They even have a function room which they used to let out, not sure if they still do ? The garden is very large space with lots of cover and heaters down the side booths! They often have a good selection of beers as well as some cocktails. I'd say pricing wise is about on par with most of the pubs in Brighton. I've seen a good mix of people here they have good student nights as well as putting games on when it's on. Food here is okay but very basic, it would definitely serve as a convenient snacky type deal. They also have three pool tables, two upstairs and one downstairs. The one downstairs definitely feels a bit on the dinger side as it's the corner of a slightly smaller part of the pub. Also fit with a foozball table and a couple arcade game tables dotted about!

A cracking place for pool and chatter. Plenty of space. We went in a quieter earlier part of the day but anyone dropping in seems to also appreciate its a cool place. Massive bar, friendly staff, upstairs bar area and seating. HUGE drinks selection. Make your way to it, get a cocktail... its awsome.

I don’t know the bouncer’s name but there was unfortunately a creepy man who was looking at all the young girls (this isn’t common for this pub). I told a bouncer and he took me serious straight away and spoke to the man as well as telling his colleagues to keep an eye on him. This man is so so lovely and is so friendly when we come to this pub. I have never had a bouncer be so considerate and kind. He deserves a pay rise please protect this man at all costs<3

Really like the spaciousness of this pub. Have had many great nights out dancing in the past here. Loved that we easily got a table for drinks with friends just before Christmas '23. Friendly staff. Historic building in a good location. Good cheesy chips!

Best pub experience in Brighton

한국 땅끝마을 해남과 비슷한 영국 남부 브리스튼. 400년 전통의 왕과 여왕의 맥주 음식점은 실내 내부가 축구경기 보면서 떠들석하게 음식을 먹을 수 있게 되어 있었고, 당구장, 오락실도 있었으며 외부엔 칵테일바도 운영하더군요. 마이리얼트립에서 런던소풍의 투어 여행으로 가이드 추천받고 갔으며, 클래식한 메뉴에 80z 등심 스테이크가 13파운드에 암스텔 라거 생맥주 500짜리가 5파운드로 3만원에 미디움 고기 썰면서 감자칩과 함께 맥주 한잔 시원하게 했네요. 배도 부를 정도로 양도 있고요. 330ml 현지 세븐 시스터 흑맥주는 달달한 과일향의 상온 맥쥬였습니다. 다음에도 온다면 다시 먹고 싶네요. 분위기도 좋고요. 직원들도 친절하네요. 아마 조용한 평일 오후 3시에 가서 그럴지도 모릅니다.

Gigantic pub, massive really. Sports on large screens though as good as it is could do with a few more to make sense of the space. Still nice service, friendly team today, mainly HUK beer range including 3 Brixtons. For a biggie match you would consider here

I was booked into a nearby hotel for an overnight stay with my partner and was looking for somewhere I could grab a bite to eat as well as catch the early game of football on the tv. This seemed like the perfect place, December 23rd at 12.39 in the afternoon I was greeted by friendly security guys and upon entering the place it seemed nice. If you are watching the football I would get there early as there are lots of tables but only a few offer good viewing of the tv’s! Up to the bar to order my food and drink. A friendly girl served me and I walked back to my table. As I sat down I took a sip of my beer and it was tasteless! Being in good spirits and polite I was just going to accept it but thought I best go to the bar and at least report it for their knowledge. The member of staff behind the bar sympathised and ask if I would like another one poured? She then kindly brought this over to me, ‘that’ll be £4.85 please’ I laughed in disbelief and said ‘Oh you’re charging me for it’ which wasn’t a major gripe to me as it’s in my nature to and I was very much in the festive spirit but as soon as I could reach for my phone to pay a guy stood next to her whom I assume was the bar manager and was instantly ready for an argument! In a very aggressive manor he said ‘Of course you’ve got to pay there’s nothing wrong with it’ he continued with ‘Well it’s a fosters pint out of a Fosters keg so..’ after stating most places would be a bit more understanding but it’s not a problem I’ll pay’ I was basically told ‘Well go drink in those other places’ I had been in the place no more than 8 minutes already spent £40 and was willing to spend a lot more. I didn’t deserve to be spoken or treated like that. In fact in 24 years of visiting pub/bars I have never been made to feel the way I did that day! I must add two more things. The second pint did in fact taste like beer/fosters unlike the first one and I have a successful business that I have run for over 12 years if I had the bar manager’s attitude I would not be in business! He is a disgrace to a nice establishment. JT.

I come to the pub to see my friends , to have nice time togheter . When I go to the bar to been serve , was one lady there, she told me is the manager !. I was waiting there for 20 minit to be serve , and when was coming my turn the lady she go from there to serve another people , but I was the next one 😞😞😞 When I ask her why she did that , she told me, to leave the pub , I feel very very bad , is horrible , you always have to respect your costumer, you can’t be rude like that , I think she was rasist and she told me I shout on her , I talk with her with disrespect , and she didn’t serve and she tell me to leave , is never happend this in my life , I feel very bad , never come again, and I hope the lady to respect more her costumer

I love King and Queen im 54 so have been there a few times over the years. The outside decoration were just beautiful. So took photos. But inside its like a grotto stunning! Music was great and mulled cider 👌

No rating for beer selection but the few local Ales on cask were great. You can almost guarantee when you walk into a pub these days that the first set of taps that greet you are the adulterated swill lager choices of Amstel, Heineken etc
