Really lovely evening, very attentive friendly staff. The food was gorgeous, cod and salad as delicious starters then we had a mixed paella for two. All the food was amazing. We’ve been to this restaurant several times and it’s always been top class. We will definitely be back soon.

Snugbury’s has been a family tradition since I was a kid to now with my own kids. The kids love trying to be the first ones to spot the hay sculpture (which is currently Paddington) on the drive to it. We went this time to start the spooky season off, as they have currently a lovely little pumpkin patch and spooky trail leading up to Paddington. They have decorated it beautifully. They also have a fire pit to toast marshmallows. A food truck serving hotdogs and also snugpuds and not to mention the ice cream! It’s a perfect place for an afternoon out.

We rarely choose to go to a pub for Sunday lunch as we're so often disappointed. No fear here - beautiful meat cooked perfectly, pillowy Yorkshire pubs, great attention to detail paid to every veg on the plate. Cracking pint, lovely wine, friendly and efficient staff. A top 5 Sunday pub roast for us. Excellent.

Quality restaurant one of the best in St Helens, The food is always great quality the staff are always friendly. We are always welcomed with a friendly smile from the owner Fez an when ever he's not busy he will always approach your table once you've finished your food to have a bit of a chat with us. We have been coming this restaurant for many years and will continue to do so.

Cozy little pub by evening, absolutle party at night. Foods nothing special but it is good cost is about normal for a pub. It's a nice location and maintained well. After 11 it has a good happy hour and it's really busy. Staff are nice and I'd recommend for an after party or finishing off the night out.

Stayed here for 2 nights, welcoming at check in and very friendly. Reminded reception that we had a dog with us which I had previously contacted the hotel about to be told there was no charge, however now there was a charge of £10 per night. Our room was small (we booked the standard) however it looked nicely decorated and homely. We noticed that once we put the lights on that there were multiple marks on the walls, splashes, damage to the door going into the bathroom which meant the door no longer had a lock just a handle and unfortunately the silicone in the shower was very mouldy. Our first nights sleep wasn’t great, it turns out that the window in room 2 next to the door is damaged which prevents it from sealing shut which allows in all of the noise from the fan/condenser from the walk in freezer which is bellow and the traffic noise from the road which is a main road and is busy from 5am. Our second nights sleep was better but I’m sure that was because we were exhausted from a poor nights sleep the previous night and a busy day walking. We just felt that the room which does not include breakfast is not worth it. The room was tired and grubby in need of a revamp. The small stream outside our bathroom window saved the trip, the view was beautiful and such a relaxing noise. We also choose to stay for dinner in the restaurant on our first night. The restaurant is small and has a country feel. It is however definitely not a seafood or steak pub, a very small menu with at least 3 different flavour pies on and another on the specials board. Only 1 steak on the menu which just happens to be a 6oz fillet priced at £35. My partner is gluten free, I informed the restaurant when making my reservation a week prior to our stay, there were only 3 GF options on the menu. Steak, battered haddock or a chicken and mushroom dish. Well, because he also has a mushroom allergy and refuses to pay £35 for a steak haddock it was. He said it tasted lovely, light and fresh. However within an hour of eating it he suspected that he had been glutened unable to prove but the rest of the night wasn’t great for him. I had the burger, it was tasty but nothing spectacular, bought in fries and coleslaw but not, just red cabbage mixed with mayo and a little gem lettuce leaf. £25 for 2 pints of cider and a double gin and tonic sums up the pricing. All in all, not worth it. Go to the Cross Keys up the road, better value and so much more choice. To add breakfast to your booking which I was unable to do when making it is £15 a head. We decided against this, as the previous nights dinner put us off. Too sum it up, the photos on the website and on booking.com are outdated and the advertisement of a seafood and steak pub is so far from the truth. Great location could have been an amazing break away for us but lacked a lot. The car park is terrible and full of pot holes which isn’t great. I was going to mention all of the above when we checked out however at reception we were not asked how our stay was and payment was pushed through quickly.
