Bought the 3 starter options for £15.65, I believe was the price and added salt and pepper chips and onion rings. Absolutely awful, clearly some microwaved and “overly” cooked. Lamb kebabs arrived looking like a dog chew. Onion rings and salt and pepper chips tasted of oil, that needed changing. Nobody came to see if we were satisfied. Left feeling completely let down and wasted in total £30. Plus.

Called in on a sunny Tuesday afternoon by chance and found a nice table. The menu is well put together with some good offers, we shared three small plates and some fries together with some nice wines by the glass the service is very good and the decor is lovely , the only criticism is the loud music and the choice of music isn’t great and not very welcoming with a more sedate background music it would be perfect, although we will definitely visit again.

My husband and I called here for a carvery. It was delicious, everything cooked to perfection and the young lad serving (I forgot his name, but he was very young) was lovely, chatty and helpful. After lunch my husband was so amazed with your icecreams, he had 3 different flavours, he thoroughly enjoyed it. I was too full after lunch, but was so tempted to have a piece of cake. I opted for the school cake, which they put in a takeaway box for me to eat in my hotel later. It tasted lovely. All of the staff were happy, helpful and polite, especially the deputy manager Lee, he's such a nice lad and went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay there, he was exceptional. We will be back next time we're in Blackpool.

We all had the Sunday Carvery. Every single one of us could not believe how small the scraps of meat we were given. It is carved wafer thin so falls apart into bits, and then it is put onto your plate. We have never had such a small amount of meat served at any Carvery we have visited, locally or further afield. Very disappointed.

I don’t often right reviews or complain about food - but have this time. I had a Halloumi Burger the quality of the food was poor. So much so I took it back. The staff member I spoke to was not at all sympathetic or understanding of what high quality vegetarian food could be like. The actual manager did come however apologised and gave me a full refund. I was offered something else but I decided not too. It was supposed to be a Halloumi Burger with Avocado. It reminded of vegetarian food from about twenty years ago when people had the excuse not to really understand what it can be like. I was visiting my brother- first time he had been out during his chemotherapy treatment- so it was a disappointing experience to what should have been a good family get together. Needless to say I shall not be visiting again or recommend it to anyone. Best part of £14, not worth half of that.

Went last night, 17 July, what’s happened to the carvery, meat was beautiful sorry to say the rest wasn’t. It was 6pm when we went, the vegetables were in a sorry state, a massive pan of round carrots, few green beans corn very little leeks, and sprouts, the roast potatoes were hard and not roasted enough. Very disappointed.

Waited at desk for 5 minutes, had to get someone's attention. After being seated again waited for order to be taken, again had to get someone's attention, they were taking an order from someone who came in after we did. Service was very bad. Food was not good as we had the carvery and was worst food in any pub I had been in. We watched them plate up food and had no gloves on touching the food and also saw them touching there faces then touching the food, hygiene was not a strong point that they had. Waited waited waited to pay, could have walked out without paying as no one was paying attention. Got up to pay then there was attention. Another family were outside and they were complaining about the service and bad food too.

I'd like to start this review by saying it won't stop us returning again as I will take it was just a bad night for them. We called in after making a reservation and once again the staff were brilliant, it's a friendly pub with usually great food. We were left disappointed!! we ordered the cheese and onion pie which was undercooked and the hoisin duck pizza which didn't have any hoisin sauce on it. It was dry and lacked taste apart from the heat that the chillies gave, the chips were undercooked and It was basically not a great dish. I would like to point out that we visited last week with all the family and I have to say that this place offers the greatest kids menu for the quality and quantity on the Fylde coast so I will take this experience as just a one off. We didn't complain to the manager on the night cause I was starving so I did eat it however I had to order for the pizza a side of barbecue sauce just to add a little bit of flavour to it because the pizza was basically just some shredded duck a little bit of cheese and some Spring onion and cucumber. Not a great experience so hopefully it will improve on our next visit.

