Pizza Express in Tunbridge Wells

We had a wonderful time celebrating our daughter’s birthday here. The service from Nomazizi was fantastic!

The dough balls where rock hard.

Another great experience at pizza express TW, Erica was very welcoming asked all about allergies, she was wonderful with my daughter. The staff here are always superb and such an easy family meal.

We needed somewhere in town for a 10th Birthday 🥳 Pizza Express in Tunbridge Wells was fab! The staff, esp. Barbara were attentive, friendly and it was great value for money. The tweens had a great time and I’m a happy Mum! Thanks 😊

Visited on a Saturday night. Prices have increased, but so has the quality of the food. Far, far better than recent times - like a completely different restaurant. Much improved.

pizza had burnt edges, it was barely warm and stiff as a the box, not cut properly, hardly edible. I am seriously considering not using Pizza Express again

What a fabulous visit to Pizza express this evening. Unfortunately I couldn’t be accommodated for seating (fully booked due to special promotion) but great friendly front of house organised me a bargain take away 4 pizzas for my family who all enjoyed very much. Thank you Pizza express £1.76! Bargain of the year.

Visited with my family, I’m so pleased that we did our server was Vanessa who was attentive, funny and efficient. She made our experience really special.

Few months back we had a very bad experience at the Tonbridge branch. But we thought of giving the one in Tunbridge wells a try and I am glad we did. We visited on Saturday and the whole experience was fabulous and it restored our faith in this brand. Our server Barbora was just wonderful, she was attentive and friendly. Had a wide knowledge of the menu and playful with kids. Food was yummy and served promptly. Thank you again and we will be back soon!

Ordered via Just Eat- pizza was cold and some of the dough balls I received were much smaller in comparison. Was unable to get a refund from Just Eat. Never had any issues before

Last day of the half term treat (for mama as much as anyone else!) lunch out. The food was delicious, we were a bit early for our res, and were seated immediately and we're the only folk in the place for a while. I asked about the kids deal, and was told to download the app and pay through that. Which I did. When I spoke to another member of staff I was told that was not necessary? I'd rather not have countless apps and businesses with all my deets, when it's not by my choice. It felt a bit cheeky, like I was tricked into the app and I was a bit upset that I'd spent time and effort doing it all for nowt! The food came quickly, it was delicious, the service was not friendly and I'd probably not rush back to that restaurant in a hurry. Edit Feb 25 - another school holiday/kids eat free sesh and this time the experience was far far superior. The staff member who was hurried/rude/unhelpful last time was not there today. All the staff we had wait on us today were really helpful and kind. We were a table of seven and again the food was timely, our orders taken quickly and everything was absolutely delicious. We've been to a few Pizza Express restaurants and this ones quality of food actually is really good. Everyone ate every scrap of pizza :) thanks for the visit today, will be back again this time ;)

It’s often daunting visiting a restaurant with a five year old and two year old. However, we had a wonderful experience at Pizza Express on the weekend. It’s very rare I ask the name of a staff member and then write a review to mention them, but this was an unusually great visit. We were served by Barbara, who went out of her way to make the kids comfortable. She was kind and very attentive, in a natural, authentic and unforced way. Pizza Express is always a good destination for a family meal, but it was extra special, this time. Thank you!

7 of us came to celebrate a birthday. Main reason for choosing here was it being child friendly with an excellent kids menu plus pizza a favourite for us all! Added bonus was that they were doing an offer on pizzas (always worth googling to see if they have offers) Lovely friendly staff. Food was lovely and eveeyone was happy - including a vegan, a veggie and a fussy 4 year old!

Food arrived 15 minutes late and was freezing cold. Complained and was offered £5 compensation on a £25 order. Not good enough & will not be using Just Eat or Pizza Express again

TOTALLY JUST EATS FAULT! My food was cooked and sitting in the restaurant getting cold for 45 minutes before getting picked up! Said 20 minutes, took over an hour to get the food!!!

One of the courses, a pizza, was initially not delivered, then the wrong pizza came, then the right one but burnt and the rest of us had finished eating. The chicken parmigiana was bland and we were not offered, black pepper, parmesan or chili oil. Disappointing. Won't return.

The food was good, the waitress was so lovley! Down to earth and had a laugh with us, and I think her name was Vanessa. I suggest that next time the manager wants to criticise the way she was working, don't do it in front of customers! So unprofessional

Food is decent, but we had to wait 55 mins for 2 pizzas and pasta. It was by no means a full restaurant. Very disappointing.

We had a lovely meal as a family for an 8th birthday. Extensive menu changes (no cheese on pizza, no garlic in the garlic butter etc etc!) and dietary requirements catered for including GF for kids which was great. Hamit was really enthusiastic and helped create a lovely atmosphere for the birthday girl on a gloomy January evening. We will be back!

