Madeira Cafe in Brighton and Hove

Nice people who own this place, ordered sausage and chips and 2 cans of soft drinks nearly £12,wouldn't mind paying this if food was good ,chips were oven chips sausage was average nice location rubbish food 👎

Esto ahora se llama Fish and Dips. . . . Tuve un terrible desayuno aquí esta mañana. Me gustaba mucho este lugar y era un poco tradicional desayunar aquí cada vez que visitábamos Brighton. No lo hará de nuevo. Completo slop de comida. Todo cubierto de frijoles, champiñones cocidos, hoyo de tomate, salchichas que parecían haber pasado una vez y creo que había huevos. . . No podía decir que estaban bajo la chatarra de frijoles. Curiosamente, la tostada sabía a pasta de pescado. . . muy raro. No estoy seguro de qué tiene marrón era que no era marrón, era suave y flexible. Muchos de los lugareños se sentaron, así que pensé que todavía estaba bien. No fue hasta que nos fuimos después de apenas comer nada de la comida que nos dimos cuenta que ninguno de ellos estaba comiendo, solo bebiendo té / café. Evita a toda costa, ¡mucho mejores lugares para comer! ! Pruebe la bandeja de basura adyacente. . . CERO estrellas.

A las 12:35 hs pregunté si estaba a tiempo de pedir un Full English Breakfast. Primero me dijeron que sí, después miraron la hora y me dijeron que no. Bueno, gracias, dije y cuando me estaba yendo me dicen no 0K te lo hacemos.El desayuno estaba bien, 2 salchichas, un huevo frito, 2 fetas de panceta, porotos con salsa de tomate y 1 tostada con manteca. El café también estaba 0K.

Nos detuvimos aquí en el día de Año Nuevo en la lluvia torrencial después de un juego de golf loco. Estábamos fríos y húmedos. Los dos caballeros muy amables nos recibieron y tres tazas de té aparecieron en doble tiempo rápido, seguido muy rápidamente por una botella de agua caliente para calentarnos. Esta es la primera vez para mí, nunca me ofrecieron una botella de agua caliente en un café y era justo lo que necesitábamos.Pescado y patatas fritas en todas partes con una porción de niño pequeño de gambas para una abuela muy pequeña. Estos chicos fueron súper amables, la comida fue rápida y deliciosa. El precio también fue muy bueno.No es comida lujosa, es un buen pescado y papas fritas, y lo recomendaríamos sinceramente a cualquiera que pase por allí.

Siempre nos detenemos aquí primero para el desayuno en cada visita a Brighton: Greg y Brian nos hacen sentir bienvenidos. Está frente al mar y a dos minutos del muelle / sealife; Es una excelente relación calidad-precio, la comida es buena y está bien presentada, además es amigable para los perros.

Arrived there shortly after 0800. Drinks only, as they were setting up. Place opens at 8am, so why weren't they ready? Went somewhere else instead.

Si después de relación algo sencillo y bueno en la costa este se simplemente bien. Desayuno y roll tenía salchichas bacon (no grasosa) y una taza de té, justo lo que queríamos, y el chico que nos servía era muy conversador y simpático.

Mal servicio, la camarera no decir mañana, no como nosotros, para ver si necesitamos ayuda o lo que quiere tomar. Sin uniformes. No higiénica, el chef de cocina no lavarse las manos antes de hacer el desayuno, starte fryes en sucias de aceite haga. Y lo peor es que la comida es muy mala y uno 00 orden en el plato bice y otros orden en el plástico playe. No volveré a este horrible lugar.No recomendo estos restaurante.

We decided to have chips before we got back to car when we had a day in Brighton. Very nice chips, lovely view.

Stopped there for a quick breakfast. Staff were really friendly, food was excellent. Thoroughly recommend the sausage and egg breakfast bap! Very tasty. Proper old school cafe. Brilliant.

was here for the brighton mod weekender. great friendly staff and the atomsphere was fantastic. free wifi was available as well!!

Este es el lugar para patatas fritas y una taza en un frío día de noviembre. Viajar con mi perro, significa normalmente sentarse fuera. Me senté tranquilamente al calor de una botella caliente el agua, antes de café delicioso mi chips. Buena compañía fue suministrada por uno de los clientes habituales de moteros y el dueño del café. Inglés adecuado junto al mar.

Tenía una taza de té, café y chocolate caliente. Vimos el desayuno inglés completo, así que decidí probar. El desayuno era bueno, especialmente la croquetas de patata y morcilla. Vale la pena una parada.

Having heard it was biker friendly and next to the motorcycle bay we decided to eat here. when When the staff actually bothered to serve us rather than talk amongst themselves we were served with luke warm chips and a bland sausage. i was hungry having ridden down from Ashford but I actually left more than half of mine uneaten as did my wife.There was food laying on the floor encouraging pigeons but no effort was being made to clear it.The staff also appeared to be wishing that they were somewhere else.NEVER AGAIN

Cannot fault- great bacon roll to start the day and a great British mug of tea to get you going! The fried breakfast looked great although didn't get to indulge. Really fair prices also with loads of outside seating for hot summer days (or mornings in my case) but also inside seating too! Really enjoyed sitting outside watching the bikers drive by!

