Pub right in the very busy and attractive George Street in Hastings.
Food is available and there is a small garden to sit in as well as street seats. Staff are friendly.A smaller pub but often busy.
First visit. Took my son on his 16th birthday. Had a great time. Very good pub grub (some of it with a nice twist, as chef is Portuguese) and a really friendly and warm welcome. Beer very well kept too. Will definitely come back.
It being part of a chain that specialises in beer, the pub had problems with its cooling system which meant there was only one ale on tap instead of 10. Evidently it was going to take a long while to fix. Pleasant bar attendant.
Fantastic coffee cold drinks and food and if u haven't got a reuseable cup u have the option to buy one there and the app is fantastic for the days u have little time to hang around as u can order on the go and by the time u get there is should be there waiting 4 u if u have to wait its never that long
Been to the White Hart lots of times over many years and it was a favourite a few years ago. But having been last week it’s really gone downhill. Food was ok, nothing to shout about (it used to be amazing food) service was pretty terrible and the atmosphere was poor too- place was empty and silent, then half way through the meal they put loud and booming beaty music on, which seems completely inappropriate.
Orders were forgotten, or given wrong. We were never offered desserts. We were made to shout our orders from the table. It’s a real shame and I hope that the current owners are able to turn it back to what it was, or hope that someone else takes it on and makes it great again!
Met up with family here today. The four of us had a lovely lunch with pleasant and efficient service. The pub was quiet which meant we had a choice of table. The place had been freshened up and was clean and spacious. We had a table by the window which was private and uncluttered.
The menu was a good one with a range of dishes supplemented with a pie menu and a pizza menu too. My husband had ham, egg and chips which was generous and well cooked. Our companions both had different pies served with mustard mash, cabbage and gravy. I had an Alsace pizza and side sald both of which were delicious.
Having been to The Bull over the last 6 or 7 years we have had varying experiences. This was definitely one of the better ones with good food and service. We wish the new owners well in making this venture a success. They are certainly breathing new life into the place
The overall experience was really really good, albeit with a few minor bumps. The greeting was friendly and informative by Alex. We were shown to our hut which was absolutely beautiful and very well made. The fridge wasn’t working so our drinks could not be chilled, we did mention this and it was said that they’d check but that didn’t happen. The hut was unbelievable, we loved sunbathing in the afternoon and then lighting a fire in the evening after dinner and roasting some marshmallows. We had a table booked for 8pm and we didn’t get sat until around 8.20pm, but our table was lovely. Nice size and well spaced out. The restaurant area was brilliant. The meal was a tad overpriced in my mind but the food delicious. We saw a lady walk out and say service was slow which made us a bit nervous but our waiter was lovely and attentive. Breakfast top notch the following day, the coffee really good too. I did email ahead of time and mention it was my girlfriends birthday, and asked if a bottle could be left in the room, which was confirmed but sadly it didn’t happen. Other than those minor blips, the experience was unbelievable and we’ll be back
Tried to obtain access to this venue recently and appreciated that there was a queue. However the security guards at the entrance were very rude to us as a gay couple wanting to gain access to the venue. It was apparent that access to the venue was prioritised by friends of the security team whilst we were there waiting. And when we politely pointed that we were in the queue and had been gazumped the lady security operative said if you re going to be dicks about this then you’re Not going to be let in. We were Bon threatening and it was a very polite exchange I felt she was offensive and for a gay friendly venue was very dismissive of us especially as we had been customers in this venue earlier this evening and in numerous time before as our local gay friendly venue
