Well, if we were allowed in this could be different. Arrived around 4:30 with only 1 table being used. Greeted by a warm welcome. Requested a table for two, and was then told that “we would need to leave by half 5”. When asking for clarification, the male FOH staff replied “At 5:30, this restaurant will be full. You have 45 minutes to eat and get out”. Safe to say we left. Whether it was the northern accent that scared him, or the fact he may have to do a job and serve a customer I’m not sure. Certainly will never be going back.

We had a wonderful family lunch on Saturday. Barbara our waitress was brilliant. She was interested in helping, gave us great ideas for food and was kind and helpful. A brilliant waitress and we had a perfect meal as a result. Thank you all (chefs as well).

Slow service, got a few bits of our order wrong. Food lovely though.

Really disappointing experience last night - whilst the food was nice, the service was awful. We had to wait ages for our starter (despite other tables who arrived and ordered after us, getting theirs before) and even when this turned up, we were still waiting on 2 more dishes. When these did finally arrive, our mains then came out 30 seconds after - completely defeating the point of getting starters. One of the waitresses was very apologetic but the manager came over with our starters and offered no apology. Additionally, there were no offers to take anything off the bill to compensate for our poor experience.

After an hour and 15 minutes of waiting for the food, decided to go down and ask the status they brought the pizza eith one of the pizzas totally wrong. No apologies or no smile. Had to say no to the wrong pizza. Lady at the door wasn't happy us even wanting a table to start with. Horrible experience and as a tourist coming from Dubai this is a pathetic experience for a name like Pizza Express.

Walked into a half busy pizza Express and asked for an upstairs seat because downstairs was full bar one small table and upstairs was 90% available. Was told a 45 min wait for upstairs table. Sorry you’re turning away good custom with your ignorance. Lost £100 what an asset to your company you are

Cyclist took well over an hour to deliver this food it arrived cold and all slopped around the bag. Located in the cinema car park for 5 minutes?? Not happy at all, would like a refund for this awful meal that wasn’t enjoyed.

I don’t really know what to say. But I think you can get better pizza from the shop and put it to your oven by yourself and it will be much better than what I received. Money wise and with taste for me this one was big disappointment. My first and last order.

Visited twice now. Once on valentines day. The food and service was fantastic on both occasions. The establishment is a little cramp although we did enjoy sitting on the first floor looking over the rest of the restaurant. Looking forwards to our next visit.

Such great service by Hannah the face of the restaurant. Can tell she lives with the motto live, laugh, love. What a free spirit she really lit up the place with energetic and persuasive attention to details when serving to her customers. The pizza and service from Hannah we aligned with each other. Spicy 😉

Perfect lunch out. Greeted at the door, served quicky, food delicious, staff friendly. Tip was optional. Also a decent looking place with lots of seats upstairs and outside too.

Wow what flavors, these pizzas get 10/10. As we arrived later, I am so grateful that we were able to order and take away. Many thanks for good service and wonderful pizzas.

Undercooked and overpriced food. Good service but the pasta is so poor. I like al Dente but this pasta was raw. Prawns are so small they are hard to find. Shall never use Puzza Express again. Better to find a real Italian restaurant.

6pm Monday not busy. Guy on door has his back to us as we walk in. "Evening" I say, no response. "Hello" I say no response. "Okay, we'll go somewhere else I say", still no response. We left!

Better than expected: 12.5% surcharge but this is T.Wells! Clearly a good business model 'cos 95% cover utilisation. Great for kiids too.

Nice pizza, but Italians may dispute that. Personally I can't complain. A little expensive so not too many a visit I'm afraid 😅 enjoy.

The food and service was great. As it was not busy the atmosphere was okay and would have been 5 stars if it was a little busier, this is obviously not the fault of the staff.

Had a fantastic time at Pizza Express Tunbridge Wells. Out part my of 12 felt very looked after by Barbara who was friendly and attentive.

Wasn’t impressed when I was served a pizza with no centre and a flimsy little salad. Our waitress was kind enough to replace the pizza after explaining that the pizza with a hole was on their healthier menu.

Delicious food! Was very happy with my purchase. The service was wonderful, very smiley friendly staff and confident too, makes you feel looked after. Lovely atmosphere too. I look forward to returning soon

All the wrong stuff I ordered was freezing cold with all the wrong stuff not the things I ordered I want a full refund please this is ridiculous

Forgot an item of food I ordered and when I rung up they said they had left it in the oven and said sorry but we can't do anything about it. Refused to deliver it

Sat 30 Dec 23 (lunchtime, upstairs) Everything was excellent, as always. I don’t often write reviews but we had such amazing service from our waitress that I felt that one was needed! (I believe her name was Barbara). Our four year old was being rather fractious and uncooperative but Barbara spent time chatting with her, completely won her over and could not have done more for our group. She was charming and friendly, and is definitely a credit to Pizza Express. We had a wonderful lunch because of her care and attention. Thank you so much.

