Very nice hotel in a very nice location. It's a while since I stayed there but it was very good. Ideal location for Kendal. Update 2022. Still nice, excellent shower in the room and air conditioning was welcome in the warm weather. Update 2024, still nice rooms, excellent shower, but atrocious WiFi. Premier Inn seem to specialise in providing the worst possible service.

If you were given room 141… run! It stinks of poo. We have asked for another room but were told the hotel was “fullly booked”.

Small car park, the pub adjoining for food and drink doesn't open till 6pm. Arrived around 3pm so rather than hanging around went to a pub up the road. Rooms clean and staff friendly, I would stay here again in the future.

My wife and I frequent the Keswick premier inn often and the staff are happy and accommodating. As we live just outside the Lake District we often attend the premier inn Keswick when family friends stay at the hotel. The staff accommodate us to join them for breakfast as “walk in guests”. We have never had a problem any time we’ve attended. However today 24th October 2024, we attended the Kendal premier inn, after damaging my foot in an accident yesterday. I was on crutches and have a big nhs boot on my foot. We entered the Kendal hotel and was met by the receptionist who declined us the opportunity to purchase a breakfast and told us to go elsewhere. We had specifically travelled to the hotel as we have been before as walk in guests and never encountered a problem. The lady in the desk was abrupt, unsympathetic and offered no alternative. Cannot recomment the hotel because of this. Any customers visiting the Lake District, best to book at the Keswick hotel where the staff are friendlier and more accommodating.

Having previously stayed here I was really disappointed. Not the fault of the staff. They did their best. The problem was that due to being severely understaffed they didn't have time to clean all the rooms. We stayed 3 nights and our room wasn't cleaned once. This meant no fresh bedding, towels or bins emptied. Fortunately there was a supply of tea/coffee etc. in reception. The restaurant was ok, but there were many better places to go for food in the area. Again due to the lack of staff the breakfasts didn't go smoothly. They ran out of clean plates, glasses and tables weren't cleared very quickly. I really hope that they employ more staff for the future.

I've been to many premier inn hotels but this one was by far the best service I've encountered, bar/restaurant was busy and the staff were apologetic for any delays and were still professional even though they were run of there feet. Room and bar were all good but again staff went above and beyond and made it a great experience out of all the premier inns we have been to.

The best Premier Inn in terms of service, location, and cleanliness! Everyone from receptionist to the breakfast server was super polite and helpful! Five stars for everyone!

Hot & stuffy room, 1999 Wifi speeds and some indifferent staff I'm a digital nomad and worldschooling mom. I'm actually a family travel coach and have stayed in many hotels and short stay apartments for most of the past 8 years. The room at this property was very hot and stuffy. Can't open the window at all. Wish there was even a small window at the top to be able to crack open for some air. The AC wasn't working. There was a fan but it was just blowing around warm air. So we propped open the door with a chair until 11pm to get some cooler fresh air. I should have gone to the front desk to inquire but was exhausted due to a busy day and my thyroid condition that makes me very tired in the evening. Didn't feel safe keeping the door open all night due to being female and traveling with my teen daughters. They can usually stand warm temps better than I can but they also were complaining. I put a wet handkerchief on my head and tried to sleep. Awoke at 6am hot and had to open the room door again. Another issue was the pathetically slow wifi. I tested it with speedtest and it was less than 1 mbps. That's 1999 speeds. I've traveled the world and got even 5-10 mbps in rural Peru. 10 to 20 mbps is typically the minimum in most hotels and airbnbs. I have 100 mbps at home in the states. That morning, I talked to the older lady at reception. She said she'd turn the air on for all rooms in the hotel. Why it wasn’t done earlier in the middle of July was baffling to me. Also she gave us a free upgrade for the Ultimate Wifi. When we went out for the day, I talked to a blonde woman in a ponytail and explained the hot room. She had no idea what the older lady was referring to about turning the air on for all rooms. Said that's not possible. I asked if we could change rooms when we returned and she said she’d look into it. When we returned in the late afternoon, the room was again stuffy and hot. Again we had to prop open the door. The “ultimate” wifi was 3 mbps. Still incredibly slow (and laughable) for 2024. The younger gal at reception didn’t get any message from the blonde lady (apparently her manager) about changing rooms for us and none that would sleep 3 were available by that point. Luckily it was a bit cooler that night but still disappointing that we couldn’t get AC. We would have been happy with fresh air pumped into the room. Didn’t need to be cold. Staff just don’t care. We’re traveling around the UK for the whole summer and at times are booking with Premier Inn. I’ll start taking my business elsewhere

