The best restaurants in Kendal Fell South Lakeland North West

Dog friendly cafe/bar with inside and outside seating and a history of Bonnie Prnce Charlie. Lovely food selection and cake; staff couldn't be more helpful and the birds enjoyed our crumbs! 😋

My husband and I were staying at the nearby county hotel and decided to call in for a coffee on the way into the shopping area. The coffee was great and the millionaires slice was lovely. Service was very good.

There are a few vegetarian options on the menu and all of the pizzas were really nice; they seemed really fresh and homemade, really crispy too. We managed to squeeze in without a booking on a Saturday night since we were eating early but I suspect a booking would be needed generally. The service was good and the prices reasonable.

Comida encantadora! Una muy buena opción en el menú regular, con algunos especiales de temporada muy buenos también. Teníamos la fuente de otoño, fue excelente. . . . pastel de cerdo, jamón asado, queso azul, piccallili casero, chutney, pan. . . . tan sabrosa Terminado con unas galletas de cereza y chocolate blanco, también deliciosas. También tuvimos té de hojas sueltas, de nuevo. . . excelente. El personal y el servicio es excelente. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que visite Kendal.

We have been visiting Kendal for a number of years and wandering around we found this wonderful cafe/coffee house , and what a wonderful place it is. Great service plenty of choice and a coffee that was one of the best we have ever had.

A little gem of a recommendation. We were grateful for the great customer experience, from the fabulous food, through to the welcoming and calm atmosphere. Well worth exploring.

Delicious veggie food and a great Margarita!

The pitmaster platter for 2 was amazing! Large portion size and incredible food. I would compare it to bbq food l've eaten in USA. Served with 3 large size side dishes, pickles and sauces. The restaurant was small but cosy and you can smell the sweet smoke flavour as soon as you walk in. The server was friendly but professional and being from Texas we knew we were in for a treat! Watermelon margarita was delicious, and good selection of beers were on offer. Brisket was smoky and tender, and had a great bark. The smoked sausage was tender and full of flavour. Turkey and pulled pork were very good. The smoked chicken thighs might have stolen the show! I will definitely return to Pappy's BBQ when in the area.

Visited for live music on a Saturday night. The band were blasting out a little too loud but the atmosphere was great and the place was buzzing. Staff very friendly.

We were there last night to have our dinner but the man who called himself manager was so rude and doesn’t have any manner to talk to customers. We We ordered drinks but the way he talked made us leave outside without having any food

Clearly not used a black person walking into this establishment as the first they said was “are you here to pick up for delivery?” Then waited 30 minuets for my food whilst every other person in the shop was served before me? Really? It’s 2024 get a grip!

Bit of a strange place at first but when the band started and people started pouring in the place come alive. Extremely cheap aswell. A must if in Kendal.

Not what I expected. WiFi was only available in the bar area and not at all in the room and the bar area was only available for very limited hours. I'm not the first to write a review complaining about WiFi, but clearly the owners have taken no heed. Hot water was tepid when we arrived mid afternoon. Asked staff about both wifi and hot water, was told that they would check. Didn't happen. While the hotel is well-located, the bed comfortable and the room clean the poor facilities and service leave me no choice but to warn potential guests to think again before booking here

We popped in for our tea after a long walk on our weekend away. We were greeted with friendly staff and were seated fast! The food was lovely, I had a pulled pork burger which I would highly recommend, just what I needed after a tiring day! :) A family member is a coeliac and I always look at menus and this one had lots of options for those that need it!

The food wasn’t up to the mark. The flavours were not really good. It wasn’t as authentic as i was expecting it to be. The service was alright.
