Utterly fabulous stay. Iryna was so good at looking after us and we could not have asked for more. She makes the experience. Food was spectacular (squid, confit croquette and chicken, house burger, crumble etc). Wine and beer very good with great selection. Beautiful thin wine glasses Breakfast was a personalised hamper to our room. Again fabulous muffins, croissants, cereal, juices, porridge etc We stayed in Fuggle room. Well laid out, great bath and very spacious. Lovely and clean, lovely fudge nibbles and a little glass of port. Would highly recommend Thank you Iryna

The Five Bells Pub has excellent food. We are lucky to have them right at our doorstep. We are regulars to it and the staff are amazing people. We always book the table close to the fireplace :)

Beautiful village pub in a stunning location, surrounded by vineyards. The food was tasty and a good price, and the service was brilliant. Highly recommend

Thoroughly enjoyed a lunch at The Five Bells with my partner, son and his fiancee, and their 2month old grandson. We ordered 1 x 125ml Sugar Loaf Sauvignon [8.60], 1 x 125ml Claude Val Rose [4.95], 2 x 25ml Beefeater [8.00] with Tonic [2.90] and 2 x half pint Romney Bitter [5.00]. 3 Roast Beef [70.50] and 1 Roast Chicken [21.50]. 2 x Ice creams [14.00], 1 x Trifle [9.50] and 1 x Crumble [8.50] 1 dbl Espresso [3.20], 1 Latte [3.70]. 10% Discretionary Service charge [16.04] Total £176.39. Our server, Emma, was both helpful and courteous and all the staff were excellent, as was the delicious lunch. Thanks to The Five Bells for a great Sunday lunch.

What a super supper tucked up by the cosy log burner on a chilly evening. Great atmosphere, attentive and thoughtful service with a delicious meal on Trawler Fridays... thoroughly recommend.

Returned yesterday after a little while and wished we hadnt bothered. Absolutely packed in and out; average service, very poor quality roasts and eye watering 'london' prices. After a lifetime in this area, we know plenty of other good pubs in the area but this is one we wont return to sadly

Went to the Five Bells with my Girlfriend for our anniversary. Nothing but incredible! The food was brilliant and prompt, and the addition of a free cocktail on our special occasion made it even better. We were served by Kai along with other members of staff and their service was brilliant, 100% recommend and we will be back many more times!

Visited on Wednesday evening, relatively quiet, 6 or 7 other tables. Service poor. Food lovely and hot. Service slow, drinks orders not delivered, incorrect when chased up. 3 people asked for sauce, one pot arrived. Dessert menus didn’t arrive when requested. Bill incorrect when it came. The waiter that served us has an attention span of a gnat and just forgot everything. Service charge not paid and no apology from anyone for the poor service we’d had.

We booked Sunday lunch and were really disappointed. There was no Sunday lunch and only a BBQ, which was overpriced and poor quality. The location is beautiful, but unfortunately, the service and food didn't live up to expectations. A pub that has invested in the look and feel but forgotten that repeat business is food and service.

Revisited the Five Bells, after 25 years, from the Midlands. On your website, looking at your Sunday menu, there is NO mention of a BBQ only after 5pm. Couldn’t book a table prior to 5pm so booked for then. Hugely disappointed. Please update your Sunday lunch website

We went because their website said that there was a ‘lunchtime locals’ menu which included fish and chips. When we asked for the menu we were told that only the main menu was available and also that pizza bases had run out. It proved to be an expensive lunch. However, we enjoyed our food and gluten free battered fish was a bonus.

We had a lovely lunchtime meal. We shared the potted shrimp on crumpet as a starter then I had the haddock and chips and my husband the burger. Excellent service ;-)

We held our small wedding meal here, hired the potting shed for our guests and it was perfect. Staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The venue is wonderful, it was private enough that you couldn't hear the bustle of inside the pub. Parking was great too. The food quality was fantastic and staff were super helpful when accounting for all of our dietary requirement variations. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Friendly service, good food and atmosphere...

We visited the restaurant on our anniversary yesterday and we had a wonderful evening. We chose to sit in the ‘snug’ area and enjoyed the good music playlist and comfortable seating. On arrival we ordered our drinks and were provided with a complimentary glass of prosecco each due to the occasion which was very thoughtful and we enjoyed the bubbly. Kai and Sam were very attentive and made sure we received our food and drinks promptly and nothing was too much trouble. This was our third time visiting and we will definitely be coming back. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed every course. A stand out favourite was the beer battered pickles and black garlic mayo!

I’ve been going to the 5 bells for 20 years and sadly it seems to have gone a little downhill. Never seen it so quiet and we waited an hour for our lunch to arrive. The pork belly was so tough we left it and the beef seemed catering style not home made. Usual lovely decor etc and drinks but for 25 pounds for a roast we expected the usual home made not as we found.

