It's ok for a drink however eating is a bit of a hit or miss. The food is good but it can be so slow to come out. I had organised lunch with a group of friend and I regretted it very quickly. On a Sunday it was us (6 people) and another table (4 people). We ordered some chips and they took about 30 minutes. Then we ordered pizza and one of my friends finished theirs before the others arrived! I'm not sure what went wrong but I was a bit embarassed with my friends afterwards. I had a similar experience a couple of years ago, when myself and my partner went for dinner before the Pint of Science. It was us 2 and not many more people and I remember waiting at least 45 min for a couple of rather spicy bean burgers. I would recommemd it for a drink, but avoid for big-ish groups and food.

✌️🌟🌐❤️☸️👍🇺🇳☮️🪙🎶🌌A Divine Comedy: Tap Social: The White House Given Tap Social's deeply moving track record for second chances and not requiring patrons to leave tips for the bartender unless service is rendered, I am leaving a happy five-star review from my time briefly visiting Oxford and other regions of England 🇬🇧 in January of 2023. I had been previously in England in 2017, learning about Shakespeare and his works as part of the Rutgers University 🎓 Global Higher Education student international exchange program. My grandfather once asked me why, on occasion, Englishmen and Englishwomen drank warm beer. He is a 98-year-old World War II American Navy veteran who enlisted at seventeen in Passaic County, New Jersey 🇯🇪 and wanted to travel on a ship. He was on many ships to get where he needed to arrive, which, given World War 2, was "Home." So, on-premises at the Tap Social White House in Oxford, I offered some peers to leave a tip for the bartenders to pay forward my grandfather's naval service, as his brother had already been stationed in England during the war, and he was much farther away than expected even when Grandpa was informed he would sail on a ship to England to pick up troops from Falmouth and Waymouth, United Kingdom 🇬🇧 As a gentleman who returned home after the war and worked in an Irish bar for many years, Grandpa remembered decades later about the time, having double-grabbed two beers while on shore leave in England. The beer was slightly warm, which is understandable as England is a region rich in biodiversity, and the winters can be cold. And if you want a nice beer when it's cold out, you may ask for the beer, which has at least several varieties in England and its cultural regions, to prefer it slightly warm. As I sat in the lovely named White House in England, Oxford, in fact(!) a pub to remember, welcomed my small writing group in for the evening. I had been under much pressure at that time in my career, and I will only say I left happier and wanted to leave a tip. I cannot, in good conscience, as an American, leave a fiat American dollar tip, as the Europeans often wonder why Americans tip at restaurants, bars, pubs, their cab drivers, their tour guides, and their chefs. I am grateful to the staff, whoever your names were. And I have attached a small photo of my tip. It is not worth money because the bills besides the note pound are not redeemable, but it is the only picture of its kind in the world. The paper bill was made in New Jersey, and the wounded veteran American flag token is accurate and on my car keys currently. I am indebted to the exemplary service I received. Many years ago, having the taste of warm beer in his mouth, confused, my Grandpa offered the two beers to two Englishmen who were nearby before going on to land at Omaha Beach on D-Day in Normandy and, not an easy part of the beach either. Due to the historical record of beaches not always being a fun place to land on, those two beers my grandpa gave to those Englishmen, may God protect their souls and send them some health and happiness during World War 2, I then decided to leave a nice tip to the staff at the White House. No, not that White House. The other one. In Oxford. Because while the French may, with an ironclad clause, invoke assistance from America by speaking something along the lines of "Lafayette, vous été!" The English, a pragmatic nation beneath their crown and country, have a cultural shorthand of asking if, "You Yanks Need A Beer?" Beer, which on occasion is served in pubs 🍻, is tasty. And whether you abstain from alcohol or need to find a place at the Sunday Dinner for the Sunday Roast, at the White House, not that one, The Other White House in Oxford, you can have a pleasant visit and maybe have a beer. Cheers from America, free and home of the Whopper, which was once offered in some locations by a different company to France and the French as the Royale With Cheese, which is like a burger. But that is Pulp Fiction. I am back in America, and so is my Pop's. Cheers. 🪙

If you find yourself looking for a great place to eat and drink in Oxford then it's well worth the ten minute walk out of town to visit Tap Social! Not only is this a fantastic community venture, it's also a really nice space in which to while away an afternoon, complete with a lovely fire on the day we visited. We enjoyed a number of small plates for lunch and they were all delicious (I would particularly recommend the deep fried pickles). The wine and the own brand beer were also great - so much so we brought some extra cans home with us. We'd also like to commend our excellent servers - Holly and John - both of whom were friendly, welcoming and really nice to talk to. All in all this was one of the most enjoyable lunches we've had in Oxford and we'll definitely visit again.

