The best restaurants in North West

Having visited the restaurant for years, and enjoyed all of it. My partner did the books many years ago. We have stuck with it through all the many changes & styles of food offered. Unfortunately we went for Sunday Roast , last Sunday. The beef was sold out, my partner took the pork which was too fatty, I took the ham shank which looked like it had been boiled & was totally unacceptable to me. We complained quietly to an older waitress, who tried to help with a strange type of beef? We were told to complain to Charlotte ( restaurant manager) who went home early on Sunday, & would not be on duty until Wednesday? Having decided that was enough, we grudgingly paid, and left, never to return ever! we were treated badly!

Good cocktail menu, some different choice from the run of the mill - plus the barman puts a shamrock on your pint of Guinness!

This place is VERY good. I live in Asia and have eaten a lot of Asian food in my life. Not 100% authentic, as ingredients are difficult to get here but 100% DELICIOUS. We had the chicken red curry, duck bao buns, spring rolls and tofu pad thai. Fully recommend!

It’s not often I’m stuck for words! We walked in and had the most beautiful welcome ever from the girl with the blonde curly hair. I could instantly tell the food was going to be good, you can just tell sometimes. The atmosphere was unreal. The food was a taste sensation. Please please go here. If you like food, tapas, sangria to die for then go here. Absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to come back ! Love Libby xxx

When the bar staff ignore you in favour of a larger group it's disappointing. I thank the young man being served who informed the staff I was before him. (The staff member was unapologetic). Sad to drop my rating. Not sure you can give a good rating to a place with such overwhelmed staff. So we went somewhere else. The service is poor and good luck getting politeness or efficiency. There was even a fellow ahead of me trying to place a large meal order complaining about the service. I formerly gave this venue four stars, but the service is non-existent.

This is our 3rd visit to the Bombay Palace after spectating at our last car rally of the season and stopping in Chester overnight. When I booked our meals the guy remembered us from previous years, the service is great, the food is superb and the place thats always full has a fantastic atmosphere. It will be always 5 stars for the Bombay Palace and see you all same time next year. Also if members of our group are stopping in Chester over the year they always go to this place for food.

A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend and I ate here. In addition to the pasta being very delicious, the girl who served us had an excellent sense of attention to service! We talked with her about our stay and trip from Mexico. Totally recommended.

We visited this bistro as we were staying nearby. We prebooked a table on two occasions, but there was plenty tables available while we were there. This would be different at peak season. The food selection is good, and well cooked and very tasty. The food is plentiful on the plate. Service was a bit slower on our second visit but did not detract from the meal. One thing to remember is to take your receipt as you get a discount in the distillery shop.

Absolutely ! Complete ! Rubbish! Beware Christmas at the PUNCH BOWL was a complete disaster!!! Michalin star ???? When I saw food being brought in by the owner Mr Rose In plastic ? Containers ? No relpy to complaints ……….. Think thrice before booking please ..,,,,,,.. for your own sake ….

With no water in our village due to an accident and damaged pipeline, cooking at home wasn't so appealing so we headed off to our favourite bar and restaurant, the Corner House. The place was busy and technically full as many people had the same idea, but the staff rallied round to make room for us and despite them being run off their feet, the food and service was still absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to Luke and the rest of the staff, you really pulled it out of the bag... and this is exactly why we go back there time and time again. We couldn't recommend it more, 5 stars every time.

Things have changed , i have been coming here for 20 years for the cheesey garlic bread and half and half. The gentleman said it wasn’t on the menu but he would add a bit if i wanted. True the prices have gone up and it wasn’t as busy . I hope this is not a downturn in trade as we love the place.

OMG the food here is fantabulous i cannot recommend it enough. Always clean and the staff are so patient and polite. Thank you guys.

Called in for breakfast. Service was prompt and the food tasty. Friendly atmosphere.
