Popped in to what looked like a pleasant little cafe busy on a sunny afternoon I wanted a takeaway cheese sandwich. I was shocked after ordering to find it was £7.25! Two pieces of sliced brown bread with some cheese and a thin covering of pickle! Tiny bit of side salad. Sorry but I got a cheaper sandwich in fortnum and Mason. I at least thought it would be on artisan bread.

Went for lunch and cake with my friend this place did not disappoint. Friendly atmosphere and great food. It seems like a busy little place there were people coming in and out but we weren’t kept waiting long for our food. Will definitely be back. :)

Perfectly cooked and presented small English breakfast. Gordon, James and Jacqui have put together an excellent cafe, with seating inside and out. I will definitely return when I am next in Grange. Thanks guys.

Go here every Sunday for a great breakfast with my husband. Excellent food and great service from Anna and her hubby who we have become good friends with since they opened. Will be so sorry to see this cafe change hands as it was a wee gem. Hope the new owner continues the good work Anna and Trevor have put into this lovely café Elizabeth & Alan

We found this lovely little cafe last year and have returned many times on our weekend visits to Grange. The scones are second to none and coffee always very nice. The couple that own it are very friendly. It is always spotlessly clean and it is always our first choice of cafe.

Run by a dedicated couple for over 20 years, Cafe Grange is a hidden gem in Grange over Sands which deserves far more custom & success than it has currently. Cafe Grange is open during the Winter at weekends between 10am & 4pm and in the Summer months also during the week (except Mondays). We happened upon this lovely little cafe having failed in our quest to secure a late breakfast at one of the most highly rated cafes in Grange which (foolishly, in my view) stopped serving breakfasts at 11.30am. A small home-made sign near the railway station roundabout signposted us on a 2 minute walk to the cafe where we were delighted to discover that breakfasts are served until at least 12 noon (and a sometimes later if they are not too busy!) Cafe Grange serves a wide range of hot drinks and cooked breakfast options, toasties, sandwiches and very pleasant scones and cakes. The food quality was excellent and the welcome & service were brilliant. After concluding our breakfast we vowed to return for afternoon tea & cake after our walk up Hampsfell. All in all, we had a great time at this cafe and would recommend it highly and especially to those who find the prospect of paying £13.95 for a breakfast at another local "posh" cafe a bit hard to swallow.
