The Hot Mango Cafe in South Lakeland

Great food, very friendly staff, being dog friendly was handy too. I am a bit of a coffee connosuir....it was way too hot, the milked was boiled rather than a silky texture. Wasn't really what I'd expect from a flat white. But our lunch was good.

Really annoyed to have travelled 18 miles today to use your cafe only to find you closed! If this is for ‘ unforeseen circumstances’, please have the manners to say so. I’m so annoyed.

Fantastic, we enjoyed our meal, the food was absolutely delicious and our server was fabulous, we will be back for a brunch, so lucky to have this super place on our doorstep I had a fish starter and main and both were absolutely cooked to perfection

Enjoyed a superb breakfast this morning. I was delighted to find out that the potato rosti was gluten free. It was well worth waiting for as it was delicious! There was also an option of gluten free bread. All the breakfasts looked amazing with generous portions. Staff were friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. If you’re planning to visit on a Saturday morning make sure you book to avoid disappointment.

Called in early one cold morning for a couple of breakfasts and coffee. All deliciously cooked. Very friendly staff and dog friendly.

Go there regularly with friends always have a lovely meal. Food is always delicious. Lovely staff very friendly and prices are good. Never feel hurried or rushed. Would recommend to anyone wanting lovely food, staff, surroundings.

Popped in to try Hot Mango for the first time today. Tried their parsnip and pear soup with granary bread which was plentiful and delicious. Gave the place a 3 star rating as I think customer interaction can be improved on. No one greeted me on arrival so I went to what I thought was an empty table for 2 and stood and placed my order at the counter and then was directed to the window counter facing the wall. ( no reservation signs on the tables, but didn't object.) Just thought it was a bit odd. I had my soup and left. No one said thanks or good bye. Whilst there another couple came in and stood by the door waiting to be seated. They were not acknowledged and left and went elsewhere.

Called in this morning,for a breakfast. Anyone that knows me,knows I like my food. The breakfast came out a short time,after ordering. It was huge,I didn't know if to climb it or eat it? Everything was cooked perfectly & was also fresh & piping hot. The quality of food,was superb. The staff & place it's self,was very clean,friendly & inviting. Don't visit Ulverston,without finding this Gem,for bite to eat,you won't be disappointed.

You know when you turn up for breakfast on a rainy Tuesday morning in October, and half the tables are reserved, that you are in for a treat. Fabulous food and lovely service. Interesting and imaginative menu. The potato rostis are well worth the wait.

Very nice cafe. Food and service was good. We had the French toast with bacon and maple syrup. Big portion, very tasty. Coffee was good tood, we will return.

We have just sat outside & both enjoyed a baby breakfast. It was lovely. Very nice quality food & only came across it by accident. Would reccomend.

Everything was absolutely perfect

I feel awful leaving a mid-negative review as we've really enjoyed our visits and meals here previously, so I am sorry to the team. The service and cleanliness is brilliant, but the food really disappointed us on this occasion. I ordered the BBQ Chicken and Bacon panini and it was the most difficult thing to eat. The chicken was bland and incredibly chewy, not sliced or diced - just what felt like a whole chicken breast crammed into one panini. The bacon was thick and equally as chewy. The BBQ was nice but there wasn't much in the panini to enjoy. My boyfriend ordered the soup of the day - Celery and Stilton with a tuna sandwich and he said his was quite nice. But on trying mine, he agreed it lacked any flavour and was too chewy to eat. I'm really, really hoping it was just a one off as we were hoping to book an evening meal in there. I wouldn't write the place off but definitely won't be ordering anything with chicken or bacon there next time!

Stopped in for brunch on a busy Saturday, food was delicious and staff could not be more helpful. Baby changing facilities were available and cafe was breastfeeding friendly which made me feel very comfortable and reassured as a new mum to my 9 week old.

Came for breakfast. We were a big group of 6 and they immediately moved the cafe around to accommodate us. It was lovely service, best I've ever seen in a small cafe. The food was incredible and all came out at the same time. The coffee was fresh and high-quality. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Really lovely cafe. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door . The staff were very friendly and it was obvious customer service is very important. We had breakfast and our plates were full and the food was great. Couldn't have asked for more with both the service and the food.Would highly recommend .

saved our bacon as the hotels wi fi was pants so used the free wi fi here and very nice coffee and food was also served

A lovely little gem in the heart of the town. Staff friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were excellent. I had rosti with the smashed avocado..my husband had the traditional breakfast and said the fried bread is the best he's had out anywhere. Dog friendly. Would highly recommend

We are very impressed with this Cafe. The breakfast was great. My wife had the baby English which was a good size, I ha porridge also very good. The menu is quite extensive. The staff are very pleasant. I would fully recommend this Cafe.

