This establishment seems to have changed its name so it possibley has a new proprietor also, however this is no detriment. It’s a nice clean cafe with friendly and helpful staff. We only had coffee which was good, but there was also a good selection of cakes, sausage rolls etc.All in all a nice experience.
This is the second time that we have visited this lovely place , and it was as brilliant as the first time. The Manager and staff are so lovely and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. They do all their own baking on the premises and the hot chocolate is amazing. It is situated next to Booth's at Windermere train station.
When you're in the area you must call in, they also have activities in the evening , ie board games, Celtic nights etc, and absolute gem of a place
The staff were so welcoming and the atmosphere was brilliant! A special mention to Sophie who went above and beyond to help me find my bracelet. The owner should be proud of having such a wonderful team. Thanks again, Lucie.
Fantastic food...caters for all.....staff really helpful and friendly, always willing to help.
Linda, Mark and staff definitely 'go that extra mile'
Cater for various functions and menus differ to suite everyone.
Give it a try....you will not be disappointed.

As a coach driver whi goes all over the country i go to many establishments and always try and give an honest review for my passengers and readers
Met up with my family for this day out after bringing 56 ramblers to the area
First impressions
Very clean and welcoming place and extra tables outside which is always good when weather nice!
Slight problem with wheelchair and luckily was my 3 yr old sons so only small wouldn't reccomend a wheelchair as had to adjust tables to make viable and not interfere with other customers also tables very light and with my autistic non verbal son was a bit difficult to keep them in one place but in all fairness that's on me as a parent
The cafe was very clean and the food was made fresh we had 2 x full breakfast2 x beans on toast for kids 2 lattes and 2 carton drinks originally came to 44 30 didn't think this was right which was corrected as was overcharged 6 quid so just check your bill as they do have a new system in was no issue 😋
Toilet very small and again no good for my son with a wheel chair so in all honesty for disabilities if your scooter or wheelchair bound I'd give it a miss as is only a small cafe
Staff
Professional polite and really welcoming
Would call again however bit of feedback maybe child prices would be good for beans on toast although did get a big portion 1.75 for a carton drink normally pound is a bit steep again maybe a meal deal for children
Reserve a table! Even if you see some tables free, they may not be able to seat you because they want to ensure a great experience so the don't take more people then they can cook and serve for comfortably.
The menu is always excellent, with plenty of delicious and varied options and because everything is cooked fresh, they can easily cater to dietary requirements, I am a coeliac (gluten free) and had plenty to choose from. They do note that everything is cooked in a kitchen where allergens are present but they are careful and I have never had an issue.
The staff are friendly, welcoming and personable, we had a lovely family dinner. As a family with young children, we got in early which meant we could enjoy the set menu, if you choose off the special boards instead, it cam get a little pricey but the specials board is well, special... it's got the delicious sounding fancy stuff on it. I was perfectly happy with the risotto I enjoyed with a nice house wine and the gluten free sticky toffee pudding! My kids loved their fish fingers and chips, they had all the usual suspects for kids or would also do a small version of the adult meals. Even their fish and chips were a bit special, clearly decent quality.
So glad to be back and we'll definitely be back again the next time we visit Ambleside.
This place is so comfortable to sit and have a drink. Staff are warm and friendly. Our Bailey's coffee and double hot chocolate were delicious. The sheep-themed decor is ever so sweet, yet tasteful. A variety of music plays in the background (not all of it to certain staff's tastes), but it's not loud.
This place was recommended by Tourist Information and I'm so pleased it was.
We came here while staying in cartmel for 2 nights. Staff were great & food was beautiful. It was really busy after the races on the Friday & great atmosphere.
Stopped here for lunch and I had the hunters chicken ciabatta with sweet potato fries. It was very nice indeed. My only complaint was that I got a bone in the chicken which I was going to point out but no-one came to us to ask how our meal was or to take our dishes away, the staff were upstairs as it was closing time and they were clearing up (I assume). When we went to pay for it the girl didn't ask if everthing was ok or how our meal was so I didn't bother saying anything. It didn't stop me from enjoying my meal or my time spent here.
