This is the second time that we have visited this lovely place , and it was as brilliant as the first time. The Manager and staff are so lovely and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. They do all their own baking on the premises and the hot chocolate is amazing. It is situated next to Booth's at Windermere train station.
When you're in the area you must call in, they also have activities in the evening , ie board games, Celtic nights etc, and absolute gem of a place
Worth the 3*.
Great atmosphere - pretty informal for a 3*. Love the original anvil (=enclume in French). Friendly staff - and special shout out to our sommelier Dora! 15 dishes to go through: a wonderful culinary journey.
It was a wonderful experience.
Only suggestion for improvement: given the price of a meal, parking should be included (the only option nearby is the cartmel race course, which charged us £8 for 4h…)
Booked in for the winter set menu and it was lovely. The range of food was perfect and the presents was beautiful. Each dish was introduced by a member of staff with a bit of explanation. Our waiter Harry was very helpful with wine choices and menu knowledge. Overall I would recommend the restaurant and definitely the set menu as it was excellent value at £49 per head. We will go again
We came here while staying in cartmel for 2 nights. Staff were great & food was beautiful. It was really busy after the races on the Friday & great atmosphere.
Popped in for a quick bite to eat but we did not expect what was delivered to our table soon after ordering.
The food was absolutely delicious,I enjoyed a spinach, cheese and mushroom quiche that had been freshly made that morning and potato salad dressed with a grain mustard dressing with tossed lettuce leaves along with beautiful crispy chips .
My husband enjoyed a pastrami ciabatta, it was succulent and accompanied with Swiss cheese, salad and a Russian dressing. Served with crispy chips it was a good plateful!
All was enjoyed in a lovely warm atmosphere.
Thank you so much Joshua Tree.
Excellent place, fantastic beer, warm, welcoming and the food looked good too. Everything that a brewery place should be. Our new number one now Hawkshead has been shut down.
Had an amazing meal with my wife to celebrate her birthday. The food was superb, good quality, tasty (especially the ribs) and excellent value for money. The Manager, Andrew, arranged a booking for us at short notice and, on the evening, the service was perfect. We would definitely recommend this restuarant to everyone.
Had a lovely meal at Amigos with friends. We pre-ordered and gave the names of all the diners and what they had ordered so when staff brought the food out they could say who they were for. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive even though they were really busy. Can highly recommend.
Pleasant venue, it's not often you find a venue that know less is more when it comes to background music and 70' 80's music era. Staff were very accommodating and pleasantly friendly. Food was both of quality and plentiful. Reasonably prices and overall a great experience. This place is a must for locals and those visiting.
A limited selection of Great tastes but all were superbly delivered, attentive but not overbearing staff, timely service and a cozy place, not sure about the chairs but not something I'd worry about. We will be going again.
I dined here tonight with family. It was amazing food, so flavoursome and tasty. Brilliant dining experience, friendly staff and very attentive. Lovely building and decore too. Not too pricey either, what you’d expect from a nice restaurant. I’d recommend to anybody!
Just another quick visit on a Saturday night for a few beers but the place was buzzing due to a match being screened. Drink and service was very good and it makes a good alternative option to the other Ambleside bars x
Buzzing bar, arrived in the middle of the Manchester football match with a great atmosphere.
Beer was spot in as were the staff and service - would deffo recommend visit x
Really quaint little village shop that's a bit like Mar Poppins handbag.
Don't know how they can cram soooooo much stuff into such a little shop
Really fairly priced and alot more on offer than just the expected famous 'sticky toffee pudding' which is to die for and us served hot to take away
