We visited here about 2 years ago and had a terrible experience! Poor service and the food was even worse!! Then we moved to the area a year ago and came back to be pleasantly surprised nice food, good service. Unfortunately visited another 2 times to be left half an hour without even taking a drinks order then waited about an hour for the food to arrive! A mistake/error? The place was quiet! Offered us 25% discount on our meals that didn’t even cover the extra drink we purchased whilst waiting! Disappointingly poor service! Food was actually quite nice but service is appalling!!

I visited with my wife on 7.7.24 and ordered a caesar salad with warm chicken and bacon. The salad was supposed to include cherry tomatoes, peppers and onions. It had none of these. It was just a huge pile of lettuce with caesar sauce poured over it. My first time there and will never go again.

Staff were friendly but that’s about where the praises end. Food was terrible. Served on white plates which just screams cheap and tacky. Ordered the mixed grill and asked for the steak medium rare, it came overdone and all the other meat was of extremely poor quality. Allegedly they use a local butcher, I beg to differ. Don’t bother, Wetherspoons quality but extortionate prices.

The worst Sunday roast I have ever had didn't try to finish it, the Yorkshire was burnt almost black, potatoes hard and stale, vegetables overcooked and watery. Fish and chips all batter and also burnt almost black. Two basic meals both terrible, good job the staff are good as the food certainly isn't. Won't go again.

After arriving I went inside to tell the staff we would be sat outside. A staff member said they’d send someone out to get our drinks order. We waited half an hour and no one came so I went to the bar to get them myself. 4 staff stood around the bar yet I had to get their attention so I could get served. Went back in 20 mins later to ask if i could order food as none of the staff had come outside to take our order. They are all young and were just messing around behind the bar. Finally someone came to take our order 20 mins after I’d asked if we could order food - bearing in mind the place was dead - the staff just seem like they can’t be bothered doing their jobs! This place has really gone downhill!

Used to visit here a few times a week but recently gone awful. Not only have they had a massive turnover of staff but the owner is never around anymore! Bar closes at random times and always inconsistent. A lot of the staff who work there are kids and some constantly having breakdowns. Really thought it had been saved but once again it’s nearly time to shut up for good. Gave it a try today, food was ok, drinks overpriced and told the bar was closing at 9pm! What a way to run business eh

Terrible attitude of what I believe was the manager. I was supporting 2 vulnerable people and needed receipts for each for proof of what we spent, I requested this on arrival but was told in No uncertain terms I could not have a separate receipt for either of my ladies and he refused to write them out with minimal info, receipts are required to protect vulnerable people in society.

We ate here Thursday tea time. 2 x scampi & chips, that should be a safe bet we thought. Hmmm, not that safe because the chips were very poor. Some were so overdone they were inedible. It's basic stuff, most pub food meals are served with chips so the cooks should be well practiced at producing good examples. The scampi was fine. The staff were very nice, helpful & efficient. We'll stick to drinks only in future. It's a shame really as Kirkham lacks anywhere that serves decent pub grub.

Called in the kingfisher today, as we had been out and were famished. On walking in the first impression was spotlessly clean and really modern. We were seated and given a menu by a nice member of staff. Two of us ordered Sunday roast one ordered scampi and one the burger. The staff were nice the setting is nice, then your food arrives. First we had to ask for some more gravy because there was so little on the meal you couldn't see it. Then we were amazed by the lack of Turkey on our turkey dinner. Two very small round pieces. The Yorkshire pudding was a flat deep fried disc that was so greasy. and the mash was instant. The peas that came with the scampi were in a small ramekin and were half full of water. We amazed ourselves with how typically British we were when the staff came and asked is everything all right that we said yes thank you. When in fact no it is bloody greasy the gravy is like water and were is the turkey is what we really wanted to say. We won't be going back. If you are in the area of The Kingfisher don't go in, there are lots of places to eat within a couple of minutes drive.

After looking around at what was on offer elsewhere we decided to book The Kingfisher for our Ladies Christmas Lunch. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent and attentive without being overly so. The food was delicious and plentiful. The courses were brought when we were ready and not when the staff thought we should be ready. The hot dishes were lovely and hot and the cold ones were cold and served on cold plates not always the case elsewhere. We all had the turkey dinner as a main and we all would highly recommend it to others. Between us we had all the desserts apart from the cheesecake and again would happily recommend our choices. In the starters the soup was very hearty and warming and delicious and the prawn and crayfish tail cocktail was extremely good. We as a group will definitely be visiting again and it won't take us 'til next Christmas to do so, On a final note the options for those who need a gluten free diet were excellent as almost the whole Christmas Fayre menu is gluten free. Access for those with mobility problems is also excellent as most areas are on one level with disabled spaces in the car park too. The staff who waited on were so nice and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to all who made our visit such a pleasant experience.