Stone cold and burnt not edible at all

Very unpleasant experience; I ordered a delivery from this Pizza Express today, my order turned up late so the pizza was cold and some of the items were missing. I spoke to the manager Sally about it and she told me to take it up with the delivery driver. The delivery driver told me he was late because the restaurant gave him 2 other orders to deliver but he could not explain why there were items from my order missing! ☹️

Thé piccolo pasta is really good but recently they stopped charring the edges of the pasta so I has lost its crust but the sauce is still amazing

Firstly a bit disappointed with the way the pizza had turned up.. a lot of the toppings had gone to one side, the pizza wasnt even cut into slices, just as well i was at home. Also it wasnt very hot when it turned up.. Secondly i was a bit disappointed the dough balls never came with any garlic butter to dip them in, so they were a bit dry... But the driver was efficient and very polite...Thanks..

Popped in for a table on a Friday evening not thinking we would be successful, a lovely lady greeted us at the door and had a table available. Lovely waitress who was very accommodating and helpful. Food was delicious! Between the 4 of us we had lasagnas and pizzas 😋 Thank you to the chefs… they were working hard!

Ordered at 5:55pm for a 7:10pm delivery. Status didn’t change from a thumbs up from the restaurant to delivery driver on way to restaurant until 7:12pm, already 2 minutes late of the requested time for delivery. Status finally changed to driver at restaurant and remained like that to the doorbell ringing. At one point, clicking on help and where is my order, it tells me it’s set for a 7:20 delivery but it was already 7:35 by that point. Food was pretty cold other than the pasta which was fine.

Made me wait 2H for a delivery that never came. Why would you accept an order you can't fill? Edit: thank you for your useless reply. I tried to contact the email you provided and received the notification: 550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected: Access denied. Excellent customer care and complaints process 👍 if you stop all complaints from being made then you have no complaints. Genius.

I was in Tunbridge Wells with colleagues and there was the usual circus of finding some place everyone was happy with for dinner. Handily, there's a Pizza Express at the bottom of the High Street so in we went. Everyone had an idea of what they wanted but a new item (for me, at least) was the N'duja Doughballs. We were thinking of ordering more when the mains arrived. My "American Hot" was really fresh and had a great base to it. Best of all was the great service from the waitress. She was really helpful and friendly and made all the difference.

My delivery was freezing cold it won’t let me select the time of it and my cheese bites were freezing and soaking wet it was absolutely disgusting, I’m not happy at the money I wasted at all, the kids meal was fine apart from also being cold but the main meal I’m appalled with the whole thing.

Really good service, lovely bunch of people working here and just delicious food. Especially the carbonara which I always think is SO much nicer with linguine than spaghetti. There’s a lovely buzz to this place which is also down to the layout - lovely dramatic atmosphere with the galleried first floor, spiral staircase etc. BUT the men’s loos in this place are disgraceful. Goodness knows when I was last here but it was quite a long time ago and the urinals were taped off with hazard tape then! Was that months ago? No it was longer than that. In addition the toilets are, euch, grubby, worn, damp patches everywhere. Someone is not keeping the place in A1 condition for its age and type which is the repair standard required by a normal fully repairing and insuring lease. Needs attention.

Good food but waited 50 minutes to get it! The discount of 40% they gave for the wait was fair and reasonable. Restaurants should however give priority to customers who spend money on drinks and not on cheapskates getting take-aways.

Smallest pizza I ever received, tasted good but not great, all the toppings shifted to one side (might not be the restaurant fault could be transport). All in all not impressed

We phoned pizza express and the guy told us the driver had shown up when it wasn’t ready, left, and never came back. We almost had to go and get it ourselves.

Lovely tall ceiling Pizza Express with tables set a decent distance apart. Excellent service, and the wine we wanted was out, so they offered the next available wine, but matched the price per bottle, which was unexpected but appreciated. Burnt ends Pizza and Bosco salad were prepared to perfection, nice and hot on the pizza, so it all felt very fresh.

Always a good experience here - on the very rare occasion there is an issue the staff are always fantastic and resolve fast. Pizza express club means great value for me also!

