The Cornish Bakery in South Lakeland

Bought a pistachio croissant yesterday omg the best ever, shame i was travelling back to North Wales otherwise i would have gone back and bought a try full 😋

My absolute favourite bakery whilst in Ambleside (Lake District) I popped in this morning before a hike for two ridiculously amazing pistachio croissants! Also had one of their delicious cappuccinos. Dawn who took my order was an absolute hero. She even treat my dog to some doggy biscuits whilst we waited. Dawn, thank you for you cheerful personality which set us up for a very positive day in the fells. Hopefully will catch you again the next time we visit, as Dennis dog never forgets a face (someone that gives him treats :)

Lovely small shop with plenty of options for lunch. Seating for a small group. Nice coffee and good vegetarian options.

Needed my caffeine fix badly today, the legend that Javier made the perfect coffee to keep me going through my busy day. I'll definitely be going back, best coffee in Ambleside

We ordered Chai latte and an almond milk single shot latte. Cups are getting smaller aren't they so we asked for a large cup which wasn't really an option but the gent serving made us a large anyway!. Moments of outstanding service are rare and this truly was one. The gent was polite, friendly and interested and made the coffee with passion. The experience was great, bravo 👌👏

After driving by and smelling the pastries I nipped on here to check out the reviews. Ordered a pistachio croissant (oh my word), Pastel De Nata and a Pain au Raisin. The pistachio croissant was well worth the hype- light, flaky, not overly sweet. Yum yum. Was a bit disappointed with the custard tart- maybe because I'd been spoilt by the croissant. The cherry & almond croissants look beautiful too. Lovely friendly service.

Absolutely love this place. Food and service (thank you Dawn) are the best and I'd highly recommend it. We're staying in Ambleside for the week, and they do the most amazing croissants, freshly baked each morning. My husband is a huge fan of the delicious pasties too.

Have been in the lakes for the week and already been in windermere so called into ambleside today, lovely wee bakery, shame only 1 table, so we did take away.. Lattes and bronuts, really enjoyed them and coffee was great too

Came for day out in Ambleside and decided to have a coffee and pastry at the Cornish Bakery, amazing food, beautiful coffee and great friendly service, will definitely visit again next time! And they gave us a pastry on the house!

Started off in keswick had a lovely breakfast so decided when saw there was a cornish bakery in ambleside too we would go for lunch , lovely staff all smiles, great range off pasties... so we had couple off pasties and a cake each and lovely latte to wash it down.. Wouldn't hesitate to go back and would defo recommend to gamily and friends

The best pistachio croissant ever. Incredible consistency and flavours, made fresh daily. Magical, definitely recommend trying it out!

Beautiful and cosy bakery . Scrumptious coffee, cinnamon buns and sausage rolls . Excellent and friendly service . Dogs are welcome and even get a little treat. A nice spot to restore and refresh after walking the countryside .

We had to leave our b&b early today and hoped this cafe was open, timed it perfectly as the cherry and almond croissants had just been baked. Absolutely gorgeous! As was the coffee. Dawn was so friendly, service and food was excellent, it made my day 😊

I spotted this coffee shop yesterday, it was the divine looking pastries that drew me in! So this morning on the way back from walking Toby (the Beagle) I popped in to get a coffee. From stepping through the door, Dawn gave me the most warm and friendly welcome. Not only that but she greeted Toby by his name and came around the counter to give him some treats. He then didn't want to leave and I had to drag him away! I had a cappuccino which was just perfect. Throughout, Dawn was chatting with me and had such a smile on her face. Honestly, it is the little things that make a difference and The Cornish Bakery in Ambleside have nailed it. I'll definitely be back and encourage everyone to pop in when you can and get yourself a little treat 😊✨️

Literally the best bakery I’ve been to. Me and my gf were on holiday when we discovered this bakery and we went here every morning. Coffees were so good. The pastries were amazing. The pistachio croissants are award winning quality. They are so addictive!!

We were in Ambleside to do some walking and went into the Cornish bakery every morning. Excellent coffee and the almond croissants are delicious. We were served by Dawn who was very friendly and helpful and gave us some walking recommendations. We'll definitely come here whenever we're back in Ambleside

Just what we needed after a night in a tent following a 100km trail race! Amazing coffee and fresh pastries and Dawn was to lovely to chat too. Highly recommend the Portuguese Fancy's.

Excellent pastries and hot drinks here as always and Dawn was super friendly to me and my son. She made our breakfast time a joy.

We popped in here on Monday 29th for coffee and pastries before driving home to scotland. The lady behind the counter, I think she was called Dawn, was absolutely lovely, super friendly. Our coffees and pastries were gorgeous and so fresh. We bought some goodies to take home with us and they were gorgeous too. We will definitely be back when we are next down visiting.

These are best pastries anywhere to die for. Only down side only one table inside which we shared, even our dog was allowed in.

Best coffee in the village bar none! Great selection of pastries and cakes. If you’re lucky enough to be served by dawn then your day will certainly be brightened by her lovely bubbley attitude that can turn a bad day around. 5 stars from me.

A lovely team, service with a smile, despite being up before everyone else in Ambleside! The pastries, freshly cooked in the premises every morning, are a delight, as are the cakes and pasties. Best of its kind in Ambleside, and I’ve tried all of the alternatives over the years.

A visit to this warm and welcoming establishment is a must! It has a great selection of excellent freshly made savoury bites, pastries, cakes and beverages to eat in or take away. Service from the bubbly Dawn made our visit extra special.

This is a great place for your casual day and night with friends and family, would recommend it highly.

We called in here for a quick snack whilst we wandered around the town. We had tea and an Americano with bronuts. Very tasty and a perfect treat. Staff friendly and appeared very busy.

Called in for a couple of "Traditional" Cornish pasties to take out (yes I know, a long way from Cornwall, and maybe that was the problem.) They were expensive at £4+ each but in fairness the price was clearly displayed, so entirely my choice. That said, and for that price I was expecting them to be very good; they weren't. Pastry was heavy and tasteless and the filling was undercooked and bland. I've had much better for half the price. Life in a tourist town I suppose.

Though I live in Cornwall, don't have one near enough to us, so only get to visit a branch when in St. Ives on holiday every year. That then requires a daily visit for Cornish Pudding for my husband, who is obsessed. This year also discovered the farmhouse sausge roll, which also got a big thumbs up.

We were really pleased to find a Cornish Bakery in Ambleside as they are a favourite of ours when we are staying in Cornwall and Devon. We were really lucky to get the only table in the window and the scones and lattes were the usual good value and quality we expect from CB. I wanted to say a special thank you to lovely Dawn who served us and every customer with a smile and friendly word, her customer service is second to none, thank you Dawn and team for brightening our day.

First class. Croissants worthy of Paris. Pastel de Nata worthy of Lisbon. Honestly, do yourself a favour and go. You'll not be disappointed.

I popped in to buy an Oat milk Latte and was greeted with smile and friendly words. It's lovely to feel welcomed. The latte was delicious too. Thank you very much, to the Ambleside Team!

Delicious pastries, coffee, and the most lovely people. We came back twice during our stay in Ambleside. Highly recommend.