It had been advertised in the Kirkham Advertiser as under new management so we thought we'd try again. HUGE MISTAKE. Served a flat pint which went straight back, Were told dishes were 'off'' the menu after we tried to order them. Attitude and customer service of staff was far below that of your worst hospitality experience. Some 'hotshot up his own backside waiter' tried to tell us that all was new and good and we must move on and treat this as a new experience. Today a group of 29 bell ringers had lunch here at The Kingfisher. The service we received from Simon and his team was exceptional.

We called in passing not knowing the area at all. The Kingfisher is clean bright with friendly staff. We orderd from the specials menu, lamb shank which arrived in good time with veg and a mash. Now I could go on to say the veg were roasted to death and the lamb was a bit tough even though it was ment to be slow roasted a falling of the bone. This aside its just pub grub or do we expect more nowadays for our money which by the way was nearly £40 for 2 with 2 soft drinks. Would I eat there again probably if I was hungry and passing and didn't know the area!!

went for a drink the other day. Hardly anyone in, less than 10, waited st bar for a good 5 minute, as the bar person was serving a table with drinks. Then a guy appeared from what I guess is the cellar, most miserable person I have ever seen, obviously didn't want to be there. Reviews of the Kingfisher says the staff are friendly and efficient, if that''s the case a wake with very few people may suit better.

Visited Kingfisher for evening meal. Have visited this pub before. My wife ordered fish & chips. Fish definitely not fresh and oven chips were a mixture of soft & hard variety. I ordered a tower burger. Very ordinary but couldn't finish as burger was quite bloody towards the centre.

My family and I went for a meal here and we sat outside as we took the dog.My mum and I ordered the steak baguette at £10 each.I thought this was quite pricey for a steak baguette but thought you must get a lot.Well I was very wrong. We got 4 tiny pieces on a baguette and I mean tiny. Was so disappointed in the meal left most of it.Even the dog didn’t seem keen.My partner had a pizza that just didn’t look much and was tasteless. The children had pizza at £5 but can’t really go wrong with a microwave pizza. What was even worse that put us all off our meals. The waitress who was bringing the food out decided to tell us that she was feeling really unwell and kept telling us that while breathing all over are food. Then when put food down started stroking dog and standing there for ages.Just not good service at all.So so disappointed in this place.

We’ve only been a couple of times this year. It’s a nice little pud/restaurant. A little more expensive, they don’t do offers etc like a lot of places. My partner says they do the best burgers so it’s worth the extra money. They have a little outside play area, an outside seating area and plenty of parking

We visited twice last week on a trip to the area. The first visit was ok, although the "hot steak baguette" had cold, greasy and chewy bits of steak which one of our party couldnt eat. The other 3 meals were fine.

Called in here after a walk with the dog. Staff were lovely and friendly bought a bowl of water for the dog, ordered ofnthe main menu. 2 meals for £14. We was wary after reading some of the negative reviews. I ordered the steak and gravy pie with chips and i can safely say it was fantastic, my partner ordered the gammon and chips, portion size was very good.

Looked online to check opening times before going and all said open at 09:00. Arrived at the cafe just after 9 and door was locked with a closed sign on it. Waited a few minutes as thought they were running a bit late for opening which was OK. My partner then asked through the open window around the side what time they were open and he got the reply '9 O'clock' 'Oh it's seven minutes past now' was my partners reply to the person who had replied, who didn't respond further. We waited a few more minutes until someone unlocked the front door and turned the sign around from closed to open then just let the door slam shut. No communication or apology from this member of staff for not opening on time, which we both thought was very rude and didn't make us feel like we wanted to part with our money to a place whose employees obviously weren't bothered. We decided to take our custom to Toby carvery for one of their buffet breakfasts which is only 5 minutes away. We then came back to the lake for a walk around and had a lovely drink from the RSPB visitor centre and a lovely chat with the staff there.

Had a fabulous lunch here on a quiet Monday. Took my dog who was spoiled rotten by the staff. Had a beautifully cooked seabass and my friend opted for a steak sandwich which she said was perfect. Pub has very nice decor with a lovely outside area overlooking the village green. Will definitely be back
