Visited on 31/08/2024. Friendly, prompt service. Reasonable portion size. Have to be honest - I have had better doner kebabs; the meat tasted a little dry. The chips also would benefit from seasoning.

We've been ordering from Sophies for a few years and have not ever been disappointed, today I ordered what I usually do an XL kebab and large chips and the portion sizes were tiny. The chips are cold, there's hardly any salad and the meat portion is more like a small. I called the restaurant thinking maybe it was a mistake and they were quite blunt and just said this is the size it is thanks bye and hung up. After being a regular customer and telling the lady this I didn't expect to be hung up on. Very rude and disrespectful. You've lost a regular customer. It's only a kebab but its still costing us money and we chose to spend it with this business, not anymore.

Used Sophies for a while and passed few meals have not been at their best. Over cooked, funny salad and rude customer service. Ordered tonight, phoned up over an hour later to be told our meal was only just being started. No apology just ‘we’ve been busy’ meaning we wouldn’t have received our order for another 30/40 minutes at least. Unfortunately food is not good enough to wait over an hour and a half for. Disappointed will not be ordering again.

I ordered an xl Donner wrap with garlic mayonnaise and have been given a donner kebab in a pita bread with barely any sauce. I have ordered from this store at least once a month for the past few months and every time I do there is something wrong with my order. I think I will take my custom elsewhere in the future.

Disgrace. Ordered food at 8.45pm. And it's now 11pm and still no sign of food. It's an absolute joke. They take your orders. And just forget about it. And then they turn there phone lines off an hour before it closes so you can't even call them.

Placed an order just before 10pm said order be with you by 22:40-23:00 been ringing restaurant for last 25 mins no response says user busy , got to 23:00 order changed to enjoy your food and yet no food ever arrived, put kids to bed though ave a treat as birthday so we spent nearly £50 and nothing , never ever had a problem with you guys before always reliable, now most places closed and got no food

Sorry for last review food turned up after finally getting through on phone huge delays on orders there swamped with delays of nearly 2 hours , food arrived all hot and tasty as usual

Sophie’s is normally great. Delivery was an hour late which is whatever as I understand this happens. When it did come, they forgot the garlic mayo on the kebab meat and the kebab meat it’s self just didn’t taste great. Obviously dry but tasted as if it was from the previous night. Garlic mushrooms were amazing. Apple pie crumbled in the box before getting it out so disappointment too.

Really disappointed, food overcooked, salad not fresh, took an hour and half to get here. Been using Sophie’s for a little while and have had a couple of meals that weren’t their best but unfortunately this evenings meal was the decision to not use again

Order was wrong and phoned to say what was missing to be told they packed it themselves and know that it was all there and that they have trusted drivers that they have had for years!!!! They did nothing to help other then say I was lying!!! Don’t order from here!!! They were recommended by family but wish I didn’t listen.

I had lots of chips and not much kebab meat and previously I had loads of kebab meat and this is the 14th time I've ordered from them for the last year. So the price is getting darer for what you get. But it's still very very nice. I wouldn't dis from apart from the size of the portions, and the the calzone was lush but is shrunk from a large to to a medium size which is very disappointing but it was still nice.

The Donner meat tasted bad and had a strange smell Chicken wings under cooked Tried to complain and was told that no one else has reported any problems with the food and refused to help with this matter or try and put things right Definitely will not use this restaurant again 😞

Pretty much on time great pizza

My order from sophies was 1hr 30mins late and arrived without the pizzas. The delivery driver returned to the restaurant to get them as he had left them there. When they arrived the pizzas were not edible as they were rock solid and freezing cold. I want full refund as soon as possible.

NOT PROBABLY , the worst lack lustre shish kebab I have ever had , each cube of meat was sliced into three pieces , if I'd wanted that I'd of got a doner , the salad was far between and sparse with chili sauce that made me feel cold , a large shish that I lost weight eating . RIP OFF. I won't be returning there .

we order our food at 18:35, it was estimated to arrive between 19:20 and 19:40. it got to 19:49 and still no sign. so we contacted the restaurant and we were told they are doing it now and it'll be with us by 20:15. an hour and 40 minutes after we placed our order. Sophies is usually really good and the food is delicious, just really poor on the delivery side of things tonight.

