The Parchment Makers in Havant

This is my local Wetherspoons whichwas visited by my wife and I yesterday at 4.30pm. It was noisier than usual which was due to the England New Zealand rugby match. We also used the App in here and the service was super fast which was good given the queue at the bar. Overall a great Wetherspoons experience and good value for money.

We go in twice a week as dinner is very cheap.

It's ok but food is a bit expensive

Few of us having breakfast as we do every two weeks ,the portions are very inconsistent

Busy ,prices good but sometimes cleaning and tidying up can be poor

Clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Excellent value food and drink. Spacious interior with outside seating area. Good choice if in Havant or nearby .

A place that has its own atmosphere.One thing that really surprised and charmed me at the same time was how very tall this man is, because looking at him from the outside he doesn't look like that at all.

Ordered my regular cod and chips with scampi as available on the menu. Cod arrived, but was told no scampi. I thought the cod had been under a heat lamp for hours as the batter looked very old. Asked for fresh fish but was told freshly fried. I don’t believe the manager. Was then told mine was the last cod left. Then asked for a curry instead, but they couldn’t do that either. 3rd choice was gammon but chicken instead of egg as I can’t eat egg. Gammon came contaminated with egg. I think I’ve been short changed. Terrible experience, unlike my usual meals; it doesn’t help that I believe I’ve been lied to either. Spoons, you can do much better than this, and honesty wouldn’t go amiss.

Food is always good, staff are polite and professional.

We just came from a show and ordered food 20 mins before the pub closed, it was all little picky bits that would have taken 5 mins to make. They then took 20 minutes to get us our food which on the app its says it should take around 4 mins. When our food did get to us the server made a snide comment in an aggressive tone saying that the kitchen staff were mad at us and that is sinply not how you should be in hospitality. He then tried to make us leave quickly after before we had all finished our food.

One of the better wetherspoons . Always have the peri peri half chicken and chips with a side salad(which tbh the dish should really come with a little green ) but regardless it's always well cooked and tasty . Wife has different dishes each time and all looks great too . Fast service .

Pleasant staff, portion size has dwindled of late. Service good & fast. Ample free P just opposite in small retail park. Lots of camera eyes to reassure us in this watering hole (!). Definitely recommend wholeheartedly.

Good to see a familiar face who worked at a rival venue promoted and agreeing with us about the abhorrent attitude of another venue. No names mentioned to protect the GUILTY & INNOCENT.....

For a city pub it has a very friendly atmosphere with polite and fast service at the bar and for food. The food is top quality pub food with a large menu. Their meal and drink deals are fantastic too.

Early breakfast around 08.45, delicious and great value for money.

Not bad for a spoons, stopped in for a pint. Lad behind the bar couldn't believe it when he saw the old age on the id but was polite enough. Price wise can't complain.

Absolute joke the bouncers are so corrupt absolute wasters have zero judge of character it's like they was picked from a cereal box very embarrassing and unprofessional

Good for a quick breakfast, or weekend drinks, menu is OK as long as you like burgers, steak and normal things you find in other pubs

Standard Spoons no complaints. Its quite old but has a nice vibe and boat interior and ropes everywhere for a nice atmosphere. Drinks came quickly. no complaints.

It's a spoons ,you know what you're getting,the Beers cheap, but the you get the service to match ,miserable staff, who very rarely acknowledge you, who look like they don't really want to be there, but it pays the bills ,customer service non existent really, but that's the same with all spoons, you only go because it's cheaper than most pubs,if ever pub was the same price ,and you had to use it based on customer experience, they would be empty, imo.

Pizza was disgusting tomato paste cold cheese and definitely a soggy bottom! Come on you can do better

It's a wetherspoon pub so no surprises here. Very lively lunch time visit. Plenty of locals in the bar but found a seat easily. Had an all day brunch which arrived very quickly and the staff were great.

