The best restaurants in South East

Food not good, and since visiting the takeway has been shut down due to a very poor food rating, they are re furbing but don't think I'll be going back, found the Chinese in Netley is VERY VERY good!!!

Food was awful plus mybill was 8.10 but been billed 10.00, be careful

We wanted a quiet lunch after the festivities had ended. Had visited here years ago when working in the area, but having enjoyed lunch here with my walking group recently, decided it would fit the bill for my husband and me. It's a lovely old pub with a long history, but gladly doesn't go over the top with the olde worlde theme. With three cosy open fires and a warm welcome on a very cold January day, we felt at home straight away, despite not being regulars. Tasty food (turkey, leek and pigs in blankets pie, and Christmas pudding with rum and raisin ice cream), unfussy but attractive, and portions just right (some pubs' portions are way over the top for us!). With the excellent Harveys Old Ale, plus coffees, our bill came to £53.65, which we thought very reasonable these days. Only one slight thing not so comfortable, the men's loos are outside! But this is an old building and I didn't hear anyone complaining (perhaps because I was in the spotless ladies!). The pretty garden would be lovely to sit in come summer. We will certainly return to the Wheatsheaf, and living locally, wish we'd rediscovered it before now. Thanks to all the staff.

Closed down, there's a Starbucks instead

I booked a room at this hotel through Agoda. Big, big mistake. Avoid that site like the plague. They have all the tricks in the trade to avoid you communicating with them. I needed to cancel the booking because I found that the hotel was much further from my destination than I had realised. Tried through Agoda. no chance. So tried to phone hotel. First time after three long attempts a waitress answered and said she couldn't cancel a booking but the owner will be back in 2 hours, She will give him a message. He didn't phone back. Next day, I tried to phone them three times. Each call timed out. I am 84 and use hotels frequently, usually 3 star or above at least 10 - 15 times each and every year since I was 20. The place is clearly a pub / restaurant which runs a few rooms B&B on the side - very unprofessionally have never experienced this degree of non-contact ability.

We came in expected to have the unlimited buffet. I had been here before and they recently just changed the price up to £28. The problem was we could not order more than 1 tray of meat for each person. They even charged £5 to £15 for the broth. At the end, the price doesnt justify it, the place used to be really nice.

I spent 50 for me and family Service is outstanding everyone is cooperative I will. Recommend everyone to at least try once

We needed somewhere in town for a 10th Birthday 🥳 Pizza Express in Tunbridge Wells was fab! The staff, esp. Barbara were attentive, friendly and it was great value for money. The tweens had a great time and I’m a happy Mum! Thanks 😊

Generally a good McDonalds and you get the quality of food you would expect. There has been occasions where a few items have been wrong or missing, we've now learnt to thoroughly check bags before leaving the drive thru.

Not happy with serving 5 chips to a happy meal

Burgers are smaller and smaller, and the place needs some upgrades.
