Lovely little pub in a beautiful village. Great selection on the menu and a specials menu to boot! We opted for the 2 course for 16.50. Food was delicious and the service from Kat and David was friendly and efficient. Would recommend without a doubt!

Fabulous family meal for 11 last night. Big selection of Gin - husband loves the peach one & the Aperol Spritz was fab. The food was excellent. Loads of choice on the menu. I had tandoori Chicken bites & Sea Bass - served hot and really tasty. All the family enjoyed their meals. Service was great & the bar team really lovely. Highly recommended for food & drinks. Thanks for a great evening.

Went here for lunch today extremely busy but they found us a table in a few mins ...first thing we noticed the staff never stopped running around and communicated exceptionally well with each other ..we opted for carvery and it was absolutely amazing bit of a delay on dessert but that was completely understandable seeing how busy they were staff litterally did not stop as soon as people left the tables were cleaned and reset absolutely superb defo my go to Sunday roast from now on!!!

Our favourite pub restaurant. Had another great meal this lunchtime. Served by Sophie and Heather, who always look after us well. The place itself has a lovely ambiance and we love to eat and relax here. The food is always excellent and tge staff are great.

Went for breakfast this morning from ordering,to food arriving at the table was 45 mins coffees were Luke warm and sausages, bacon and the rest was absolutely awful I’d like to know who their suppliers are, because they need to up their game. What’s wrong with a quality brand of sausage, bacon was really salty and over cooked beans were cheap and cold toast was like they had made it this morning ie rock hard p.s I’ve no pleasure in writing this but with the price they charge you need to up grade your quality of your products.

If you want the worst service and to spoken down to then this is the place to visit. The worst experience we have ever had by an older ‘lady’ with long blonde hair behind the till. Rude, obnoxious and told us she wouldn't serve us after I challenged on her why she thought it was ok to snap at my husband for daring to ask if they were serving jacket potato’s. “I’ve just told you were are only serving fish and chips. Oh sorry we were abit confused why you had a full menu of different items and were only serving fish and chips on a really busy sunny weekend. Even the man in front of us commented how rude she was by huffing at him for not having any change on him to round up the amount of change she would have to give him back. If you don’t like giving customer service or your job for that matter I suggest you don’t work on the front of house where the first impressions are appalling! Good luck with your business and treating the customer’s like disobedient children.

We visited here about 2 years ago and had a terrible experience! Poor service and the food was even worse!! Then we moved to the area a year ago and came back to be pleasantly surprised nice food, good service. Unfortunately visited another 2 times to be left half an hour without even taking a drinks order then waited about an hour for the food to arrive! A mistake/error? The place was quiet! Offered us 25% discount on our meals that didn’t even cover the extra drink we purchased whilst waiting! Disappointingly poor service! Food was actually quite nice but service is appalling!!

The cafe is clean and the food is ok but the prices are ridiculous. I took my granddaughter for lunch. I ordered a plain cheese toastie for her £8.75, a hot chocolate for her £2.50 and hot chocolate for me £3.50; total £14.75! £8.75 for a very mediocre cheese toastie is ludicrous. It's a cafe, not a restaurant. It's a shame as I often go to the Lake and would frequent the cafe more often if it wasn't so expensive. The prices are not justified by the location. Although it's right by the Lake there are limited views as there are only small windows so unless you are sat right by a window, which is only possible at a couple of tables, the location is of no consequence. An opportunity missed by the local authority, there should have been floor-to-ceiling windows to take advantage of the views.

We had to wait 40 minutes for food to arrive and when did the veg was cold, the beef was really tuff and the chicken chewy. We were asked if we would like a fresh dish of veg and that was was all. there was no sorry or offer of money back. NEVER will visit again
