Fantastic Sunday roast after a local walk in the autumn sun. Beef was a perfect medium-rare, huge yorkies, great veg. Potatoes could have been a little crispier, but were still nicely cooked. Extra gravy provided on request. Huge portion. Very friendly staff. Great choice of drinks. Make sure you book on a Sunday - it was packed. We sat in the bar area to eat, as were many others. Restaurant area also available.

Honestly, by chance we found this wonderful little pub. We hadn't booked and when we entered, even busy they found us a table. Oliver and Luna and team were amazing. The food, ambience and just feel of this place was just wonderful. I truly highly recommend the Half Moon in Windlesham and the wonderful team. Everything we order was amazing. The French onion soup, ham hick pate, fish and chips, fish cakes, and desserts. We will definitely take the trip again just experience this service again. So team Half Moon! Love Rosie and Glen xx

I haven’t been to this pub in a long time, so was looking forward to trying it again. It was sadly very disappointing and I will not visit again in a hurry! The inside of the pub is lovely, our waitress was very polite and friendly, but the food was a HUGE let down. We sent back our starters, as they were completely inedible - and I’m really not that picky when it comes to food! The crab was grey and mushy and the cheese sauce on the rarebit tasted of something very unpleasant, unsure what it was, but we both could not eat it. The mains were not much better, under cooked chips with my warm-ish burger and fat/gristle in the chicken salad. The wine was nice, but at £35 a bottle it should be! We had to ask for the starters to be removed from the bill, as initially they weren’t. All in all, rather disappointing.

Horrible and rude customer services and was kicked out because my boyfriend has a valid ID for a drink he ordered, but I had a coffee and didn’t have my ID (as I wasn’t drinking). The bar man took our payment and then turned around and said I need to see both of your ID, even though I wasn’t drinking. After asking for refund, the manager viciously handed me a £10 note- despite me paying by card and asking for a refund by card. The manager spoke to us so rudely, without any proper reasoning for kicking us out. Don’t come here, the staff are rude and very disrespectful. Headed to the Surrey Cricketers after with no issue at all.

Outstanding, as always, it’s why we keep going back. Lovely pub, great food and excellent staff, they do it ‘right’ here, in our experience. The only downside is that it isn’t within walking distance, so if could be dismantled and moved to the end of my road, that’d be marvellous😉

Fantastic pub on a lovely sunny day. We were in a family group on Sunday, 6 adults and 4 young children celebrating two family birthdays. The pub was packed, the food was excellent despite a long delay between the starters and the mains being served. The staff were very attentive and efficient and couldn’t do enough for us. The Children’s Play Area is the Jewel in the Crown. The cask ale was very good as well.

We had looked on their website to see what the menu was like and on that we booked. We got there and was shown to our table with a tentative staff. We were asked if we wanted to order drinks which was not too bad (a little bit pricey) but was really nice. We were given the menu and there was a large board with other choices, but when we asked about them, we were told that they weren't available and only choices were on the paper menu which we had. We asked why on their website that the Sunday menu was different to what we had in front of us, they said that they had cut down the choices and that they should have updated their website, which was a little disappointing as you look online and think yes I'll have that, but then not. The main course (roast beef/pork) was very nice. Afterwards most of us had dessert (but I didn't like the limited choice) again what was online was better, so missed out on that. Whilst sitting having our meal we noticed that one of the table was thick with dust and the waitress started laying the table without even noticing or cleaning it. Apart from a couple of minor things the experience was good.

Very disappointing visit to what used to be a lovely pub with a warm atmosphere and good food. Recently taken over by Youngs brewery it’s had a face lift which is very much a case of style over substance. Everything was too much trouble for the staff. 2 of our party ordered chicken kiev but it didn’t contain any garlic butter, I mentioned this to a member of staff and they did nothing I mentioned it again when I went to pay the bill and was told I could provide feedback on their website. As we left, the manager told me he heard about our complaint and that he would give us a free dessert on our next visit. I think that is rather assuming there will be a next visit.

This used to be my 'go to' with family & friends but now i would certainly hesitate. The booking was changed on the day due to a wedding (so why not tell me when i booked 2 days before)?, the service was poor and the food worse. All dishes were of low quality. I was shocked at the response of the manager who claimed to serve many meals without complaint. Step up guys - what happened to listening to your customers? Arrogance on your part is misplaced - youre only as good as your last serving. Customer feedback should be embraced. I doubt i'll visit again.

A really lovely pub set in a beautiful location. Great selection of wines & beer & if the weather is dry, sunny & warm, try dining in the garden area as it’s beautiful. We had their Whitebait & Devils Kidney’s as a starter which were both delicious, nicely presented at the table & both piping hot. We both had Fish & Chips for our main, a nice size fish portion in delicious, crispy batter. These were accompanied by a portion of mushy peas which lacked flavor & were not nice & quite a few of the chips were hard & undercooked, but overall a lovely dinner. Will definitely return as we live only a few miles away in sunningdale

Sausages with crushed potatoes very dry and the dish just didn't work! Please consider serving with mash and gravy! Chicken Kiev, no garlic cream inside and chicken very much overcooked and dry! Service was good but the main large dining room was empty so no atmosphere. The food was bland and expensive. They had a special of Steak & Ale pie and two of us opted for that as struggled with main menu. Unfortunately the pie had finished so offered us 3 mini pies instead - they came out and I was finding it hard to find any filling. Also the pie was served with cabbage and peas (no peas when it was served) - no mash (although they did me some) and it came with bizarre gravy that was congealed! For £20!! Too expensive as the quality is not there and the main menu was difficult to choose - I know it’s all down to preference but the choices were not good, I won’t come back in a hurry, maybe just a drink in the garden in the summer!

We had the Burns Night menu starters and mains and a bakewell Tart from the standard menu. The staff checked in regularly but not obtrusivly. Lovely to be offered more gravy without havibg to ask. The piper was an unexpected touch that brought a real Scottish air to the evening. We'd definitely go back. My only criticism would be that the wine list is expensive, and a range of basic house wines would be a good addition. That said, the choice of wines was still excellent.

The food is very limited for a dinner menu and we had mould on the bun of a burger. All three burgers were dry and they appeared to have been prepared many days before serving. I would not go to this pub for food but...

Booked a table as I wanted to take a couple of colleagues for dinner. Have to say we weren’t disappointed - friendly staff, excellent burgers (it was Burger Wednesday) and good range of ale on tap. Car park has limited spaces but there’s on street parking nearby. Must make a note to visit more frequently..👍

I really love this old pub, the atmosphere is great and for a beer it is perfect. However the food is a bit mediocre - filet steak and pork that is dry and over cooked, deserts that felt re-heated. Wine was great, but service on this day was average at best.
