Great place to take the family during the day or head down there for the night the bar staff and landlord are very welcoming and make you feel at home would definitely recommend for anyone in the area, best pub in the area for sure

No food served and hasn't been served for a long time. In new ownership as fullers sold it recently. Needs updating and definitely a lick of paint. Hopefully the new people will do this as it is a popular pub And could do well especially if the served food. Excellent that it is dog friendly.

Attend Dels open mic night and the pub had a nice atmosphere

Nice locale pub, kids enjoyed the disco on the 6th of April, not bad prices and a good size garden.

I visit this charming local pub regularly and am always thoroughly impressed. The warm and inviting atmosphere make it perfect for families, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a kid-friendly experience. From their friendly demeanour, to amazing cocktail making skills every detail was well thought out. A hidden gem for those seeking a welcoming spot for both adults and children. Great to see a pub busy in January!! Lovely atmosphere, welcoming manager and bar staff, excellent prices (especially happy hour!). Great location, bus stop outside and large beer garden that we can't wait to use again in the summer!

The landlord and lady are amazing people. Always putting events on for kids. The food is lovely and well priced. They sell tea and coffee too. So winner. Highly recommend if you have kids.

Amazing Halloween party for the children, so much effort went in and all the little details down to personalised goody bags for all the kids. All the children enjoyed so much! We already look forward to the Christmas one! Thank you Lauren and Martin and all the staff.

Oh, what an absolute gem of a place, this so-called "Woodman"! If you have a yearning for dim lighting that could easily put the dark ages to shame, and a decor that seems to have been handpicked from the clearance bin of a museum, then this is your paradise. The staff, bless their little hearts, have mastered the art of moving at a pace that even snails would find leisurely. And as for the menu, well, let's just say it's an adventure in culinary mediocrity. If you seek an experience that transports you back to a time when customer satisfaction was just a myth, look no further than the Woodman. A true masterpiece of disappointment! Also I need to mention a group of Loud annoying lazy robust roofers seem to have taken up permanent residence in the pub, I complained to the staff about how loud they are and the barman apologied and said we get complaints about them all the time, please do better.

Great atmosphere with great staff, friendly clean, welcoming pub, always polite even though it was extremely busy. Only downside is the ladies loo only has the 1 toilet so can be a queue when you desperately need it.

Not welcoming, totally ignored and laughed at on the way out. Thanks, what a way to kick people when they’re going through a horrible time dealing with a bereavement and just wanted a nice drink out. You know the saying, you never know what’s going on behind closed doors. Maybe think a bit next time, truly upsetting.

Having been born there when The Woodman was a place known as Flint Farm. As a family Dad George Mother Daisy May , sister Georgina and older brother David all lived in the Dairy farm until 1936 when we moved to Redhill Surrey. They say, never go back to where you came from. As a baby if course I would not remember how it looked but over 87 years, with so many trips down yo visit relatives, it surely has taken a turn for the worse. If anyone has any pictures when the farm was in working condition I would be very great full to receive the details. Thank you.

Brilliant entertainment and friendly service

The appointment of a new assistant manager has led to a definite improvement. Logs for the fire are still rationed so the evening entertainment is rumaging through the bin looking for something to burn whilst management are busy.

Nice big open pub. Good selection of beer. Can be loud so needs some sound deadening. Great offer of £3 a beer during the week

It's a friendly enough pub but could do with a good refresh, as it's looking pretty tatty. Could also do with a few less punters with baseball caps. It's like chav central.

All this place was missing was the sawdust. Toilets may as well have been built and maintained by romans, only clue thay didnt was the plastic bags left around. Noisy uncontrolled kids ruling the roost, left to their own devices, no cozy family atmosphere there should be in a villiage pub.

I visit this pub weekly Saturday/Sunday to play pool maximum 4 hours per day only issues I'd that the pool table is now on carpet not on the laminate where the lights were for the table but have been taken own recently. The dart board is too close to the pool table health and safety red flags alert. The toilets are a complete disgrace always broken, website says food served but hasn't been the case foe over a year or more unless there is an event going on rhenium its burgers and hotdogs from bbq in the garden

After viewing the pictures and seeing this locally run pub served food we stopped on our way out. Looking at the carpark that held approximately 30 vehicles and was full this served well so we parked in a nearby road and walked in with great anticipation. On entering there were only 6 to 8 people playing pool and a few youngsters watching football (not sure why the carpark was full and we had to walk?) After a 5 minute wait a staff member emerged (wearing shorts and a t-shirt, how unprofessional) to take our drink order and after asking for a menu we we're told the establishment had not served food for many years and the website must be out of date. We were left paying for a pint and a half of flat Fosters and looking at a plate of cheese and crackers on the bar that everyone leaving the disgraceful toilets were picking from. We are no meens posh but this place is disgraceful, empty plastic bags in the toilets that I can only assume held illicit substances at some point and a lavatory that did not flush coupled with the broken chairs we sat on whilst consuming our flat drinks we left very disgruntled and would not even drive past this place again let alone frequent it. The landlord (whome I presumed served us) should be ashamed of himself :-(

Well another fight just avoided. No management or licence holder and its all kicking off. Glass smashed and locals squaring up against protagonists. Lets hope the police arive soon.

