Terrible experience. We arrived at 8:00 pm and we’re looking forward to a meal as the place looked fab and we had just arrived on holiday. However on arrival at the bar when we asked for a menu the guy behind the bar said “ we’re not doing food now!” To which I replied “ but the board outside said you serve food until 9:00!”. He replied “ well we’ve been busy today !”
A you believe it !!!!!!!! I was at a loss for words but what I should have said is “ surely with the board outside advertising food until 9:00, surely that’s breaking trade descriptions.
Appalling attitude !
Been to this place a few times owner goes out of his way to make sure you get the food you want .food is freshly cooked hot and well presented.if your passing stop in you won’t be disappointed. Great food great service and a warm welcome ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The food was a similar quality you'd find in a high end restaurant in London and the service was fantastic. A nice pub with a homely feel! Would highly recommend
Didn’t get the chance to try, turned up and notice on the door says ‘closed for the foreseeable future under new management’ would love to try when it is open so review not a true review o
f the place.
Nothing really wrong with the service but I had the most disappointing fish and chip supper I’ve had in my life from this place this week. They used to do you a big box of crispy chips for £3, they were beautiful. Now every time I go here the chips are soggy and disappointing, might as well eat boiled potatoes instead. Fish was also completely bland. Standards need to improve like they were before.
Very dissatisfied
Lovely local pub, great food and plenty of room to eat, surprisingly bigger than it looks! Nice atmosphere, Plenty of locals but still friendly and welcoming.
I ate alone and did not feel out of place
Book this place at you peril. We rang before our booking date as Google was saying site was permanently closed, the site owner didn't let us finish our 1st sentence before he was rude and obnoxious. Then we were told our booked "tent grass pitch with electric hook up" which looked lovely on the site pictures would be on a hardstanding at the side of the road. When I asked how you pitch a tent on a hard standing (didn't seem an unreasonable question to me) we were told to F'off. Decided to book elsewhere, to be honest the bloke can keep the money we paid, I'd rather lose £170 than speak to this bloke again.
This was my first visit to this restaurant - and not the last!!
The menu had a great selection, especially for Gluten Free options, which was important for my family. The food was tasty and well presented. The service was amazing, and Frankie really looked after us. I had really good value for money and will definitely return. Many thanks
Would not come into my block even though I said I was on the ground floor. The paper bag was in pieces as dishes overfull. Not happy with meal, some was ok, most not. If you have mobility problems don't expect any help.
A great little pub with friendly bar staff and more than reasonable prices on the drinks they serve.
Extremely dog friendly. So much so, that my four legged friend pulls on his lead to go in, even when we are just walking past.
The 2 star for food is not really a negative, it is simply because they only do bar snacks.
However, these are of good variety and always well stocked.
For sports......You can see a screen from all locations except the toilet, and it even has a whole wall dedicated as a screen, at the back of the pub.
There is also a screen in the garden.
Overall, a great pub with great local people, which has welcomed me and my wife since we moved here some years ago.
Recently refurbished, very tastefully and to the character and history of this wonderful little pub.
Loved it here food was, great staff were great. Love the selection of drinks and all drinks were made with care and professionalism.
Definitely would come again!
I’m a member of an Andover walking group.
9 of us having walked on the Common and along the canal returned to town and lunch.
We had heard that the kitchen at the pub is now being run by “Three Sisters”who originate from Thailand, have only been at the Plume for 4 weeks.
All of us without exception were delighted with our shared starters and mains which varied with a choice 1 of 10 + authentic Thai favourites enjoyed by all and will no doubt return in the near future.
It was quiet on our visit market day, but we’re told by the ladies it’s already very busy at other times, probably a good idea to book.
