Dorset Street Bar in Brighton and Hove

The hamburger was delicious. And the rest of my family had fish and chips. And they sad to me that it was amazing. The serves was also good.

Ordered a caesar salad, got about 5 pieces of chewy chicken , very few croutons, lots of green salad leaves and couldnt taste the cheese. All in all a very disappointing experience and not worth the money. Not recommended

Struggled to find pubs that were happy with teenagers in Brighton. These guys are, lovely little place, only had couple drinks but food looked good too

Came in yesterday (Sunday) to try the roast out. Service was fantastic! I had the veg wellington beetroot roast, was gorgeous with the soft pastry and the flavours! Buttery peas, Potatoes were lovely and crispy and gravy was thick which I love! My wife had the maple burger and said the chicken had lots of flavour and was a great burger with thick cut chips and a lovely side of salad! Definitely coming back at some point.

Really good pub. We sat outside and enjoyed our drinks the service was great especially Mark who looked after us and was really attentive.

Fancied some food and I saw the Dorset which looked lovely and cosy inside. Lovely bartender with a nice smile and happy vibes. Ordered the Ale Battered Fish and I was not disappointed! One of the nicest fish I’ve had in a while. Will be coming back in the near future again to try it!

awful, bar lady didn’t know what she was doing and didn’t even put through our food when we ordered. we asked after 40 minutes where it was and then it was put through. About an hour wait for some bang average food!!!

Cozy, central pub with friendly bar tenders. Daniel and Katie were polite and welcoming. Loved the fact they have real fire 🔥 and they allow Dogs in as well.

Food was tasty but over priced for the portion sizes, especially compared to other pubs with similar menus in the area. The two lads in blue T-shirts who were dealing with tables were superb, friendly and professional. There was however one guy serving tables in a black tshirt whose obnoxious singing was off putting and general manner was very strange and put myself and family at unease.

The singing “manager” was off putting and we found him to be a tad tedious. The chaos in blue T-shirts were superb and attentive. Just a shame about that certain member of the team with the moustache. Food was lovely so compliments to the chef!

My friend and I both ordered the Roast Chicken as the special Sunday roast and it was delicious! The chicken had a nice seasoning on it and was cooked well and I really enjoyed the roast veggies and gravy that came with it. The Dorset has a nice atmosphere as well.

Just called in for a quick drink, found the guy behind the bar rather rude and had attitude. Think he thought he was being funny but it came across as rude frankly. Don't need it thanks. Drinks and bar itself pleasant enough but won't go here again I don't imagine they will care.

Came here on a lovely sunny evening and badly wanted the food to be at least OK, but it was bad, to the point of being quite frankly inedible. I ordered the Fish and Chips and the Fish was chewy like cardboard, burnt dark brown and literally couldn't be eaten. I left the fish and just ate the chips that were actually OK (worth 2 stars). The server came out with a free dish of nachos, which was compensation for the fish being so burnt and shrivelled but I didn't actually want nachos I just wanted a fish and chips that was not like eating a 20 year old slipper. Nice atmosphere, nice beer, nice staff, terrible food

We had to get a wristband placed on us in order to get into the pub on a Saturday evening. This meant queuing up with other confused customers waiting for this to be placed on your wrist. We then had to queue for over 5 minutes to get served. The place was very busy and warm, so we went outside. My husband then wanted to go to the toilet but was told at the exit we had just come through that he had to go back through the main entrance to get back in. He went to that entrance, but there was an even bigger queue, so he ended up going across the road to use the other pubs toilet. Many customers were commenting on the wristband policy, which nobody could understand and just seem to cause a queue, confusion, and yet more waste for the environment. This was the only pub we visited in the centre that served drinks in plastic cups. We will not be going back.

Been coming here for 20 years. We used to live it so much. The last year it’s just been terrible food wise. It’s a great place to people watch and enjoy a beer and chat but do not eat here. It used to be one of the best pubs in Brighton for food but over the last year we have had chicken & beef burgers, schnitzel and others and it has been so disappointing. Also the staff are OK and polite but it wasn’t busy and they just couldn’t cope. Menus have literal food on them. Everything is a bit yuck. It has such a wonderful atmosphere this pub but has really gone down hill.

Visited the Dorset again for lunch. Good food, arrived quickly, and again, H made the bar visit well worth it.

Lovely place to sit and people watch lovely wine pretty poor cocktails had I not seen them hand shake it would have thought it was ready made. We were going to order food but the state of the chefs and his whites certainly put us off

A mother's day lunch with family, first time there, for a sunday Roast as per their internet ad...no roast beef on only roast chicken ,the menus were dog eared paper, no deserts left except ice cream. The table was sticky all over as we sat down..the meat pie was baked so hard needed a hammer and chisel,roast carrots seemed like they were old heated up ones .All in all not good ,won't ever be going there again . The waiting service was good. Shame about the food.

Visited yesterday with my wife and 2 grandsons. Food and drink was very good. What really made it for us was that the people serving were very friendly and great service. Would certainly come again.

I would never eat here again. Tiny menu. The caeser salad was vile. The manager refused to try it but did refund £4 for my half eaten chips.