I see that the majority of the positive reviews are about the food tasting nice. Whilst this may well be the case I think people would think twice about eating here if they actually watched how it was being prepared...So myself my partner and daughter sat at the medeira cafe and ordered fish and chips and burger and chips. Well whilst the fish and chips looked relatively normal, the burger bun had green MOULD on it! I took it back and pointed it out to the woman who just took it out of my hand and said 'I'll get you another one'! She then showed it to the man who wasn't at all bothered and they both began to prepare another one, however they picked up a bun from the same bag, I called out and said I hope you are giving me a bun from a different batch to the last on! He picked up the bag of buns, all of which you could clearly see MOULD all over them! He then picked up a burger with his hands whilst the girl took out a new bun and held it in her hand, she then opened the fridge and used her fingers to sprinkle the grated cheese on then handed it to me. I didn't even get a sorry! They couldn't care less and was as if it was a completely normal thing to have happened!! I was actually quite shell shocked and just walked off feeling sick!!I sat down and then began to observe. -So they all use there hands for EVERYTHING. -They rotate on the tills and food so they are handling money and then handling food.-At no point did I see anyone wash their hands-The man in there looks filthy, not trying to be nasty, but his fingers were black and his personal hygiene is clearly not a priority. -coughing without covering his mouth-He is touching everything. I watched him take the rubbish out, pulling his trousers up, coughing and spluttering...then straight back in the kitchen to serve food.It made me feel physically sick to watch this. They need to get their act together. So as I say while the food may well taste ok, have a think about what actually might be lingering on it!

After a long drive for the historic vehicle run we decided to refresh ourselves with a coffee and bacon roll. Just after my partner had taken a bite we noticed the man in the kitchen LICKING his fingers BEFORE picking up items to put in the rolls to serve to the waiting public. When my partner shouted asking him what he was doing all he could say was he couldn't find the tongs!!!!!!! No apology, no offer of a refund just a roll with added stranger saliva and we were all left feeling extremely nauseous at the thought. With the high risk of cross infection the motto for this cafe has to be EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK, ketchup 5p a serving but additional saliva free

Every year we go down to Madeira Drive Brighton to see the Historic Veteran Car Run arrive from Hyde Park. For us the best way to do this is to arrive by about 10.00am- see the first car to arrive and sit at this or one of the other street cafes with a continuous supply of tea, coffee, bacon rolls and later fish and chips for lunch.Tea, coffee, bacon rolls and fish and chips were all excellent and so were the vetern cars. the weather was a real bonus too!

Always a pleasant Cafe to visit, good selection of decent food not at all expensive, plenty of seating, smashing location and Greg and his staff are fantastic friendly people.

Had a lovely typical English breakfast with coffee. Delicious. Took 2 seconds to make and appear on a plate. Tables were constantly be cleared and cleaned. Cheap and cheerful.

Just called in fro a late breakfast and it was superb. Went with a group of mates and went for the fo full English and for the price and quality I do not think it could be beaten. Good quality ingredients well cooked and good proportions.

The worst coffee & latte we have ever tried. Tastes like a leftovers from wash bowl (not that I ever tried that), not drinkable even with various amounts of sugar, which I usually don't add anyway. Discretely and very politely I informed ladies behind the counter about its taste but all I got was "sorry". As I didn't ask for anything back, not a refund either, I sort of would expect at least an offer of glass of water as apology...but no. I saw then coming but doubt that bother passing the comment to him. I strongly advise everyone to not waste your money here.

This café has an excellent seafront location which makes it a pleasure to watch the wonderful view while having coffee/drinks and something to eat. The fish and chips I had were very tasty and the coffee was good too.

Great value basic hangover fry up, in a great location and friendly atmosphere. Traditional greasy spoon

Nice food , hot dogs chips burgers ect, big ques but move quick great location . Right in the bottom promenade Not bad priced either . We had the jumbo hot dog and chips . Not the best quality but great kid food and there was plenty tucking in. Would go again next time we visit

This is a regular stop for most bikers in the area.. Six of us arrived this morning just after half eight along with loads of other bikers.. Food is always good and the service spot on.. Right on the front if the weather is good it's a great view too.. The boss is great at remembering faces and is always welcoming.. This is a no frills classic biker cafe and well worth a stop if you're passing ..

It's a cafe on the seafront and is basically exactly that. No frills, no fuss, just simple food, coffee etc and that's great. They've got a great spot with outdoor and indoor seating. Reasonably priced and friendly.

Don't judge the place by it's rather old appearance....the fish & chips are just the best. The fish is always very fresh with the yummiest lightest batter. Chips are hot & crisp and you get a good cup of tea too. The guy who runs it works very hard and is always cheerful. yes you get paper plates but so what...you do get real knives & forks and a proper mug for the tea. Plenty of people eat here, especially passing bikers. Great sea view with lots of people/car watching to do.

Seafront Cafe visited by bikers with free bike parking just in front. Outside seating with views across beach. This is the last cafe at the east end of the row of outlets as you walk away from the roundabout in Madeira Drive just by the steps going up. It's a little tired looking but serves a reasonable breakfast. I've been coming here on and off for 6 years or so , usually had china crockery except on one occasion when a large coach party had used all the china. Service has always been friendly and efficient. A reasonable seaside cafe with a great location.

Stumbled upon this whilst on our bike tour. To be honest I was a bit apprehensive as the place looked tired and grubby. Shows you you can't judge a book by its cover. This biker cafe was fab. The service and the food was fantastic. This place is must. Southport carousel bike stop needs to take a leaf or two from this old dog..... And the council need to speed some money doing the front up..

I don't like giving negative reviews but when a fish and chip establishment in a seaside town has the audacity to serve frozen chips with its freshly caught fish, it deserves it. Why also is food served to adults on paper plates?The only thing really going for the Madeira is the location which overlooks the beach on the east side of the pier. There is plenty of choice of fish n chip places in Brighton and I will not be returning.

I was in Brighton and after popping in to a couple places both witch told me I would have to wait 20-30min for a table I decided to get some food from Madeira drive cafe. Food was great and although I though it was a little expensive I did not have to way 25minutes for a table unlike harvester.