Over all a good visit, had trouble using or GIFT CARD but eventually went through. When ordering we asked to have the pizza deal i.e. Mon to Weds 7.95. We were told the ones we could choose ad ordered appropriately. When we had the bill, I queried it as we were charged over £10 more than expected. We were tod that we had to have the app to get the deal but we couldn't use our gift card as payment ad get the deal? Why not I am not sure as its a payment not a promotional voucher? On the sign outside there is nothing saying you must use app to get the deal. Spoilt an enjoyable meal and felt a bit ripped off.

Love this place and especially the terrace where you can sit if the weather is nice. Service is fast waiters are helpful and friendly. Some new dishes and pizza 🍕 added to the menu. Prices are like pizza express to other places. Inside is clean and well presented. I recommend this place.

Asked the restaurant to change my pizza order which wasn’t done so pizza was put in the bin as unfortunately I don’t eat what they delivered.

We had a lovely meal at pizza express this evening. Great atmosphere. Our waiter Hamit was very attentive. He is a real credit to the company.

Visited recently with my family and can honestly say I won’t be returning. Halloumi bites - very small portion. Calamari - very small portion, both well over priced for frozen and tasteless cuisine. Sloppy guiseppe pizza - hardly any toppings. Raw slaw was good but again small portion. Asked if we would like any sauces with our meal, yes please, mayonnaise……only to be told they don’t do mayonnaise….. come on, everyone loves a bit of mayo! All that was on offer was garlic oil or chilli oil. The worst £200 I’ve ever spent.

Had an impromptu dinner with the family. I always order the same leggera padana with ham. This was one of the best ones I ever had. Staff was polite and working fast, as it was getting busy. Really recommend booking before your visit, if you don't want to get disappointed. We were lucky as we had an early dinner!

Pizza are fine, but that last thing you want when eating one is feeling guilty about it. It really puts you off eating pizza when you have the calorie count next to every dish and no option for a menu with out it. Take it off! This should be an option at the customers request not a standard.

Was not shown the same courtesy as other guests and wasn't shown to my table. Location where we was seated was basically a corridor next to the office or back of house. Not enough space for staff to serve food or drinks but we know how to speak clearly and pass the food/drinks to the person. Staircase is a spiral staircase so had plenty of occasion where I came across staff coming down the stairs carrying stacked glasses and giving me very little room to get past maybe company need to invest in a dumb waiter lift save any possible accidents of staff/customers getting hurt. Gents toilet looked like it needs some work see pictures sink tap not facing the right way.

Even though the food was as you would expect, the thing that stood out most was the service/server that we had. He was absolutely perfect and was extremely intuitive to our needs. We were a table of 7, 3 kids under 8 and he handled everything as if a walk in the park. I'm not sure of his name but we left talking about him and not the food!

My friend toke me out for a belated meal on Friday and the waiter who served us was absolutely amazing so friendly, funny and kind even putting a candle in my ice cream and sung happy birthday it was a wonderful night and both the food and service was absolutely amazing differently coming back again

Food was freezing cold on delivery as Deliveroo driver didn’t use a hot box. Food was inedible and couldn’t be reheated as was delivered to Pembury hospital. Unfortunately as Pizza Express use Deliveroo by choice this problem falls on them, as Deliveroo attitude was an £0.89 refund and not their fault.

Overall very disappointed. The service to begin with was slow and poor throughout the night. Our waiter did get better but far from perfect. Also the amount of staff standing about doing nothing I would have thought could have assisted us and other waiting for long periods of time. Our starter was stone cold in the middle and we waiting ages for it to be heated up and given back to us. You would have thought they would have changed it, and the time we waited for them to reheat mushrooms was crazy. Main meal which were two pizzas were great no problems. Sadly getting the bill also took just as long. Very disappointed with the services, not what I would have expected,

The food was great as always cannot fault it! However the women serving was very unfriendly as well as creating a hostile environment. She made us feel unwelcome and like she was in a rush to get rid of us bearing in mind there were many empty seats in the restaurant

Staff (Especially Barbora) at this Pizza Express just seemed so happy and helpful. Our two year-old had just had her Flu spray that morning so was not herself and quite fussy but did not put off staff one bit and they were very friendly which made our anniversary lunch extra special.

Visited here with my partner a few weeks ago service was friendly and efficient. I was happy with my food. We both ordered pizzas was very happy with the food quality. Good location but yet not too loud. Would visit again. Plus side also you can use your Tesco Clubcard vouchers which we did. Bottle of peroni are expensive about £7/7.50for a large bottle off Memory. Would recommend pizza express though