I'm sick of reading long winded reviews due to potatoes not being up to scratch. Its already reduced in price due to the government deal but a few crazy people who think they can try it on to get a free carvery is appalling. The last 2 occasions I have opted for the Carvary , the roast potatoes were possibly pre heated ( hard ) to say the least inedible anyway . The restaurant on both occasions was busy , being professional I decided not to complain . At this juncture it’s worth mentioning I eat & drink in the pub on a regular basis . Tonight the restaurant was quiet the manager was free & I mentioned my issue to him . The manager informed me the company had changed there potato supplier and this accounted for the pre heated warmed up after the event potatoes . I also mentioned the issue to another manager a lady who failed to comment . It was quite simple my complaint was valid & I should have been satisfied with a credible response or compensated for the bad experience not to mention the insult to my intelligence. The gentleman who stated he was the manager , when I mentioned the complaint again he stated “what do you want me to do , I said have a think .I left the premises after waiting 15 minutes for a response. I know the Joseph Holts estate very well there a class act . The management in this instance did not subscribe to there good NAME . I will continue to use the pub because of the quality of ale however the Holts family owned brewery is now attracting a different target group sophisticated diners & perhaps need to up the game plan where there managers are concerned. The most sensible thing would have to have been to simply provide me with a small plate carvery ticket on the house that would have done the trick at a cost of a £1 to the management. This would have prevented me writing this long winded review . Will the manager respond ??? Bad business practice .

Four of us came for lunch mid week and 3 of us had the carvery. Due to COVID-19, the chef carving the meat was also serving the veg. This wasn’t a problem for us as the place was very quiet, but could mean queueing is an issue at busy times. The portion of meat was fairly meagre and the veg was all well overcooked despite us being the first customers of the day. Chipolatas and cauli cheese are not part of the carvery deal and have to be paid for separately if required. At 7.95 for a regular sized plate, I suppose it’s a case of “you get what you pay for”. I certainly won’t be rushing back.

We came for a midweek dinner and were really glad to get a table as they had been quite busy. There is a full menu available, even carvery. I chose the Gammon egg and chips which was lovely and others in the party had the burger and the chicken pie, which also looked delicious. There was hand sanitiser available and loads of spacing, so we felt safe. The waiting staff are very welcoming and friendly, masks worn and lots of processes in evidence. Drinks and meals were reasonably priced. A lovely bright modern pub for meals and drinks, and one of my favourites for lunch locally.

Visited 3 times during our week stay in Blackpool, 2 mid-week and 1 Friday.Called in to book a table, managed to fulfil our table request due to disabled guest, infact we were given a table for 8 when there was only 2 of us. Hand sanitiser and tracking app at the door. Good social distancing throughout, tables spaced out & some not in use. Markings on the floor at the bar & carvary. Option to order from the table but it wasn't working on our visits.Mid-week we both had Wexford chicken, 2 meals for £13. It arrived promptly and was hot. There was plenty on it and we both enjoyed it that much that we also had it on our second visit. On the Friday evening we had the carvary, it was nice but could have done with the veg being a little hotter.Overall, good pub grub, attentive & pleasant staff, and good social distancing. My only slight moan was the people congregating directly outside the door smoking, swearing and not keeping to social distancing (Friday evening).

This place is your typical pub grub food arrived very quickly and was hot enough, a little concerned at the cleanliness however as the tables we were shown too were still a tad sticky from the previous occupants (should not be happening in the current pandemic) The staff are mainly young lads and lasses who I assume work here part time around college, they have very little interest and just don’t understand the first thing about customer service. However all in all we wanted something quick and easy and this was ideal for that! If your expecting anything more or a real tasty meal then I wouldn’t of thought this is for you. If you want cheap cheerful and edible then it’s well worth a shot.