Great guy behind the bar but it all went downhill from there, service incredibly slow.. I think we eventually ordered after being there for about 40 minutes

Dined here for an evening meal, what a treat! The decor creates a cosy and welcoming chic-pub vibe, complemented by fantastic food and service. Particularly attentive waiters who were happy to make food and drink suggestions and checked up on us during the meal to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Quality of food was outstanding. Can't wait to come back and try other options on the menu.

What a wonderful countryside pub and fantastic landlord “Memo” With delicious food and service and atmosphere. We were welcomed immediately. If you're looking for a country pub in East Kent, look no further. We stopped for lunch on our day off and had a fantastic meal! We sat indoors at a cosy well dressed table but there is also a Large beautiful outside area that is covered so great even if its raining. The food was top notch with lovely variety of Wines.. Found by chance. Had a great meal with the family. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The pub itself is old but so well decorated and well thought out. We WILL be back . Thoroughly recommended.

Very nice pub restaurant in a nice countryside location, (if a bit tricky to get to!) We dined inside and had a good Sunday lunch in a very traditional Kentish Inn. Reasonable prices and the place does lots of different themed nights e.g. Steak night, Pizza night etc. The service was good and the servers all very pleasant and happy to help. The place was very busy with a nice 'hum' as everything seemed to tick along nicely for all the other diners. Would recommend 👍

We had the good fortune to stay at The Five Bells in Brabourne. It was absolutely amazing, the room was beautiful, luxurious, very well maintained and spotless! The toiletries supplied were all of a high standard including bath salts, Port and bottled water. When we went to breakfast we were greeted by a very professional and friendly young man. The experience just kept on wowing us as the food was second to none. We cannot wait to stay here again and would highly recommend it!!

Called in without a booking and staff were able to fit us in after a 30 min wait as it was extremely busy. During our wait contact was maintained and reassured that we hadn’t been forgotten. Staff were friendly and service was very good. The waitress was kind enough to check on soup of the day if there was any Chilli due to one of us having an allergy. Food was tasty and served well and there was no rush between the courses. Would definitely recommend to all and will return, although booking is advisable due to how busy they are on a Saturday night.

Had a lovely breakfast with my family. The lady who served us was really kind sorted out my granddaughter with a colouring sheet, crayons and extra bits. The food was well presented and tasty.

An older bar lady, not customer friendly, almost on the point of being obnoxious. Food was good, the waitress professional and friendly. The experience was let down by the older bar lady’s attitude.

I go to the Five Bells semi occasionally and love the atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff and superb location. Worth a mention, sorry I can't remember the name (sorry), is the friendly Ukrainian (manager?) who is so genuinely nice and an absolute asset to this business. Keep up the great work guys 👍

Very quirky place first impressions were very positive Room was very ‘granny attic’ style Staff very friendly Bar comfortable and relaxing So overall good first impression Meal was quite average to be honest nothing to give any positive comments about nothing negative Biggest issue I have that needs improvement is the room for the price surely a bed that has a modern solid base and not Victorian springs is not too much to ask. Worst nights sleep I’ve had in years The room was above the kitchen and outside smoking area so cigarette smells and kitchen extract smells were rather strong We didn’t get breakfast as it didn’t start till 9 which again I find a bit weird in this day and age we did get a basket of food left outside the night before though

Nice food , limited menu and not cheap. Think we had a full in waitress as when things quietened down and just regular waitress things got better.

Without doubt the best pub accommodation I have experienced. My husband spent 7 weeks travelling in 2023 and said the Five Bells was the best place he stayed in the UK or Europe, so I sought it out when the opportunity arose. The room was beautifully appointed with some wonderful additional touches such as a complimentary decanter of Port and a log fire. The service from everyone at the inn and the restaurant was exceptional including carrying our large cases up to the first floor and lighting the fire in our room so it was warm when we returned after dinner. The food was also excellent. Only sorry we couldn't stay longer but will definitely be back!

Had high expectations as had heard good things but boy was we all disappointed. The service was terrible. An hour wait for our starters. No one came during courses to check on us. I had to go to the bar to get drinks cos we gave up waiting. And it wasn't even full in there. Tye starters were delicious but the mains were very bog standard. Toilets are unisex which is not for us (3 couples in 50s). Unuser friendly taps. Very expensive for what we had. Don't mind paying for great food and service but it was far from that.

We just had an excellent stay at the Five Bells, the pub is gorgeous, really full of character but with modern touches. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast. Every meal was really high quality, with unusual choices, well presented and really tasty. The room was quirky, but really well equipped. We could hear some sound from the bar below but it wasn’t intrusive, and had been mentioned on the website when I booked. The team at the pub were really friendly and helpful. A great stay, we will visit again, thank you.

Myself and my partner visited the five bells for breakfast. A big thank you to Jen for looking after us so well. You were professional, kind, calm and extremely organised in running the morning service. The atmosphere was really peaceful and the breakfast was 5*. We could not get enough of the sourdough toast and salted butter. Yum. See you again soon. Highly recommend.

How have I not been here before? Absolutely stunning. Divine food (roast dinner), exceptional service, and beautiful decor. The toilets are just lovely!

