The best restaurants in South East

I’ve been to this pub a few times and i’ve never been disappointed. Staff are always friendly, it’s always clean and service is great. Food options sometimes lack for a gluten intolerant person however I recommend the fish cake, 10/10!

The Chambers Portsmouth A most enjoyable culinary experience was had this evening, especially so after returning from Sandown Park after the horse racing with a party of hungry racing enthusiasts and in need of hydration. Chambers is a hidden gem for its ambiance and warm hospitality, Carl & Jason could not be more attentive and got us quicky seated and served with some very nice red wine and white for our party of six. Orders were taken and food was piping hot & delicious with most of us opting for the verry tasty onion soup, we added some sausage rolls that are cooked by Chambers which were devoured before we finished the first course. After a long day fillet and rib eye steaks all cooked to our individual requirements, no complaints, very tasty steaks accompanied by different chips skinny chips, to triple cooked, broccoli & on the vine tomatoes accompanied by a range of sauces for the steaks. To finish off we had three very large cheese platters with exceptional blue, white and goat’s cheeses with large selection of biscuits and fresh grapes and a very tasty jelly, vintage port to end left a lovely after taste. To be honest I think we all struggled to finish our plates as portion sizes were so large. An excellent end to a lovely day in such a warm & friendly atmosphere.

Always a great experience. The food was great and Andra looked after us beautifully. One of our favourite restaurants at the moment - keep it up!

Ordered a different cake and Received something else.

A real mixed bag here. Lovely pub, great setting, friendly staff but some of the food was sub par. Ordered a stone baked pizza, definitely not stone baked! Shop bought base…. Like a pizza from school dinners! Complained to waitress and she said she will tell them! The elusive ‘them’ and that was it, no explanation of why it was poor and what they intended to do about it! Poor poor service. Other food was ok tbf. Shame the poor customer service ruined the meal. £12 for a school dinner pizza. I’d avoid the pizza if you go and don’t complain as it will fall on deaf ears!

Arrived for a meal around 5pm . Lady behind the bar was lovely. So welcoming . Food was lovely we both had fish and chips. Cooked to order . No problems with parking .highly recommend

Could just be a one off as it was very busy during my visit, but the chips were pretty much raw. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Food was generally quite nice but service was slow. Granted it was mother's day, but it took about an hour for our food to come.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience. It was my partners birthday and we were made to feel very accommodated and looked after. She was given a complimentary drink, and the service was top notch. Very friendly and informative, and really made the evening feel special. Food is top notch too!

We had our wedding reception upstairs at the John Harvey. Anton made the whole process very easy to organise. We decorated their function room which looked great. They provided a 3 course meal and everyone loved the food. The staff at the John Harvey were very professional and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
