After originally prebooking an afternoon tea in November, to travel to Liverpool and turn up to find the restaurant shut, we had rebooked in December following the Manager calling to be extremely apologetic. I wish we hadn't - from the minute we walked in we had 0 service (and the place was basically empty). After waiting 45 minutes, our savoury part of the afternoon tea came. We then waited another 20 minutes and I grabbed the man to ask where the desserts were, he said sorry I will go ask them to do them - so god knows what would have happened if I hadn't asked. After waiting another twenty minutes I asked the man again where the rest of the food was, so he said he would go ask, and once again, never returned. In the end we went up to the bar to say we were leaving and to forget the rest of the afternoon tea, and without even looking at us, the waiter just said don't worry about paying just leave. We would never have paid for such an awful experience, but to have no apology - particularly after giving them a second chance!!! Do not waste your money - a big establishment like this should be ashamed of that type of service. Definitely a dying bar

We have just returned from this lovely dog friendly Pub. Warm welcome, cosy log burner, attentive staff and an interesting menu. The cheese soufflĆ© was outstanding as was the duck torte with cherries. Excellent fish and chips and a great wine list. We couldnāt fault this place and will certainly be back.

Beware if you are a COELIAC This place says its chips are cooked in a separate fryer which they may well be. However I ate six ā gluten freeā chips and two hours later bloating and nausea. Still with me the day after. There must have been gluten contamination somewhere - all it needs is a hand, an implement, ANYTHING to have been contaminated with just a tiny speck of gluten to cause a reaction ( vomiting diarrhoea severe pain dizziness for up to a week) At least it didnāt make me sick this time. Every hotel cafe restaurant in the country should be trained in gluten intolerance/ coeliac. Actually not an intolerance but a serious auto immune disease which can cause hospital admission. We wonāt be going back needless to say.

I go to this restaurant to meet a very special and dear friend and we always have a lovely meal. A long and chatty lunch where we are served so nicely and never rushed. We ate here on Thursday 12 September 2024 and it was as usual a very good standard. We had pate and a prawn cocktail for starters. Chicken and salmon for mains and it was all really delicious, such a treat. The starters came with toast and butter and the mains were with mixed vegetables. We then decided to ditch the diets and we had a tiramisu each! The whole meal was so nice, we had a bottle of wine, a beer and two coffees. We were not rushed in any way and could take our time to chat. To those who complain about the prices, honestly, you should try eating out in Manchester city centre. This place is great value for money. Overall, a very decent meal, good service and a good atmosphere. Thank you so much Puccinis for being there when we need you.

Went in for food for 6 people, firstly we were told they might not be able to serve us as they were busy, even though there were hours left before they stop serving. I got a pie by the time the chips which come with the meal came out,the pie was cold .for the amount of money ,we spent on our table the service was rubbish, been in before and had to wait a long time to be served (wasnt many in )they really need to sort this problem out as lots of locals are saying the same thing, its a shame because its a nice looking pub, its run by a team that has a few pubs,so dont think he cares what people think

Great choice of beer, great place to go with friends, allows dogs too! Beer constantly changing but a few favourites always remain. My local, my go to pub. Some outdoor picnic table seats for warm, sunny days too. What's not to like? Fab pub Love the new Spitting Feathers pale ale, Extra Mile. Great taste and great value
