Full House in Brighton and Hove

Popped in last night for dinner with my friend. Not usually one to give poor reviews just usually don't go back again but think I should warn future customers. The food was average but the customer service was poor especially when they brought the bill over. I appreciate it is a Chinese restaurant and the text ofthe items we ordered was written in Chinese however the figures on our bill did not match up to the prices advertised on the menu for anything we ordered. Only when I pointed this out they said they would change it. They had added a substantial amount to each dish. Just check your bill if you do decide to dine here.

Got the fried shrimps were amazing but the stir fried noodles with chicken were lacking flavor and had a burnt taste to them

Amazing! Always have such a good time here the food is always 10/10 and the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable on the dish to order. I always bring friends and family here and it always goes down well.

I can't comment on whether it is authentic Chinese or not since I have never been to China but the menu certainly offers some items not usually found on other Chinese restaurants I've been to. Afraid of trying anything new, we all ordered the more familiar items which were all really good and huge portions. One main would easily do two people - but it would be a shame to just share one dish. It was very quiet on a Sunday evening but the other customers were mostly Chinese which told us it was good. The decor is tired and dated and the service slow and clunky - one main dish came out just as we were finishing the others. The kitchen was juggling with quite a few deliveries at the same time and we did notice that orders were sitting there for quite some time before being collected by the drivers. Prices are good.

We have been regularly visiting Full House for a long time. Unfortunately, since changing their menu the portion sizes have gone from reasonable sized good value for money, to having the dishes bulked out with rice and hardly any sauce, vegetables or meat. Disappointing to say the lease when you are spending around £20 per person to eat there.

The best Chinese food in Brighton. Order the authentic dishes like the whole sea bass in chilli, century eggs, Mao’s red pork belly and mapo tofu.

I ordered a delivery via Deliveroo from Full House and I was pleasantly surprised, it's really hard to find a decent Chinese takeaway nowadays but this was worth it - ordered a Chicken fried rice, Beef chow mein, spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken and prawn crackers (of course) they were all good flavoursome and what you expect when you order a Chinese takeaway! Would order again

Overall it's pretty good and I want to come back again. I ordered three dishes, fish-flavored shredded pork, tea tree mushrooms, and sweet and sour pork loin. The fish-flavored shredded pork and fungus were a bit lacking. But people who love meat will prefer it because it has more meat. The tea tree mushrooms are a bit bland, so I asked for salt and added it myself. Sweet and sour tenderloin. The vinegar isn't acidic enough, but the tenderloin is crispy. Sitting in the store, you can see the chef cooking. The fire is full, the vegetables are fragrant, and the tenderloin is steaming and delicious. the most important is. All the service ladies are polite, courteous, friendly, and have nice voices. The view out of the window is very atmospheric, and the entire hall is bright. The environment is very nice. Reasonable prices and large portions.

We now regularly visit Full House. The restaurant specialisies in authentic Chinese cusine. On our visits we always order from the 'spicy menu', and we have found the portions to be plentiful and varied. We often visit with our friends, and they enjoy the food as much (one is of Asian heritage, and she always requests to go back). They also offer a hot pot option, which we find very good value for money. I would throughly recommend this place. The aetheic could be improved, but don't judge a book by it's cover!

Incredibly hospitable and friendly restaurant. Cooked our 9 beautiful, freshly caught sea bream to perfection (3 different ways - grilled, steamed and deep fried!). Sides were amazing (water spinach 😍) and special fried rice was top top. Go here - the food is wonderful and the staff are lovely 谢谢

We had a delivery from Full house today and it was excellent, delivered in good time and the food was first class. No MSG, and all dishes tasted great. The special fried rice was really good, They even included complimentary spring rolls. I highly recommend.

It’s a shame I ordered a takeaway noodle dish, and wasn’t provided plastic utensils. I don’t think I should ask, it should be done anyway. Also, the dish? All it was was roast pork and vegetables at the top, then at the bottom is the noodles. It wasn’t mixed in at all and ended up throwing it out. Try it for yourself but I am not going back. Even the man at the front desk was rushing me and not really friendly.

The advantage is that the environment is very good, and there are gifts during the Chinese New Year. The 25￡ self-service hot pot set I chose is a good deal. The duck blood is very tender and I think it is delicious. Unfortunately, there are very few types of seasonings, but you can't force it in the UK. The disadvantage is that the dishes I ordered again were disappointing. The chicken fungus was very dry and hard, the fried rice was soggy and had no special characteristics, and the pumpkin cake was completely unrecognizable as a pumpkin cake. Asians even find it not as delicious as the food my friend cooked in the kitchen. Maybe this restaurant is aimed at Europeans. I will probably come back to eat hot pot again, but I don’t want to challenge the dishes in the short term.