I'm always looking for a cooked breakfast here. Always hot, quick and yummy. Cocktails are always good here too! Amazing staff and a chilled relaxing atmosphere

Popped in for breakfast I had a sausage bap and hash browns and a coffee, we ordered on the app the food came quickly it was hot the service was good and the food great we enjoyed latte from the machine including refills. We were asked if everything was OK by a member of staff during our meal and overall enjoyed the experience

Staff is friendlyand helpful, the food is good on most days. But you clearly apriciate this Spoons for having its toilets downstairs.

You get what you expect. Real value for money, easy to sit in and no hassle. Cheaper drinks on a Monday!

Nice wetherspoons the service was great but the atmosphere wasn't that nice and it was over crowded. But if your just trying to grab a bite to eat I would highly recommend this wetherspoons.

Dark, dingy and full of noise like most Spoons. Food is mainly kept under hot lights and not cooked fresh and yes the beer is cheap but the draft bitter doesn't taste very good and honestly I'd rather pay more elsewhere and sit in a proper pub. Wetherspoons is long overdue a revamp as the whole chain.

🥄 ies on a Sunday is never going to be a destination pub unless you want an honest pint and a pizza.. and that's what we wanted and we got.

The girl at the bar was just not listening to me, I asked what ciders they had on tap, and then asked if I could have a strongbow dark fruits, I received a light pink cider. I just drank what I was given as I was trying to tell her that it was not want I asked for but was not taken any notice of as she was now up the other end of the bar, serving someone else.

Typical spoons but needs a manager to give "some" of the staff a kick up the backside. Staff on their phones when ppl are waiting to be served and glasses cleared and cleaned. Also had the worse portion of chips I've ever been served in a spoons. I had a few but luckily my mate didn't care and ate nearly the rest, just leaving a few beyond what even a dog would eat. Don't get me wrong , I do like coming here but it's definitely getting worse. Like I said, it's needs someone to manage it properly.

The food arrives quickly, tastes nice and is a good price. There is a good choice of food on the menu.

The usual Weatherspoons food and vibe - cheap and cheerful. This was a perfect stop off for a breakfast before a walk in Staunton Countr Park. Refillable coffee does the trick! :)

Yes had my retirement party there with a great turn out lots of work mates the pub must of made a minute thank you all for helping make great memories small boats team 👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went their with my friends it's wasn't hot and it wasn't cold when I went up to the till the service was great and the pizza did have abit of green herbs off it what I needed to pick off but the pizza was amazing at the end that's why 5 stairs

Wetherspoons are known for their support of the craft ale trade and this pub has the largest choice of craft ales I've ever seen in any pub. All of them are well kept and it's a joy to have such selection. If you enjoy a quality craft ale do pop in here, it's close to both the railway station and bus station. You don't even have to get out of your chair if you use the Wetherspoons app on your phone to order and pay for your ale and food.

Beer festival ales, curry night and footy on the box. What not to like!

Always worth missing the train home as always have plenty of ales on. Typical Wetherspoons food, but reasonable prices and service very quick.

Good coffee . It would be nice if it sold small snacks like croissants ,cheese on toast ,sausage rolls or traybakes for us non drinkers especially in evenings! It's a growing market !

It's a spoons with cheap yummy food. Pepsi max is always a bit flat but always a good place to people watch whilst eating as so many characters visit here.

Nice venue, Toilets on ground floor! Bar service slow during the week.

Got swore at by a member of staff because food order was wrong . Asked to talk to manager and he basically ignored us and carried on serving drinks. Used to be a great pub but now just run by arrogant people

Well, be prepared, it’s rough. I wouldn’t eat in here and the staff look like they’d punch you if you complained about anything. Toilets were clean. Beer is cheap 2 pints £6

What a god-forsaken dump...Tim Martin is in serious trouble if this sorry place is a reflection of his idea of the hospitality industry. Tepid, nuked food served on cold plates by surly waiting staff. Filthy chairs and tables. . Cleanliness.....0 Ambiance.....0 Food...........0 Service.......0

Another spoons, this one a short walk through the park from Havant Station - although it's almost hidden in plain sight. I was walking along the street and didn't see anything until I looked up a bit and saw the signature spoons script on the blue background. A narrowish pub, but very long which was good when I was there as all the doors along the side were open to provide some relief from the heat. The staff were lovely and friendly and there is some outdoor seating down the side opposite the street. The Guinness was excellent.

