The best restaurants in South Lakeland North West

Service left something to be desired but the beer was superb and it’s obviously a quality pub

Great place with an exciting menu for all: gluten free and coeliac. Friendly, efficient service and a lovely terrace to indulge whilst watching the world go by.

Lovely meals. I wasn't too big on some of the other places in the local area when I was visiting, then I found the Stan Laurel Inn - the food is great, much more special than your typical 'pub grub'. I'd definitely visit again if I'm around Ulverston. edit: went back after visiting the area for a walk. Curried mince special was good, served with nice freshly made chips.

We waited outside for a short while for a shared table and received our food promptly. The queue remained out the door whilst we were there, getting longer! They serve hearty breakfasts with delicious flavour that are perfect to start a day of exploring the trip the lakes.

We were welcomed with a smile and thankfully we had a reservation as this is a popular place. The music was at the appropriate volume, relaxing and you could still have a conversation. The staff is attentive without being overbearing. The food was phenomenal, especially the fish and the meat tapas, so you can't go wrong with any of them. Unfortunately we were disappointed by the simplest dish of all. The patatas bravas were more like fried fries in cubes, than actually the real thing. A small omission for sure, but when you command this kind of prices, you expect perfection. For sure, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable experience for meat aficionados but not for potato lovers!

Arrived on a Tuesday only offering pizza bit soggy was nice but very pricey.

We had the best wedding at Broadoaks in October last year. Everything was amazing. Issie, our wedding coordinator was great, as were all the staff throughout our two days stay. The place itself is stunning and was great for our wedding of around 35 people.

Had another fabulous visit to Heidi's yesterday. Such a gorgeous cafe - my favourite in the Lakes! The staff are always so welcoming and love the food!

Opening times were posted on website so I was sent to this cafe. Unfortunately after a long journey there I found it shut. Would like to think that if your are shut this would be reflected on your website (Sunday morning (2/2/25).

Fantastic lunch and a takeaway cake as so full,staff & service excellent defiantly will be back.

Great location near Windermere town centre with great views across the hills from the restaurant. Lovely food and good and attentive service.

Fab little bar in bowness, great location right off the high street. Great live singer during our time here, which gave great atmosphere.

We came here for dinner and all I can say is the food was outstanding! Taste sensation. We were very well looked after by the waitressing staff as well — well done!

Didn't have food save for the dry roasted peanuts which were exquisite 😁 Lovely little pub with a beer garden that catches the evening sun, friendly staff with a proper old school pub feel, which is getting harder to come by these days, great selection of ales, will definitely be back.

Amazing food, huge portions. Great service. Good value for money. Highly recommend.