Stopped here for breakfast with my wife and my grandson, I cant recomend it enough. To start off they let us in early as they wernt open and it was chilly, we were greeted with a smile and ushered to a table. The breakfast when it arrived was the best in english breakfasts, all fresh and quality ingredients. We settled for the smaller of the two on the menu and that was plenty for us(we saw a large breakfast come out and it was gargantuan! ) Good value for money would definatly return

My husband and I ate here in January. I'm vegan and although there was nothing specially vegan on the menu, the chef made me a delicious roasted vegetable sandwich. My husband (non vegan) also enjoyed his food. I do hope that you can add vegan options to your menu as I am sure they would be very tasty.

Top notch, proper fry-up. Absolutely first class. Tea is good too. A real find. The photo is missing one hash brown - I couldn't resist!

We actually travel to ulverston to go here even on a wet day really busy we had dinner the chips were chunky and really nice with a brown paint advscsdo and chicken

We were really excited to have a vegetarian English breakfast and were not disappointed. Great food! We shared the breakfast, had orange juice and two coffee and were satisfied for a crazy low price

I took some friends for dinner on Saturday night - what a fantastic evening. Brilliant service (even though they were very busy), great food and lovely atmosphere. We had the prawn gratin, sea bass and chicken supreme.. all excellent. Would highly recommend.

The English breakfast here was so nice that we called again several times during our visit to Ulverston. The food was always perfectly cooked, good quality and not at all greasy. Spot on.

We popped in to the Hot Mango cafe on our last day of holiday in the Lakes after seeing that they did takeaway hot breakfasts. So glad we did! We both had the vegetarian breakfast, very enjoyable, everything was cooked perfectly and very reasonably priced....

Had a breakfast, very good quality, friendly staff, latte a bit weak and hot chocolate could have done with been stronger but breakfast made up for it. Fresh bread, local produce and very tasty, would highly recommend.

The best thing about this place is the staff who are really welcoming and super friendly, full marks there, and during the pandemic they kept their customer facing experience positive and welcoming rather than bransdish draconian rules and high security entrance systems like some other...

After a recent stay in the area visited here a couple times. The food was very good quality. The bread used is lovely and really made our breakfasts. The staff were really friendly too and wish we had tried one of their bistro nights.

The quality of the food was good but service needs improvement. If you are a single person dining by yourself don't expect a welcoming service. They struggle to seat you or allow you to make a booking. This place was recommended and I went back twice to find a seat. Disappointed!

We didn't book but the waitress manged to fit us in and it was a Saturday night, she was so lovely and friendly, the food was gorgeous and the portion sizes were well worth it. I would definitely recommend going.

I never leave google reviews but this place was a great little find. Dog friendly which we needed this morning. Hubby built his own breakfast and I had the baby English with gluten free toast. It was very tasty. Poached eggs where better then perfect. Will definitely visit again if in Ulverston. 😀

I collected a 'Big Englsh' breakfast today. The service if very friendly and efficient. The breakfast itself was all cooked perfectly, all ingredients are of a high standard, I'm guessing but it seemed like dry cured bacon and proper quality sausages wirh a high meat content. And a good cup of green tea to wash it down. I'd give 6 stars if it was possible.

Visited here 2 days ago, just after opening. Had the Eggs Royale with a pot of tea. Freshly cooked and very tasty. Definitely recommended.

Really tasty food, good portion size, great service and nice environment. We were really happy to stumble across this, especially on a Monday when most cafes are closed.

First time there very cold who would paint doors when your open sat looking at the lady's loo with door open they had taken off the handles so got paint on my hands not impressed but the food was good

We went on a Friday night : when Mango is open till later. Had a fabulous burger & possibly one of the best I’ve ever had. It was great being able to take a bottle of our favour Red with us & gladly paying £3 Corkage. Thoroughly recommend!
