I just left here after having scampi and chips - definitely the best I have ever had!
The scampi was delicious - large portions, soft and tasty.
Definitely will recommend and come back for more.
The lady serving was polite and always had a smile.

You’ll probably find some better pubs in Brighton, but we didn’t have time to hunt them out as the weather was awful. Drinks were good, it’s a cosy place and deceptively big. A decent option for a couple of hours and we didn’t struggle to get a booking. There seemed to be a huge number of staff on though, but no one available to clear our table and we had to queue for ages at the door to get seated. Didnt see the food so not sure what it’s like. It was very quiet on a Sunday evening, but probably more to do with covid etc.

The foods were fabulous.
I love the combination of every dishes.
My starter was braised lamb with fiera cheese and crispy pita bread.
The lamb was so flavourful and tender, which was pretty matched with fiera cheese. Pita bread gave it some crunchy texture, it was so good.
Main was duck breast with cherry sauce. There had some mashed chic pea, it made all the things tasted special, like a magical.
And the dessert was delicious. I really like the pear jelly and the walnut to highlight the Plum parfait.
Although the staff seems very nice!
Both me and my partner got food poisoning… probably bad shellfish, it was smelly and cold and we didn’t eat more than one each… looks like that was enough.
If you know your BBQ, you’ll know the real deal when it hits the table—and The Mesmerist delivers. We had the St. Louis cut pork ribs and the Texas Trinity brisket, and I’ll say this with zero hesitation: it’s some of the best brisket I’ve had outside Houston. No shortcuts, no gimmicks—just slow smoking, proper seasoning, and serious respect for the craft. As someone who runs restaurants, I know how hard it is to get food to this level. Hats off to the team—what you’re doing is rare and worth shouting about.
What a lovely restaurant to come to to enjoy the freshest fish just meters away from the actual sea.
The atmosphere is really relaxed despite the refined menu, and all the staff are clued up and on the ball. They are also really good looking.
We had…. Kimchi steak tartare tartlet, monkfish with spicy mango sorbet and chickpeas, gorgeous mussels in a creamy herby soup, prawns, and of course , oysters in a few different styles.
Highlights were the monkfish, and the rhubarb oysters.
The drinks selection is great- I am sober and didn’t feel like I was missing out at all as the bartender was happy to make a 0% cocktail for me.
It was a grey day when i came here and I still had a lovely time, I can’t wait to come back when it’s sunny.