We stayed one night and loved it. Loved the service, ambience and general feel of the place. Rooms were gorgeous and cosy and breakfast was fab! Hope to be back!

1st time visit to the 5 bells even though I've heard it talked about for years. Glad I finally got to eat here. Beautiful building and bar area. Hard to make my mind up on what to order, it all sounded pretty good. When I finally made up my mind, I wasn't disappointed. Lovely food cooked to how I'd expected to be and thoroughly enjoyable. Service was friendly and efficient too. Look forward to visiting again.

Came here for Valentine’s day, nice and easy to get to, we went in and sat, having some drinks as we were early for the table. The atmosphere was very nice and it was good to see it so busy inside. We were then taken to our table which was a decent spot in the corner and the food was very lovely too. The waitress serving us was very attentive and the dessert that we shared (the lime and coconuts waffles) were extremely nice!

Popular countryside pub with lovely interior, cosy fire and great lager and ale selection. Pub staff very active and visible in making sure visitors are welcome and comfortable. We didn't eat tonight but from previous experiences you can expect high quality.

The ambience was delightful. Drinks were super. Food was delicious and plenty of it. The service was outstanding. It is rare for a restaurant to get everything perfect but Memo and his team have managed to do it! The best restaurant we have been to in a long time and we will certainly be going back.

Four of us went for a birthday lunch. Everything was perfect great people providing excellent service and serving fabulous food. The pub has a lovely atmosphere , log fire burning always busy but even when busy I could not fault a thing. I am very fussy but came away really happy it was the best lunch out in a long time and we’ve tried many. Well done Five Bells

Had an over night stay at this lovely pub. Ortega room was fabulous for us as a characterful room with log burner and deep copper roll top bath sloping creaky floors. Might not be for everyone as above the bar and noises associated up to 11 pm. Breakfast was amazing, quality produce and plentiful. Enjoyed the good food and beverages in the bar in front of cosy fire, staff were attentive and keen to ensure a pleasant stay. Overall a lovely experience and would recommend to family and friends.

Stunning place. Went for 2 nights for our anniversary in December, room was lovely, bed comfy, beautiful copper bath, only downside to the room was the extremely creaky floor in the loo. Food was really good and staff very friendly , only downside to the restaurant was the 10% service charge and no mention of it at all. The first meal we were forgotten about for our main for a very long time and the second night's meal asked preference to chunky chips or skinny fries, the wrong ones came, I mentioned straight away and the young lad just said oh sorry and no mention of changing it. I always leave a tip but it should be a choice and not put upon you, in my opinion.

We were here on Christmas Day, with our family. We had a terrific time, and couldn’t fault anything. The food was delicious, and staff worked hard to make everything perfect.

Stopped for a night on our way to Dover and what an amazing pub we found. Our room was really cosy, with everything you need. A nice hamper breakfast was provided as we couldn't make breakfast due to our early start. The actual pub/restaurant was really well decorated and had a lovely atmosphere but the food was the star of the show. One of the nicest curries I have ever had. Will definitely be returning on our future trips.

Having ordered the steak the presentation wasn’t brilliant, Steak was very chewy and hard to cut my partner ended up leaving hers as it was just too much work

Beautiful traditional English pub, dogs welcome. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The gluten free fish and chips were amazing - my husband has not had such good fish and chips since having to eat gluten free food. Can’t wait to come back!

This was the third time of going and we have never been disappointed. Friendly welcome. Lovely ambience, made more special with tasteful Christmas decorations. All the staff were helpful and service was good. The food was well presented, and very tasty. We had the crispy plaice, and the belly pork and both were delicious. The tomatoes that accompanied the plaice, well who knew tomatoes could taste like that. Apple and berry crumble was also very tasty. We met friends there and we had both travelled 30 miles so we could meet in the middle, we were not rushed and we could chat and take our time which was great. We will return.

We held a wedding reception here and decided to take over the whole pub for the day. We had 50 people for a sitdown meal and another 15 to 20 in the evening. The feedback from our guests was unbelievable. They all commentated the atmosphere in the five bills was fantastic, as was the food and the staff and service were on many occasions described as unbelievable. Many of the guests commented that if they had a wedding they would’ve been delighted to have the five bells for the reception as they described it as one of the best weddings they had ever attended, bearing in mind, a lot of the guests like us were in the late 50s and 60s that was a significant tribute to the hard work of all the staff. We also stayed the night as did a few guests, and we were delighted with the rooms, the breakfast and again the helpfulness of the staff. The canapés were fabulous the wine flowing freely . The wedding lunch was described as as good a meal as found at good restaurants. Afterwards we had dancing and further pizzas and the staff were unbelievable. I recommend this place strongly

I have been Gluten Free for four years and have really missed fish and chips. When we visited the five bells there was a gluten free fish and chips on the menu. Something you never see. It was simply amazing, light crispy batter, full of flavour. The staff were all so lovely and the pub is so welcoming and beautiful. I will be going back, if you are gluten free i would highly recommend. Well done everyone at the five bells.