Stopped in for a lite-lunch, Lovely place, friendly, polite team, quick service, food was good, chicken in the wrap was perfectly cooked, Lovely, highly recommend.

Me and few friends met up on a Friday night for drinks the staff were very polite and there was a very friendly atmosphere. My only gripe is that the chicken wings i ordered took quite a while to arrive. over all i enjoyed my time at the parchment and would drink there again.

Had the Bangers and Mash not good mash was full of dried up lumps not nice at all.

Not bad place 1st time I been there , was cosy bit nosey as was a Friday evening, small plates £14.99 I wouldn't buy that again . My sister in law had mixed grill she said that was yummy .

Such a shame my experience wasn't the greatest... Ordered some food for myself and my son... His burger came out overcooked, hard and dry. He was unable to eat it.... And my chicken burger was undercooked and still raw in the middle!! 😞 We also asked for some cheese for my son's chips, which I didn't mind paying but £1.45 for a handful that looked like it had been chucked on from a distance was extremely bad and not worth it.... Not sure what happened but I'm hoping it was a bad day and we just got an unlucky batch of food but it does put you off buying again 😔

Had a lovely visit here. There's the normal great Weatherspoons menu with something for everyone. Lots of seating and the pub were clean and well maintained. Food came quickly and was well cooked.

Ordered a rare steak with side salad... It was seriously tough... ( I know... you get what you pay for) but that was honestly the worst steak I've ever eaten....

Popped in the Parchments for a quick breakfast ....yay! Well that was the plan anyway....the best laid plans of mice and men so they say. My friend ordered a large breakfast and a porridge with fruit for me please... Nope !...back my friend came, no banana, no blueberries, no strawberries...do what?...so I can have.....just porridge? No poached eggs for my friend's breakfast but he could have some yellow composite that was described as scrambled egg..but actually looked like a microwaved facehugger from Alien...🤢. So I ended up with nothing and my friend wished he had ordered nothing. Sad thing was...it was Saturday, so the market was in full swing at 10.15am...and a fruit and veg stall selling bananas, blueberries and strawberries less than fifty feet away...would it actually have been beyond the realms of possibility for a member of staff to trot over and spend a tenner on a few punnets and a hand of bananas?...seems that way. Good news was that the carpet and tables were as sticky as could be expected. It just wouldn't be Spoons without that would it?.

Stopped for coffee break. Wetherspoons always good value for money. Toilet facilities clean and on ground floor. 2 steps to enter establishment, less than easy for disabled people.

Excellent, has its usual area, families to the back, staff friendly, good coffee machine placement. loos are on same level and not far! (at the back) - also this one has bookshelves with books on which are cute.

Me and my friends went for breakfast, The food is value for money, you get free refills on tea and coffee although the coffee machines runs out of milk fairly often, the staff are quick to replace it. The staff are friendly and welcoming, they give you your space to socialise and they are always around either cleaning tables or collecting glasses. There is a lovely little garden to the side of the building where you can sit out in the summer, which is well-kept.

Staff rude and very unwelcoming food I guess is ok as it's very cheap I had to have my meal taken back but was sorted but waitresses and bar staff rude which was a shame put a big down on the place as the place

Great range of beers. Quick service and friendly bar staff. Prices are hard to beat.

Very bad service I came in with family and I definitely wouldn't go back the man serving who was old with grey short hair and was wearing grey shirt was rude and very unprofessional he had even said he was a manger but there was no hospitality I can't see him begin manger as he was so rude shouted and called me a lair and had food all in his beard this is very unprofessional

In regards to the food, there is more moisture in the Sahara than the food.