The service and food were all great. The quality and quantity was all good and the lady who served me couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant - and she said she’d just started, so praise where it’s due.

Just so you know PE. I got a takeaway from Deliveroo from you. £46 for 2 small Pizzas, some Mozzarella sticks and some wings. It was tragic. Pizza stone cold!! had to put it in the microwave. Mozzarella sticks burnt. £46 for utter rubbish. I realise that deliveroo may play a part in this but i'm just not going to bother with either of you.

Came at a quiet time- food was prompt and hot! Sever Hannah was so nice! speedy, friendly and efficient with a big smile! Defo recommend to anyone.. coming back!

Personaly i didn't like the staff‘s behaviour when i went for delivery.

Very very disappointed. Once again deliveroo more important that customers. Waited over 45 mins for main course with no apology what so ever. Waiter could have said at start about waits although he gave the impression we were an inconvenience. Tunbridge Wells have better eateries

Food. Where to start Pizza pollo ad astra.. The chicken was obviously late to the table as was none exsistant very little other topping other than the base of tomato and mazzarella. Nicoise salad little to no tuna zero anchovies the kos lettuce no leaf just stem, no capers Obviously no taste to both Paid about 50 pounds for two people mains with drinks The service was OK but won't be going back anytime soon

It was a great catch up meal with friends. Was pleasantly surprised that the noise volume was much better than I'd expected within the place and therefore it was easy to hear each other whilst we chatted even with a large party nearby. Was warm but not hot environment. Toilet facilities were clearly marked and easy to access and very clean. Food was good however honey dough balls were slightly spice than anticipated and it wasn't until finished the starter that realised the honey was in the side dish and not actually over the balls when served 😅. All friends had the new salad in middle of pizza ..novelty idea but looked nice and I had pollo pesto which was lovely and had to finish with tirimasu 😋. Another nice idea that they now do is the mini dessert with coffee or tea on the side..brilliant idea 💡. Great evening and thank you Pizza Express for the excellent table service.

Dropped into Pizza Express for lunch and although the restaurant was quiet we enjoyed the experience, the service was great and both the mains were well prepared.

Really disappointed by our experience last night. We haven't been to pizza express in 2 years, and my goodness has it gone downhill. My husband ordered a pizza with 2 extra toppings, neither of which were present. We ordered a shared starter ( bruschettas) which arrived at the same time as our pizzas, so we had to eat it quickly to stop the pizzas getting cold. At this point it all seemed very rushed, but there was no acknowledgement that these shouldn't have arrived at the same time. Maybe we should have sent our pizzas back until we were ready. My padana lagera was pretty tasteless, but perhaps the recipe has changed. It used to be so tasty. My husband's pizza seemed very small, much smaller than the pizzas on other tables, and was obviously lacking the 2 extra toppings which would have added flavour. When our plates were cleared, by a young lady she offered a dessert menu but never brought it and promptly disappeared never to be seen again. We then sat for over half an hour waiting before finally getting someone's attention and some dessert menus. Yes, we could have sent our pizzas back, and we really should have had the extra toppings removed from the bill, but by then, we'd had enough. The restaurant was half full and there appeared to be plenty of staff on duty.

Pizza was impossible to eat, it was like chewing cardboard.

I loved the pasta but feel a bit upset about the drink I got delivered. I had ordered the Oreo coke which I was excited to try however I received a normal coke which is ok if there isn’t the Oreo one in stock, I just wish I would of been notified about that. I also have no way of opening the coke as I ordered the delivery to my work place. I’m now just sitting here looking at a coke I can’t drink and it’s making me sad.

Not really a good value meal out any more. Many of the previous deals are no longer an option. The overpriced 'Dough Balls Al Forno' are in desperate need of garlic butter & are very bland without it. We asked for garlic butter & got charged 75p each for it, which I don't remember being charged for before, and we weren't told at the point of asking. Nothing really wrong with the food, but nothing particularly special either.

Well, if we were allowed in this could be different. Arrived around 4:30 with only 1 table being used. Greeted by a warm welcome. Requested a table for two, and was then told that “we would need to leave by half 5”. When asking for clarification, the male FOH staff replied “At 5:30, this restaurant will be full. You have 45 minutes to eat and get out”. Safe to say we left. Whether it was the northern accent that scared him, or the fact he may have to do a job and serve a customer I’m not sure. Certainly will never be going back.

Driver forgot one of the pizza in my order at the store and didn’t come to recollect it

We had a wonderful family lunch on Saturday. Barbara our waitress was brilliant. She was interested in helping, gave us great ideas for food and was kind and helpful. A brilliant waitress and we had a perfect meal as a result. Thank you all (chefs as well).

