My partner and I have just checked out from a 3 nights stay and we had a brilliant stay! The staff were brilliant and the lady who checked us in was very helpful! We tried the breakfast on one of the mornings which was absolutely fine. Our room was spotless on arrival! One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel car park is chargeable we paid about £8 for 24 hours. We were happy to pay this for the convenience although the receptionist did advise us that there was free parking nearby. We chose this location as it is close to the Lake District and everything we needed was just a stone throw away on the high street. Overall we definitely recommend this hotel!

We had a fantastic stay at Premier Inn Kendal! The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful and patient with all our questions—it really made a difference as this was our first trip to the Lake District. We ordered takeaway one night, and they kindly helped us with plates and cutlery, which was much appreciated. The hotel is in a convenient location—just a 10-minute walk from Kendal train station and about 5 minutes from the bus station. From there, you can catch regular buses and reach Bowness in 30–40 minutes. It’s a great option if you can’t find accommodation within the main Lake District towns and are okay with a bit of travel by bus. Also, parking is available for £8 per day if you’re driving in. TVs had Screen mirroring which was absolute helpful with kids can watch what they want. Overall, a comfortable and well-located base for exploring the area!

This is the worst premiere hotel I have ever known, the restaurant and bar didn't open until 6.00pm and then we were told at 9.30pm we are closing, the girls behind the bar where trying but had no training, the girl in charge (red head) was rude and abrupt to quit a few people, the main entrance door was locked to discourage customers coming in, it just seems like we were an inconvenience to be there, a lot of the areas in the restaurant were cordoned off to make it less inviting and the redhead just made us feel as soon as we get out she can put her feet up, Will NOT be staying here again

Spotless, comfortable rooms but service was painful! Some staff were really helpful, including the new trainee who did her best despite having no support from her red headed manager who served with a scowl and sour face the whole time. She was behind the reception desk (not the person serving us) with the same attitude when we arrived. We wouldn't come again.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Premier Inn Central Kendal. From the moment we checked in, everything felt smooth and straightforward. The rooms were surprisingly spacious—much larger than we expected—and spotlessly clean, which made a great first impression. The bed was very comfortable, and the room had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. After a long day out exploring the Lakes or wandering through the town, it was the perfect place to unwind. The location is absolutely spot-on. Being right in the centre of Kendal meant we could easily walk to a range of restaurants, cafés, and shops without needing the car. Everything you might need is just a short stroll away, which made things so convenient, especially in the evenings. There’s a lovely charm to the area, and this hotel is well-placed to enjoy it all. One real bonus was the onsite parking. It’s always a relief not to have to drive around hunting for a parking spot, especially in a town centre. The only minor downside was that the Wi-Fi wasn’t working during our stay. Luckily, I had mobile data, so it didn’t affect us much, but something to keep in mind if you're relying on internet access. Overall, a brilliant base for exploring Kendal and the Lake District. Would happily stay again!

What a nightmare stay there, the toilet seat broken, the bathroom fan didn't work, not air-condition, you couldn't open the windows, no WiFi, probably one of worse place I never stayed in the Premier Inn, we ended to changed room around 10pm with the family in two different room. Some of the staff were great and some of them didn't have a clue what they were doing.

Not what I expected. WiFi was only available in the bar area and not at all in the room and the bar area was only available for very limited hours. I'm not the first to write a review complaining about WiFi, but clearly the owners have taken no heed. Hot water was tepid when we arrived mid afternoon. Asked staff about both wifi and hot water, was told that they would check. Didn't happen. While the hotel is well-located, the bed comfortable and the room clean the poor facilities and service leave me no choice but to warn potential guests to think again before booking here

Incredible value for money when I stayed early February 2025. Julie on reception was fantastic. She had time for a chat which was nice 👍. My room's heating system wasn't working so an oil filled portable was provided which was fine. The extraction fan wasn't working in the bathroom either. Lifts were out of order when I was there. Large car park. £7 for 24 hours payable on departure.

Staying here just now just as a night stop with my young son. Ideally placed central hotel. Rooms are standard Premier Inn which is absolutely fine. Will mention the mixed grill at dinner which was amazing value and the steak was cooked to perfection, exactly like I asked. A special mention for Hazel and Rose in the restaurant. Limited capacity due to refurbishments and they managed to professionally and courteously work through a couple of difficult situations tonight (not with us but I saw it all). All the while keeping the service going with a smile. Great work ladies.

Very nice hotel in a very nice location. It's a while since I stayed there but it was very good. Ideal location for Kendal. Update 2022. Still nice, excellent shower in the room and air conditioning was welcome in the warm weather. Update 2024, still nice rooms, excellent shower, but atrocious WiFi. Premier Inn seem to specialise in providing the worst possible service.

