Great traditional beer with excellent beer and cosy atmosphere!

Haven't eaten there yet don't think? But I love this pub. It has that good old fashioned feel of the good old days when pubs were pubs. It's a lovely place to visit.

What a gem of a place! We went during a rugby match and despite the place being super busy, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us, being very kind and professional. The food is always great and the pies are delicious. One of the best pubs in Oxford for sure

Wonderful British food and cozy environment! The pies with fries and salad were delicious ! It can get crowded on the weekends but I recommend the upper floor for who is seeking a less noisy space. The service was careful and they repaired a mistake in our order very promptly . I would definitely come back!

A cracking pub! Great beer, great cheer, great atmosphere!

Overall this is a pretty nice pub. Classic british pub fare with nice pies- vegetarian options available, but not much if you’re vegan (though the small starter plates have a few options and have actually quite generous sizes..!) We had a lovely visit here and sat upstairs which was pleasant. You have to order at the bar though and it can be a little rowdy down there (we were there at around lunch on a Saturday). Nice stop after a walk on Port Meadow!

The pub is awesome for food ambience drink staff - all 5 stars. One problem is a manager, Sam - he is very much a law unto himself. His mo is to annoy somebody into reacting and then ban them. I think he should go into politics and is wasted in a pub and that is not a compliment.

Went in for some muled wine over Christmas. Wasn't the best, plus they'd added an extra £1.50 compared to what you get down the road. Down to three 🌟

Fantastic pub. I held a big birthday party at the Victoria and the whole team were brilliant- couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. The food here is great - no nonsense pies and snacks done really well. We love this pub; highly recommended! Thank you Sam and the team.

Very traditional pub in the city centre of Oxford. Nice ambience and nice menu with different pies (there is one vegeterian and one vegan option). I would recommend booking in advance as it can get crowded sometimes.

Very cozy and traditional pub, the staff is really friendly, professional and understanding. Lot's of drinking options. Whisky is served as it should be and there is a great variety of known and unkown brands. Thus something for everyone!

This the real deal: Whisky for the whisky drinker. Friendly staff. Enjoyed every minute of my time here.

Another great evening at The Victoria. The team were amazing as always and the Oktober Fest beer's / curry wurst currently serving from the Potting Shed bar is definitely worth a visit. We look forward to visiting again soon.

This is a really wonderful pub, staff are always kind, approachable and keen to make sure you have the best experience. Great quality food and conscience and supportive in ensuring they could cater for my gluten free dietary requirements. They also have a fantastic GF beer the peach Jubel - would highly recommend trying it! Sam and his team also made my birthday a wonderful evening to remember ensuring my party of 25 were seen to, whilst serving to the rest of the pub on an extremely busy Saturday night. Huge thanks, highly recommend.

Thesis a straightforward honest to goodness old fashioned pub that serves the most amazing, well-filled pies. The prices are very reasonable. The beers are all up to their usual high standard and that is really all that needs to be said. We were well looked after by the duty staff. The pies were hot and nutritious. Additionally this is a dog friendly pub and our dog was happy to curl up in a corner and relax undisturbed. A great night outing an excellent alternative to some of the more traditional restaurants around Jericho.

Lovely pint of beer, but the steak pie was very dry and of poor quality, as were the chips. Service was slow, considering the order was so straightforward.

Came here for the first time and all of the staff were really friendly and welcoming! Great selection of board games and the Chicken pie was unbelievable! Sam and the team made us feel most welcome. An Oxford must visit.

Not only is the Victoria in a great location, it also has two lovely outdoor areas, the staff are lovely and always bring the dog treats and water! Big shout out to the GM Sam!

Staff always welcoming, good selection of beer and playlist is on point. Regularly come here with our mate who has a dog and they are so friendly, always supply him with a water bowl and treats. Pies are on point as well. Sam always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. One of, if not, the best pubs in Jericho.

A very friendly place. Not quite the right place for me, because the crowd was much younger than I am. But they were friendly to me even so. And I enjoyed my beer, branded as it was for the venomous (but fractally beautiful) Blue Dragon.

Service is a bit slow even though it wasn't too busy, but the place has got a lot of character. Perfect for a night out.

The bar with excellent food and fantastic drinks left a lasting impression on me. The staff was attentive, and the dishes were culinary masterpieces. The bar's cocktail selection was impressive, and the mixologists knew their craft. I loved the attention to detail in the decor and layout, creating a welcoming atmosphere. It's a hidden gem with outstanding service, making it the perfect place for any occasion. I highly recommend this bar for a delightful experience that will keep you coming back for more!

For me, the most welcoming venue in the City.

A very pleasant pint of Hofmeister in the beer garden on a sunny day. I didn't realise it had been relaunched but it has gone from being a 3.2% beer made in Reading to being a 5% beer made in Bavaria which has improved it. Funny that.

Decent venue, beer choice not really my favourites on offer but those I tasted and the wine were good enough. Plenty of different seating areas including outside and a friendly atmosphere.

Had a great early evening here today. Moored on our narrowboat on the Oxford canal and wandered up to Jericho for a look around. Anyway, great pub with lovely staff. Really enjoyed the pie and chips. Simple, no fuss menu. Tasty, filling food at respectable price. Nice beer

When visiting Oxford, we always have to make a pit stop at The Victoria! Beautiful garden, brilliant service and Sam is just wonderful. We will definitely be back.