The proprietress is super friendly. I like Sichuan food very much. I took my classmates to experience Chinese food for the first time and ate it all. The taste is quite authentic. Highly recommended.

I was taken to the Full House by some Chinese friends of mine for a very authentic Chinese meal and I thought it was great. I let them order and we had some amazing dishes. The fish (cod) in like a soup, was delicious. Likewise, the spicy frog (yes, frog) was excellent (mind the bones) Lots of other lovely things, such as fried buns, prawn toast, beef noodles, fried rice. All worth a try. Full house isn't a fancy restaurant but the service was good & the food was excellent, so give it a try.

Couldn't do enough for us from finding us a table, me being in a powerchair, to going to buy Bananas so we could the dessert we wanted. Very friendly and courteous throughout. Reasonably priced meal. We will be back.

Recommend ordering from the second, more traditional menu - a good example of the Chinese ‘eat the whole animal’ ethos. We weren’t quite adventurous enough for the pigs ears, but the chilli sea bass was lovely!

The place has recently been smartened up a bit. The menu is large, and includes lots of interesting authentic Hunan dishes (it was recommended to me by a Hunan student). I think these are much better and more interesting than the bog standard “English Chinese” dishes that are also on the menu. The fish in chilli oil, sea bass with pickled vegetables, aubergine with chilli and minced pork fo sample are all very good (the two fish ones are expensive and large enough to share between two unless very hungry). Some other dishes are less interesting, though it depends on what you like: the chilli fish has lots of Sichuan pepper and chilli - much like Sichuan flavours - and is quite hot and potent, so won’t be for everyone. They also have hot pots but I’ve not tried them yet.

We've been eating here regularly for a couple of years now and the quality of the food is consistently high. Just bypass the 'Anglicised Chinese' menu (in blue) and go straight for the full-blooded Hunanese; these are spicy, flavourful, mouth-tingling dishes that mean you can never go back to Chicken with Cashew Nuts or Sweet and Sour Pork. Try the Lotus Root in Chilli Sauce, the vast bubbling stews or the Soft shell Crab - it's not bland food and you may get a few surprises, but push yourself a bit and you'll discover a whole new world of Chinese cooking. The place is almost always buzzing with young Chinese and Korean students, which is a good recommendation in itself.

Authentic Chinese food with huge portions and great prices. I recommend the seabass. Definitely go as a group to try a bit of everything and order from the traditional Chinese menu! It’s so flavourful and spicy. Best Chinese food I have ever had.

When you fancy a last minute takeaway delivery you can’t go wrong with Full House. A tad expensive and the large bottled soft drinks lunatic at £3.50 but the food is generous and delivered within 30 minutes expecting at least an hour. Will definitely be ordering again.

The first time I ordered from here, I used a food delivery app, thinking that it was actually a completely different takeaway place. When I realised my mistake and it was actually 'that buffet place by St peters' I was totally shocked and I have to say that it was a great lesson for me to learn. I've also learned that ordering directly through their website is cheaper than the delivery apps. Excellent quality food and some eyebrow raising authentic ones too amongst the nation's favourites. Have already used again.

Food resnable good portions worth a try

Came here for dinner with the family and first you have to realise that there are 2 menus. 1 menu is the more normal Chinese that you would expect in most Chinese restaurants and the other menu is with dishes that are more familiar to mainland China. The normal Chinese dishes were good, nothing special but the kids enjoyed it and left full and satisfied The more traditional Chinese food was very spicy but really really good. It uses the peppercorns a fair amount so slightly mouth numbing but much more subtle that other Sichuan restaurants and easy to pick them out of your don't like them. But these dishes aren't for everyone's taste. Depending on which menu you order from will massively change your perspective of the food and whether you enjoy it or not.

The lunch menu is very cheap and perfect for a quick and easy bite to eat. We enjoyed the pork dumplings and the duck. Bosh.

Pasamos de casualidad y un restaurante chino no suele fallar. Nos convenció porque toda su clientela era asiática y estaba abierto tarde. Como suele ser normal la carta es extensa y tienen el tradicional hotpot pero nosotros fuimos grano. Comimos algo estándar, cerdo agridulce, pillo con limón y tallarines con pato asado y todo estuvo muy bueno, mención especial el pollo y el cerdo, con un buen punto crujiente. Con bebidas fueron menos de 30£ para los 3 platos y bebidas. Ojo con la lemonade, que es un simple sprite.