Lovely kebab and excellent portion sizes. Delivered hot. Only slight thing to moan about would be the pitta of kebabs was really mushy so didn’t eat it but the meat and salad etc was stunning!

Food was barely warm, kebab meat was very dry a real let down as ghe food is normally good from here

Really nice food, all hot and delivered on time. Only thing for me was the chilli sauce wasn’t to my taste, was more like pizza sauce with a hint of chilli, but that’s just my personal taste, Garlic mayo was lovely.

Usually a good place to eat but a little disappointed tonight. The chips were overcooked and hard and the 'chilli' sauce was just a tomato type sauce...like marinara you put on pizza! Good reviews for the burgers though!

I’ve just finished eaten a Doner Kebab. I’ve had Donors in the past, but this was fab. More than enough meat, lovely hot chilli sauce, and a good portion of mixed salad. I shall savor this Kebab until the next time, which will be very soon.

Lid on the garlic Mayonnaise was not on correctly so that had gone everywhere, lid on kebab was not on correctly so that had spilt everywhere, mayonnaise was so runny it was dripping all over my carpet and making a huge mess and stain. Just eat we’re not interested in helping as there was no photograph, sorry my carpet is more important to me than stopping to take a picture. Disgusting was to treat customers.

I love getting food from here always spot on, they didn’t have a half and half option so I asked in the notes box and they did it for me which was very kind when you have picky children but don’t want a whole cheese pizza lol reasonable price too only £18 and fed me and my 2 children and left overs 👍🏻

Please listen to this review I’ve never wrote a review in my life but I honestly need to warn others of how bad this food is we brought 5 different meals they was all horrible coved in salt even the salad the chips was chewy that’s the word of my 7 year old honestly terrible food when reported was told because we have had some no refund will be given even though you need to eat it to no how bad it is please don’t go near

The food was great. But Coca-Cola felt like was expired and bottle was opened and all fizzy came out. No fizzy just sweet taste.

First time ordering from here and will definitely be the last. The food was inedible. The chips were full of grease literally dripping from grease. There was no flavour at all and the food definitely wasn't cooked properly 🤢

The chips were absolutely disgusting cold and ocer cooked,my bacon and egg roll was soggy,and my little girls chips were the same absolutely a shame and disappointing as this was our weekly treat I won't be ordering from here again

Food was inedible! We have ordered from Sophies express a few times before- we always order chicken donner meat & chips. Usually the food is good- tasty donner meat & crispy chips. Today the donner was dry & the chips were soggy and tasted disgusting. We also ordered bbq chicken wings which were really slimey and didn't taste like bbq at all. Really disappointed, especially considering it cost us over £20. Feels like it's a bit hit and miss. Shame.

We love their kebabs and calzone. My pizza wasn't that great tho. Very fast service.

I've had good food before this time. But today I had to ring up after an hour to be told it will be another 20 mins. 35 mins later it arrived. In my opinion they forgot my order and rushed something out, also because the kebab meat and chips contained mainly little bits as in not freshly cut just left over bits. Details being I ordered just before 7pm. With an ETA of 7.40-8pm. I called at 8pm and finally arrived at 8.35pm. Not impressed, unlikely to order again at this time.

When I called after an hour of waiting and after our delivery time we were informed they hadn't even started our food. I had to drive to the restaurant to pick it up in the end

Food arrived on time and was still warm. We had the chicken burger and meat and chips, and the overall quality was not as good as I would have liked.

Great kebabs & yummy cheesy chips. On the occasions we have gone somewhere else we have been disappointed in comparison. Will stay loyal to this place for all our kebabs and cheesy chips from here on!

I've used this take out since 2003 and still love it now even though I don't live as close. Had dinner last night and still great service and food. Highly recommend and will use again when I'm in the area.