Stayed here while on a course for work, my stay all round was very good, the hotel was nice and clean, brilliant size and the bed was comfortable, me and my colleagues ate at the onsite restaurant and I think its fair to say that the waitresses Katlen and Megan went above and beyond to make our experience a pleasant one, really attentive and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean, a fault with the door lock was quickly dealt with by a member of staff. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was good, reasonable portions, but all this was let down by poor management of menu changes due next week. Waitresses were having to apologise for the shortage of choice on the menu due to running stocks of the old menu down. On our last night the choice of desert was a scoop of ice cream or chocolate brownie

Situated at one end of the main street the location is fantastic. Traffic in and out of the area can get quite busy at peak times. The staff in the reception were brilliant. Very friendly, approachable and keen to help and advise. The rooms were classic premier inn, might need a little bit of love here an there. The restaurant attached lets this place down and I'd avoid it. There are plenty of nicer places to eat nearby for similar cost or less with much higher quality foods!

Great location . That’s about all . Bathroom needed a deep clean and the floor in it squeaked very loudly . Fixed window so no ventilation at all . Air con didn’t work . Given a grubby fan that leaned & needed attention . Only other room offered was the same but on another floor ! Checked the next day and still no other room available .Wi Fi unreliable . Noted a comment on reviews that the air con wasn’t working 6 months ago also ! If we hadn’t been meeting up and staying with a group of friends we wouldn’t have continued with our stay .

Short on parking, the restaurant closes at 8.30, rooms are modern and decent like most other PI. Lots of restaurants locally but early in the week close early so takeaway from a local Macdonald's or similar.

This was our first visit to this particular Premier Inn. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Ideally placed for a visit to Kendal and exploring the Lake District. You do have to pay to park & you do this when you leave. We arrived early to ensure a space, let reception know & then went to explore the town. We will definitely stay again.

Rooms were clean and pleasant, catered for a family of 4 well. Staff were really helpful. Breakfast was lovely at the pub next door (linked to the reception by a corridor) our room was over the parking lot from reception which wasn't great when the key card failed and I was in the rain with a 3 year old and car seat. But overall a good stay.

Can't fault for value and location. It's a premier inn, so get what you pay for. We had a premier plus room - stains on floor, mould in shower, cobwebs and dust hanging from bathroom ceiling. £5 parking for 24 hours. Great night sleep, very quiet. Lift could have done with a deep clean, staff were friendly at check in.

If you plan to visit the Lake District, this is an excellent place to stay. The rooms are large, clean, and the bathrooms are well-maintained. The staff is cooperative. The restaurant is also quite great. The only problem I noticed was with parking. It is difficult to get parking in front of the hotel, and there are several council parking lots where you can only park after 6 o'clock.

Great place beautiful location given a disabled room not sure why the only thing that let’s this place down is the staff in the restaurant all very very young girls too interested in their own reflection service is appalling had to go and find someone to get a drink and then again to order food other people coming to the bar to order as table service is non existent shame really.

Had a two stay with wife. Friday and Saturday night at this Hotel. Can not fault it at all. Great comfortable nights sleep. Room comfy and warm despite it being February. A premier breakfast and dinner for two. Perfect for us and nearby Pubs to boot. No more can be asked for. Ample Parking in front of the Hotel and the linked and next door Wakefield Arms for food and drink part of the Hotel.

5 star all the way, perfect for our travelling supporters of 35. Excellent location for town and the pubs, eateries etc, ample parking although we didn’t need it, inside, rooms have recently had a makeover and are superb, staff friendly and courtesy, we stayed for breakfast and had an evening, exactly what you would expect but kids breakfast was free so nice added extra, can’t fault the stay at all, credit to the premier Inn, highly recommended ❤️🖤

Great location. Friendly staff. Renewed my faith in premier inn! The last few Premier Inns have not been v good and the food quite bad. We really enjoyed it here. The restaurant next door is lovely. Breakfast could have been slightly warmer but v nice. We had our evening meal twice and v v nice. The only thing to mention was that the wifi kept dropping out every 20 to 30 mins and had to log in every time. Also the smart tv in the room was not v smart. The channels were v limited and the channel guide did not work. But would stay again.

Tried the drive thru...waited and waited was nobody home?, Was it closed? Reversed out and entered the shop and waited at the counter and waited and waited....3 or 4 staff just chatting away oblivious to customers. 17:00 pm on Saturday. Outstanding service.

We only wanted a coffee and a cake as it was only 11.15 AM but had to queue for 20 minutes behind people ordering hot food and spending ages deciding what they wanted at the last minute Nice stuff but it needs organising a lot better Guess as its volunteer run it depends very much on what the staffing is on the day They need a separate area for those just having coffee etc rather than a meal

Spent £38 on a selection of grub, king prawn chow mein, special fried rice, bean sprouts, chips, 2 cartons of curry and salt & chilly ribs Poor Quality ingredients with no taste across the lot ..... chips white and undercooked, but worst of all the ribs, if they were ribs at all, cooked in batter they are rank!