We had the dim sum which was amazing! Is the most reasonably priced Dim Sum in Brighton! Edit: Since posting this unfortunately the pricing has been increased by on average 20% per item.

Really great Szechuan noodles & steamed prawn dumplings. I love this place & I used to order from them regularly, but they’ve increased the minimum delivery spend to £25!

Majority of times I order something goes wrong. Once a complaint is made either nothing is done OR a replacement is given a while later with nothing complementary to apologise eg. prawn crackers or a drink. Food was brilliant and the best I had eaten in brighton however, recently is not as good as before

The waiters were really rude and kept laughing at and talking behind the customer's backs. Asked if we could have the leftovers packed, they weren't happy with the ask and on top of charging us 50p for a flimsy plastic box, they made us pack the food ourselves. The service was extremely bad, the servers rude, but the food was good !

When we arrived, my boyfriend and I were looked at weirdly and there was a hostile environment in the whole shop due to our presence. We got a hotpot buffet which was delicious, however when the lady brought our menus to the table she quickly scratched on new (and higher), prices for us. Everything that was previously free (such as the flavor of the hotpot or the noodles) was suddenly an extra 5 pounds, whilst other customers didn’t seem to be getting charged. Before we were served we were reminded that we were expected to pay?? Which seemed mildly insulting and racially motivated. Either way, we ate and got tf out. Wouldn’t recommend to any POC due to this behavior.

SERVICE CHARGE TRAP 1) Food – ordered mushroom soup and hoping for unique Chinese flavours, but received salty water with chopped mushrooms 2) Customer service – bad, like in most Chinese places. Lady literally wanted to convince me to use designed ceramic spoon as opposed regular cutlery, so they do not need to wash it 3) Interior – budget oriented, with messy items all around the place, including dirty cloth and bleach next to my table 4) Price – I was passing by in the evening and thought I will warm up myself with quick soup for £3 as per menu flyer on the window, but paid £5.20, including £2.20 service charge which is abstract extortion

I recently had the pleasure of dining at "聚湘缘" and I must say that it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor was beautifully appointed, with traditional Chinese touches throughout the space. The tables were well spaced out, giving a feeling of privacy and intimacy. The service at "聚湘缘" was impeccable. Our waiter, a kind and professional woman, made sure that we had everything we needed and was available to answer any questions we had about the menu. While she did not make recommendations for us, we were able to easily choose dishes ourselves from the wide variety of options on the menu. But the real star of the show at "聚湘缘" was the food. From the moment the dishes started arriving at our table, it was clear that we were in for a treat. Each dish was beautifully presented, with vibrant colours and appetising aromas. The flavours were bold and authentic, with a perfect balance of spices and seasonings. Was a little worried when I was handed the menu. Food seemed very 'authentic' especially when I saw things like stewed frog on there. Had crispy chilli beef as it's one of my favourites and I can honestly say it was one of the best I'd ever tried. In fact the whole meal was very impressive and reasonably priced. Would definitely eat there again.

Delicious food and great service. A lovely restaurant. They were very helpful and attentive to our large group that didn't really know what they were ordering! Be aware the portions are large - we ordered far too much. Highly recommend. Sorry no photos as we devoured it 🙂

The food was good. But we got water spilt down us from the waiter and then one of my friends slid on the water while getting up from his chair. His only got a broken arm. But it was quite scary.

Ordered a takeaway from here purely based on delivery time. 2.5 hrs later it arrives. Driver clueless to what's going on sent away. Won't be going near this place ever again.

The food was okay but the service was terrible. The waiter over there looks angry. When we asked for takeaway boxes, he just threw takeaway boxes and bags on the table and told us it was 50p extra. It is not wrong to charge it extra but there are nicer ways to speak to us.

Awful food ...Ginger and spring onion chicken no flavour of ginger whatsoever think they mistook the onions for it ! Full of normal white onions hardly any chicken and literally three pieces of spring onion. No fresh ginger. Egg fried rice looked as if it had been burnt and had two tiny pieces of egg white in it. Will never use this place again and definitely will not recomend .Avoid if possible.

I love this kind of cuisine. So different from typical UK Chinese takeaway style. Richer, more flavoursome, more varied. And a decent hit of chilli in some dishes.

Very comprehensive menus with some rarer dishes. We picked from the lunch menu and the food was delicious. Portions were huge and the price was right. Highly recommended.