Really disappointing experience last night - whilst the food was nice, the service was awful. We had to wait ages for our starter (despite other tables who arrived and ordered after us, getting theirs before) and even when this turned up, we were still waiting on 2 more dishes. When these did finally arrive, our mains then came out 30 seconds after - completely defeating the point of getting starters. One of the waitresses was very apologetic but the manager came over with our starters and offered no apology. Additionally, there were no offers to take anything off the bill to compensate for our poor experience.

After an hour and 15 minutes of waiting for the food, decided to go down and ask the status they brought the pizza eith one of the pizzas totally wrong. No apologies or no smile. Had to say no to the wrong pizza. Lady at the door wasn't happy us even wanting a table to start with. Horrible experience and as a tourist coming from Dubai this is a pathetic experience for a name like Pizza Express.

Pizza Express is known as the bog standard English pizza place. Could it get worse? I returned to the restaurant after COVID. When one thinks that the standards cannot get lower, I was able to surprise myself: 1. The pizzas were about 20% smaller yet the same price as when they were bigger. They were dry, small, the cheese was industrial, and the meat was also dry which means it was frozen meat. Cheap, frozen pizza are better. 2. The lasagne were served furnace-hot which, obviously, means that they were frozen and microwaved. The pasta was sloppier than tinned pasta and swimming in some kind of cheese and runny sauce. Clearly, this was a chain that thrived when people did not travel to Italy enough and when the Italian competition was scarce. Either Pizza Express upgrade their products drastically without without charging even more ridiculous, extortionate prices or they can shut !!

Walked into a half busy pizza Express and asked for an upstairs seat because downstairs was full bar one small table and upstairs was 90% available. Was told a 45 min wait for upstairs table. Sorry you’re turning away good custom with your ignorance. Lost £100 what an asset to your company you are

Cyclist took well over an hour to deliver this food it arrived cold and all slopped around the bag. Located in the cinema car park for 5 minutes?? Not happy at all, would like a refund for this awful meal that wasn’t enjoyed.

Visited twice now. Once on valentines day. The food and service was fantastic on both occasions. The establishment is a little cramp although we did enjoy sitting on the first floor looking over the rest of the restaurant. Looking forwards to our next visit.

I don’t really know what to say. But I think you can get better pizza from the shop and put it to your oven by yourself and it will be much better than what I received. Money wise and with taste for me this one was big disappointment. My first and last order.

Such great service by Hannah the face of the restaurant. Can tell she lives with the motto live, laugh, love. What a free spirit she really lit up the place with energetic and persuasive attention to details when serving to her customers. The pizza and service from Hannah we aligned with each other. Spicy 😉

Perfect lunch out. Greeted at the door, served quicky, food delicious, staff friendly. Tip was optional. Also a decent looking place with lots of seats upstairs and outside too.

Wow what flavors, these pizzas get 10/10. As we arrived later, I am so grateful that we were able to order and take away. Many thanks for good service and wonderful pizzas.

Undercooked and overpriced food. Good service but the pasta is so poor. I like al Dente but this pasta was raw. Prawns are so small they are hard to find. Shall never use Puzza Express again. Better to find a real Italian restaurant.

Food up to standard, but service disengaged and disappointing. In the end we had to leave without our coffees because of a long wait.

The food and service was great. As it was not busy the atmosphere was okay and would have been 5 stars if it was a little busier, this is obviously not the fault of the staff.

Had a fantastic time at Pizza Express Tunbridge Wells. Out part my of 12 felt very looked after by Barbara who was friendly and attentive.

Wasn’t impressed when I was served a pizza with no centre and a flimsy little salad. Our waitress was kind enough to replace the pizza after explaining that the pizza with a hole was on their healthier menu.

Delicious food! Was very happy with my purchase. The service was wonderful, very smiley friendly staff and confident too, makes you feel looked after. Lovely atmosphere too. I look forward to returning soon

Sat 30 Dec 23 (lunchtime, upstairs) Everything was excellent, as always. I don’t often write reviews but we had such amazing service from our waitress that I felt that one was needed! (I believe her name was Barbara). Our four year old was being rather fractious and uncooperative but Barbara spent time chatting with her, completely won her over and could not have done more for our group. She was charming and friendly, and is definitely a credit to Pizza Express. We had a wonderful lunch because of her care and attention. Thank you so much.

Stone cold and burnt not edible at all

Very unpleasant experience; I ordered a delivery from this Pizza Express today, my order turned up late so the pizza was cold and some of the items were missing. I spoke to the manager Sally about it and she told me to take it up with the delivery driver. The delivery driver told me he was late because the restaurant gave him 2 other orders to deliver but he could not explain why there were items from my order missing! ☹️

Thé piccolo pasta is really good but recently they stopped charring the edges of the pasta so I has lost its crust but the sauce is still amazing