Lovely pint of HSB here and only £3.00, with Heiniken Rugby highlights on too. Super.

Nice little pub. Dog friendly and has a big garden

Smells like sick, tables in the garden needed clearing up but staff was to busy being.... Not busy. And the cherry on to was the toilet, be prepared for some gymnastics because you will have to figure out how to pee and hold the door at the same time! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy.

The selection of mixers and gins were amazing. The barmaid was literally the nicest person.

A great friendly pub with helpful cheerful bar staff. A great choice of beers. Great entertainment and lovely area for the children to play in the beer garden. Worth a visit.

Decent local for builders and common folk, as i, in weekday afternoons as 3 shillings a pint until 6pm. Othertimes is a decent family friendly affair.

Manager was very good, great service from him. Prize is very modest but with a little increase tfrom 6pm. No disabled toilet but I and other have went in together to the men's, I hope they forgive me. As I am my partners carer too. Layout of pub is wheelchair accessible but not toilets as we were told before hand. Lovely back garden. Plus good seating area.

First visit to this dog friendly pub on Thursday evening. Pub is a bit shabby but in a cosy way! Real fire. Had lovely pints of HSB and London Pride. Friendly barman and clientele. Really enjoyed our evening here.

Really good staff, very helpful. They understand vegetarians, even warning us of the chips being cooked in the same oil as meat. Decent three star pub grub but great service.

Although we arrived at 3pm for a very late lunch we were made welcome. The staff were most attentive and we were soon served.

Arrived after a 20 minute walk on youngests 1st birthday for some food. Website said food served 12-3, arrived a hair after 2, to be told that the chef had gone to the bank and they weren’t sure when he’d be back! Shambolic and disappointing.

Was quite noisy and I should imagine this is a place for regulars to meet up after work for a beer and catch up prices are average for local pubs did not have food but I don't think it lends itself to be a place where you want to eat out

Great pub with good drink and food selection. Ample parking, very large garden at the rear with many picnic tables. Also great beer prices too. In the daytime you can get a pint of Amstel for a fantastic price. Cheapest for miles. Worth a visit.

The woodman is a very good family pub

Enjoyable and friendly place to have a ale or wine, play pool or just relax in the large garden or perhaps watch football on the outside roofed smoking seating area on the outdoor television if your into. Football Will return.

Went to the woodman for karaoke on Wednesday night and had a really good time. Bar staff were really nice and the karaoke dj was very entertaining and witty. Had a nice seating area outside with heaters for when it gets cold and a TV outside so if your a smoker you can still go outside and have a smoke and not miss the footy. Also had a nice big area with a slide (that I tried) so the kids can run round and burn off some energy before you take them back home. Would definitely go here again

I have lived in the Waterlooville area for all of my life and The Woodman has always been my favourite pub. It has a great atmosphere and the garden in the summer is a true vision of paradise. There is a wide selection of beers available and always friendly service. Yes there could be some improvements made, however I feel sometimes an old carpet or mismatched chairs is what gives a place character, and that most certainly fits when you’re in The Woodman. The jukebox is stocked with tunes and there is always an old bloke to play pool with. I will frequent this pub until I die.

Great wee pub with a great friendly atmosphere. We were down from Scotland for my uncles funeral and we went in here as it was his local and they couldn't have been nicer to us. They reserved an area for us all to sit and all sorts. Staff and locals were all lovely. I can see why my uncle loved it in there so much

Drugs found on the premises and no one to clear it up, scattered all over the car park. It was horrible having to move it all out the way because it was everywhere! Little bags with drugs still in. Horrible.

This a drinking pub. Back to the good old days, where the landlord is evident in the pub, you can have a game of pool, and there is a friendly atmosphere. It is frequented by the local tradesman, has sky sports and a log fire. Decor is a bit rough and ready, but that is down to the chain needing to invest. But it is kept clean, and is far better than it was a few years back.

This place is disgusting. Filthy carpet that shoes stick to! Smelly toilets & in need of a total refurbishment.

The local that's been here forever and has weathered the storm but needs a lick of paint and some kind of make over.

If you like constant swearing in a place that's sadly become a dump then crack on otherwise don't go here

This is our local pub that we can walk to, the managers there at the moment have done an excellent job sorting the men’s toilets out that used to wharf the smell of urine out every time the door was opened, so stoped eating there years ago not a great smell when your eating. Now sorted well done. Another problem is the price of a bottle of wine goes up by about £5 at 6pm ! So better of going to The George, The Hero’s or The Woodpecker where the wine remains the same price all of the time, even paying for a taxi your still quids in. End of rant

Hi had a good meal in good atmosphere only downside chairs very tired and stained,

This is our third visit for Sunday lunch and as always we well looked after. We selected the roast chicken for our meal and it was served piping hot with vegetables and a jug of gravy. However what really annoyed us was a couple were arguing that although they ordered a childs meal they expected an adult portion there is no pleasing some people.