I don’t usually review a burger but was absolutely blown away by the quality of the food here! Burgers and sides are the main offerings here and wow some of the tastiest we have had in a long time. And those poutine fries!!!!! Plus sticky toffee for dessert - so so good! Again probably one of the best I’ve eaten in years. We ate it saying ‘wow’ with every mouthful! Added to that - such a cosy spot for a freezing Friday night, friendly crowd, very friendly and attentive staff. And it’s our new local 🙏🏼

First time I was here in summer 2022, I was impressed by the creative food menu and friendly staff. Unfortunately now it was a wholly different experience. Where the beer selection is great, the food menu is quite basic and the staff seemed disinterested. The kitchen seemed to have run out of many ingredients on the menu but we weren't told when ordering or when being served, we just had to find out ourselves while eating. The kids menu was too spicy. Rating is an average of my two visits...

I needed to organise a group meal for our choir in a private room. Oxford is a very expensive destination and I was not receiving sensible quotes from any city centre venues. The White House had a limited but interesting menu with sensible prices and we had use of the upstairs private room. Although communication from a distance was quite difficult once I arrived in Oxford everything worked out and we were very well looked after. Our meals were very good and it was clear that everything was home cooked. We had a most enjoyable evening and it we were pleased to support this business which seeks to rehabilitate ex offenders.

Just asked if it's a Lager or a pale as I could not see the back bar. Not rude in anyway. Just not friendly or even smiling or welcoming. The original is great. The Whitehouse is ine of those that is not bad but not bothered about coming back about. Correction: there was a kid running around and on the pavement. Guy comes running out and asks him politely and gently to stay within the pub and go back. Good lad!

Nice outdoor picnic tables seating 8 people and well spaced apart. They don't appear to have the same variety of Tap Social beers available as the brewery (at least on draught) which is a bit of a shame. The food is pretty limited too, and even the bowl of chips is pretty shingy portion wise. Ordering is via the app which worked fine for me but a number of people in my group couldn't get mobile signal there and there was no WiFi signal outside. Staff regularly forgot what beers they were bringing out so the drinks kept getting mixed up. The garden also closes at 10pm and inside stops serving at 11pm which I feel is a little early. The football was showing in an upstairs room, keeping the loud fans away from the other customers which was very much appreciated.

[This is a review for what was the Folly Bridge Inn in 2019, not the White House that it's now been renamed to] Pub that's a little bit off the main drag of off Oxford. Staff are nice, beer okay, food is meh. Pub needs TLC (there hasn't been curtains in the upstairs toilets for over ten years, and upstairs toilets need a deep clean and lick of paint in general). Has potential to be a decent pub, but location and lack of investment and TLC means that this pub sadly will most likely be flats very soon.

We visited The White House for our work Christmas lunch and what a treat! We were upstairs and the setting was lovely with decorations and an open log fire. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. A good time had by all!

Fabulous welcome and helpful team on a surprisingly busy Thursday. Food is amazing - propper gastro pub without being pretentious. Good selection of beers - a shame I was driving.

I didnt have any food here as I just popped in for a coffee before a work meeting- however I sincerely wish there was time to pop back! The lady at the bar as we walked in, was warm and welcoming. The coffee was great and the overall vibe of the place was just top notch. Will be back next time I'm in town. Keep it up!

The taste is as great as other Nandos. But I felt the chicken thighs are smaller when compared to other outlets.

Pipes for draft lagers need to be cleaned. I have been attending the Cowley Retreat since September, mentioned to staff various times of pints being flat, not clean. Amstel especially has a problem, n

The atmosphere was very unwelcoming and the food was terrible. It has the vibe of an old man’s boozer where only locals are welcome. Definitely avoid for food.