My wife and I frequent the Keswick premier inn often and the staff are happy and accommodating. As we live just outside the Lake District we often attend the premier inn Keswick when family friends stay at the hotel. The staff accommodate us to join them for breakfast as “walk in guests”. We have never had a problem any time we’ve attended. However today 24th October 2024, we attended the Kendal premier inn, after damaging my foot in an accident yesterday. I was on crutches and have a big nhs boot on my foot. We entered the Kendal hotel and was met by the receptionist who declined us the opportunity to purchase a breakfast and told us to go elsewhere. We had specifically travelled to the hotel as we have been before as walk in guests and never encountered a problem. The lady in the desk was abrupt, unsympathetic and offered no alternative. Cannot recomment the hotel because of this. Any customers visiting the Lake District, best to book at the Keswick hotel where the staff are friendlier and more accommodating.

Having previously stayed here I was really disappointed. Not the fault of the staff. They did their best. The problem was that due to being severely understaffed they didn't have time to clean all the rooms. We stayed 3 nights and our room wasn't cleaned once. This meant no fresh bedding, towels or bins emptied. Fortunately there was a supply of tea/coffee etc. in reception. The restaurant was ok, but there were many better places to go for food in the area. Again due to the lack of staff the breakfasts didn't go smoothly. They ran out of clean plates, glasses and tables weren't cleared very quickly. I really hope that they employ more staff for the future.

I've been to many premier inn hotels but this one was by far the best service I've encountered, bar/restaurant was busy and the staff were apologetic for any delays and were still professional even though they were run of there feet. Room and bar were all good but again staff went above and beyond and made it a great experience out of all the premier inns we have been to.

Hot & stuffy room, 1999 Wifi speeds and some indifferent staff I'm a digital nomad and worldschooling mom. I'm actually a family travel coach and have stayed in many hotels and short stay apartments for most of the past 8 years. The room at this property was very hot and stuffy. Can't open the window at all. Wish there was even a small window at the top to be able to crack open for some air. The AC wasn't working. There was a fan but it was just blowing around warm air. So we propped open the door with a chair until 11pm to get some cooler fresh air. I should have gone to the front desk to inquire but was exhausted due to a busy day and my thyroid condition that makes me very tired in the evening. Didn't feel safe keeping the door open all night due to being female and traveling with my teen daughters. They can usually stand warm temps better than I can but they also were complaining. I put a wet handkerchief on my head and tried to sleep. Awoke at 6am hot and had to open the room door again. Another issue was the pathetically slow wifi. I tested it with speedtest and it was less than 1 mbps. That's 1999 speeds. I've traveled the world and got even 5-10 mbps in rural Peru. 10 to 20 mbps is typically the minimum in most hotels and airbnbs. I have 100 mbps at home in the states. That morning, I talked to the older lady at reception. She said she'd turn the air on for all rooms in the hotel. Why it wasn’t done earlier in the middle of July was baffling to me. Also she gave us a free upgrade for the Ultimate Wifi. When we went out for the day, I talked to a blonde woman in a ponytail and explained the hot room. She had no idea what the older lady was referring to about turning the air on for all rooms. Said that's not possible. I asked if we could change rooms when we returned and she said she’d look into it. When we returned in the late afternoon, the room was again stuffy and hot. Again we had to prop open the door. The “ultimate” wifi was 3 mbps. Still incredibly slow (and laughable) for 2024. The younger gal at reception didn’t get any message from the blonde lady (apparently her manager) about changing rooms for us and none that would sleep 3 were available by that point. Luckily it was a bit cooler that night but still disappointing that we couldn’t get AC. We would have been happy with fresh air pumped into the room. Didn’t need to be cold. Staff just don’t care. We’re traveling around the UK for the whole summer and at times are booking with Premier Inn. I’ll start taking my business elsewhere

Stayed here while on a course for work, my stay all round was very good, the hotel was nice and clean, brilliant size and the bed was comfortable, me and my colleagues ate at the onsite restaurant and I think its fair to say that the waitresses Katlen and Megan went above and beyond to make our experience a pleasant one, really attentive and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean, a fault with the door lock was quickly dealt with by a member of staff. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was good, reasonable portions, but all this was let down by poor management of menu changes due next week. Waitresses were having to apologise for the shortage of choice on the menu due to running stocks of the old menu down. On our last night the choice of desert was a scoop of ice cream or chocolate brownie

Situated at one end of the main street the location is fantastic. Traffic in and out of the area can get quite busy at peak times. The staff in the reception were brilliant. Very friendly, approachable and keen to help and advise. The rooms were classic premier inn, might need a little bit of love here an there. The restaurant attached lets this place down and I'd avoid it. There are plenty of nicer places to eat nearby for similar cost or less with much higher quality foods!

Noted a comment on reviews that the air con wasn’t working 6 months ago also ! If we hadn’t been meeting up and staying with a group of friends we wouldn’t have continued with our stay .
