We visited today for Sunday lunch a party of 6 including 2 grandchildren (2 and 5 years old). After ordering and paying (!) we waited for 53 minutes for the food to arrive - actually it needed a reminder, and even then my son's roast pork was forgotten and had to 'plated'. The food was very poor - not that anyone came to ask - with the veg tasting like it had been made at 8am and kept warm in a steamer. My potatoes were uncooked in the centre. The whole experience was reminiscent of school dinners from the 1960s.
I'm still astonished, 8 hours later.
A once lovely village pub has now been ruined by the current manager. Many locals have since had to drink in other establishments within the village after many years at the Half Moon. Racial
Discrimination was never a part of this place until now. This has no place in our village let alone in society.
We visited this establishment. When arrived only two tables in garden.
Ordered food garden filled up we waited well over an hour. When asked told some people before us ordered sandwiches, so got theirs first !! Other tables had fish and chips and burgers.
When food arrived coleslaw was just mayonnaise, camembert balls were rock hard jacket was so salty and breakfast had no egg. We ate what we could as had a very important visit that we travelled 2 hrs too.
Staff we very unhelpful and uncaring and just brushed off. I myself work in the food industry and found service unsatisfactory and if there had been a reason for delay should have been given the choice to cancel order ! Worst £60 spent .
The rating is for surrounding as kids could play whilst we waited so long.
Really disappointing as had been recommended should have just gone to McDonald's ! As food probably better !!
We found The Fox listed on Brit Stops (overnight stays for motorhomes/campers) What a lovely busy pub in the beautiful ( 5 min walk to the sea and beach) village of Felpham all the staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful - I’ll mention Todd as he especially looked after us as I took his name( thank you again ) The food was really great with a varied menu catering to lite bites and dinners, the wine and beer selection was also very good and all at great value. We also met some lovely locals putting the world to rights with Heather and Steve and pretty much anyone who had a dog as our Muffin insisted on saying hi to everyone. We can thoroughly recommend a visit to The Fox it also has a safe big car park and lots of outside areas to sit and take in the beautiful area thank you for having us Karen and Jim Rennie
I get the impression that the owners are winding the Taps down. The bar staff are excellent, beer is good but often the selection can be poor. Food is no longer available, but you can take food in. The bar is looking tired, the loos are very retro, if 1970s public toilets are your thing. Its a real shame.
We ate here as it was dog friendly but the food was mediocre at best. The offer of a warm sausage roll ended up being one that had been microwaved and of course the pastry was soggy. We also had a baked potato which was barely warm. The cakes looked good but we didn't sample them.
I have just returned from having dinner at this pub. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome. We were shown into the main part of the dinning room which is fairly large and airy. There were only a few other people already eating. We were served by a happy waiter. I am gluten free and never find it hard to find many courses which I can eat. I started with the crab parfait with smoked salmon and prawns whilst my partner had beef on skewers. They were both delicious. For my main course i had calves liver with bacon, spinach and potatoes. The gravy was a red wine sauce which was delicious. It was a very big portion and I did manage to get through the plate. My partner had the beau pork which he said was delicious. We could not manage a dessert but did have two coffees.
The food was really good and I would definitely recommend eating here. The only thing I was put off by was that they added service charge on. I would prefer to have given a tip myself so that the waiter who served us got the tip. Also the amount would be at a discretion of the serves we received.
This is a great place for food or a drink. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Having had dinner in the evening we decided to return for Sunday lunch.the food is of a very high standard much better and not as expensive as many gastro pubs.
We actually had a few trips here, for a casual drink, then lunch and a Sunday dinner. We couldn't fault the food and friendly welcome. New owners, Maddie and Billy made sure we were happy with food, accommodating a very fussy husband. Service from them and staff was lovely. Thai night food was amazing, thankyou Yada. And Sunday dinner, WoW! I have never seen so much food, and gorgeous.