5/5 stars - we visit this pub every year after doing race for life, our group of around 20 people all fit round one of the long tables on the benches and it’s always a good time!!! The staff are so nice, and the food & drinks are always delicious (especially the camembert omgggg). Thank you Sam and team for always sorting us out!!!!

A killer mezcal old fashioned 👌

I love this pub and have been visiting it for over 20 years. My wife and I decided to visit it yesterday for our mid week date night and for some food, historically they've always served great pies. Last nights experience was very poor! The staff were friendly and the services was great, but the food was well below par. The pie and chips doesn't come with gravy, and only a choice of salad or no salad. No option for peas or similar. Call me old fashioned but who wants a pie with salad?!? The pie was very dry, and was difficult to eat, as well as being shallow and not well filled. This was such a shame because as previously mentioned, we love this pub; but the food leaves much to be desired and we won't be revisiting for food any time soon! We hope the Victoria will return to its former food glory ASAP.

We were “stuck” in Jericho due to being unable to move our narrowboat down the Thames. We went in here a number of times over the days we were here and every time we were made very welcome by the staff and the atmosphere was extremely relaxed at all times. Good selection of craft beers and whilst we didn’t eat here, the food looked excellent. The log fire was a great touch - with the fireplace being bedecked in candles once the sun went down. Wonderful place !

Pleasant staff, decent beer but the food was shockingly poor. Pies, pies or pies with fries and side salad....and the pies were really not good. Hard, dry pastry with insufficient filling.

Traditional British pub with a friendly staff

This is a place if you want a good atmosphere and homely pie to come. The atmosphere is amazing it’s so homely and reminds of pubs back up north ( like a family atmosphere) . The pie’s OMG the best pie in Oxford and that is not an understatement so homely filling and underpriced for the quality for less than £14 I would easily pay £21 . All I can say is it’s great!!!

Hands down my favorite pub in Oxford. They are also whiskey nerds which helps. Their bourbon collection is pretty astonishing as well… they have fires in the winter, the back patio is great year round and has heaters. The Vic rules.

The bar has a great selection of scotch and the bar staff love to help you with your selection. Really impressive. All the wait staff were really friendly and helpful. The pies were hand-made and very good. We ordered the steak & stilton, and the chicken & mushroom. Worth making an effort to visit.

I organised for a crowd of us to meet for a drink and booked some space inside. However, we changed our mind and felt that it might be safer from a Covid point of view to sit outside. We were given tables outside, under cover with lights and heaters. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

1 efficient staff member. The rest poor. But then customers seemed incapable of actually ordering efficiently either. When there is a queue don't have a discussion about stuff!

An interesting pub, it has a front terrace, and back beer garden, inside is split level, with a sunken bar, main bar area, and upstairs seating too, usually a couple of cask ales are available, popular students hangout, but a warm welcome for everyone. A hangover from previous tenants Banks's Brewery is a fine painting on the ceiling of the upstairs room.

Had couple of pints here along with some dinner. The pies were good but the bar was really crowded and often you had to wait for your drinks quite a long time.

Very nice pub with a antique aesthetic and a great selection of drinks, not too expensive and one of the nicest beer gardens around. Didn't get a chance to try the food so I can't speak on that but all in all a good watering hole

One of the best pubs in Oxford. The staff are always super friendly, with a great selection of beers, wine & cocktails. Real fire & great back garden. Oh, and don't forget to check out their awesome spirits collection behind the bar.

One of the Jericho traditional pubs. It is family👪 and pets friendly 🐶 with large spaces and options for extended bookings. 📍Location: In a very central place in the heart of Jericho area in Oxford. 🍻 Drinks: They have a nice variety of wines and beers. No cocktails. 🍲 Food: it's not exactly the typically pub food, which is not necessarily bad, considering their rich and delicious range of British pies combined with a good nibbles variety. 🏠 Building: they have a lovely front yard area not recommended during sunny☀️ days, instead you can stay in their lovely back garden those days. 🅿 Parking: there are limited spaces with 2hour free parking in the surrounding streets. There is also the option to pay, in a walking distance from the pub, in Walton road, in Great Clarendon Street or in the Port Meadow South Parking.

Only stopped here briefly to get out the sun on a hot day but stumbled across my perfect pub. Good mix of old traditional pub with quirky modern touches, bar staff friendly and chatty, good selection of drinks (including pint glasses in the fridge for a bonus point) 2 outdoor seating areas, one sun trap and one oasis of a green and tranquil covered tables, could have stayed all day and night and still wanted to return the next, unfortunately I live in South Wales and the taxi fares would start to add up.

Bloody lovely boozer in a great part of town. The inside is cozy and uncomplicated, with enough seating and interior design to create a great atmosphere and make you instantly comfortable. The food is simple, in a good way, with a range of pies served with fries and salad. And both the drinks and service are top notch. This was my first visit and I look forward to more to come.

Unfortunately I have no pictures to share because I visited this place on my birthday and was a bit overwhelmed by the love of friends. Notwithstanding, I highly recommend this place - if not anything, but the warmth and hospitality of the servers. Every meal was brought with a smile and it was worth it. Most of us had fries and chicken - and it was good, not spectacular- but good! Well, maybe don’t go with too many person because it tends to get pretty hot 😂😂 when you have like 20 persons squashed in the lounge area. I did have a great time! But I guess I’ll revisit the place and get a more objective view later in the month