I had the carvery with lovely juicy turkey and vegetables and the others had the pie and a curry dish. All were wonderful. We also had the sharing combo as a starter which was very tasty and for desserts we had chocolate fudge cake, crumble and an ice cream sundae, all of which were delicious. As a treat this evening I took my daughter and grandson for dinner this evening. We arrived just before 6pm. On entry the sign tells you to wait to be seated. Nobody came so we choose our own table. We looked at the menu, still nobody come ever to see us. We had been before so we knew what to do to order etc. I went over to order and was met by a very unhappy looking girl who took our order. No smile just a comment ' the drinks will be brought over ' My daughter and I choose the standard carver. My grandson had the burger from the menu. This was very tasty and the meal was good. However the carvery was very disappointing. We were served by a very pleasant chef. He was very chatty and asked us to write a review on TripAdvisor because they need to raise the ratings. Unfortunately the only good thing about the meal was the meat. We both had a slice of each meat. All very tender and delicious. Unfortunately the rest of the food was of a poor standard. Mash potatoes like glue. Roast potatoes hard dry and hot very warm. The veg selection was very poor and lukewarm. It was very disappointing. Kids were left to run around the area of the carvery and adult sitting area too. I understand this can be difficult for staff to deal with. The only good thing was the cake desserts which we choose to takeaway. The Watersedge was always a favourite of the family. Unfortunately we will not be back. There is plenty of choice in the area to go to and come away happy.

I was disappointed with the offering of vegetables, as there were no green vegetables at all. The carrots weren't al denté, they were rock hard, as too were the insides of the roast potatoes. The food including the gravy was luke warm, and needed to be much hotter. It was a pleasant place, but if you're serving a carvery, the food needs to be hot, and green veg is a basic.

Me and my husband visited this restaurant on Sunday 19th January. Having been to this restaurant on more than one occasion our expectation from our last visit was no different to this, how wrong we where!!! I ordered the carvery and my husband ordered the 10oz gammon. The 1st gammon arrived under cooked and the chips where not cooked through properly, the manageress came over to our table and my husband explained what was wrong with the meal. She said she would get the kitchen to cook another one. She returned minutes after to say it would be at least 10 minutes to cook another one and rather than me eat in my own would I like to get my carvery again once my husband had his meal ( nice gesture) so that was exactly what happened. The second piece of gammon arrived, bearing in mind this was a 10oz piece of gammon there was 6oz of fat around the gammon and 4oz of still not cooked enough gammon!!! Putting the full meal to one side the manageress eventually can back to the table and said to my husband do you not like it? My husband explained that this piece of gammon was no better than the first, the manageress went on to ask my husband if he would like a carvery? No thanks. When we where ready to go the manageress came to clear the plates of which I then asked for the money back for the gammon meal of which had not been touched, her attitude was beyond aloof no apologies where ever given at any point of our complaint and when the money got brought to our table by her it was just put on the table with her saying there you go with still no apology. How bad, working in customer service my self you go over and above to make the customer’s visit or complaint rectified and that they visit your business again. I’m sorry on this occasion you failed on both points, as customers we where made to feel as we where the problem, when the food and very poor service was actually the biggest problem on this visit. DISAPPOINTED

Went specifically for a carvery (have been quite a few times before) and it was worse than poor. Had to wait to be served at the carvery whilst the staff finished their conversation and checking their mobile phones. Cold food, bone dry roasted meats cut that thin you could almost see the plate through each of the 2 small slices, soggy Yorkshire puds, dry vegetables, deep fried 'roast' potatoes and deep fried 'roast' parsnips, and cold gloopy gravy. The carrots and sprouts were lovely and that's the only positive thing i can say about my visit. No decaf coffee, no skimmed milk, had tea instead which came in a grease covered teapot, plates were never cleared away, they were still on the table long after we had finished eating, and were still there after we had finished our drinks and left. I washed our cutlery in the ladies loo as there was no one to ask for clean cutlery. Just because it was a quiet time of day, the food and service should be of an acceptable standard for all customers regardless.

Have been going to Water's Edge since it opened. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the staff very friendly. Always greeted personally by Sarah the waitress who lokks after us making sure we find a table even when busy. Don't be put off by the others reviews the food is always good. I've never had a disappointing meal yet. Do miss the 2for1s though.

Since this place opened the standard of food served has continued to fall. After giving the place a miss for a while I thought let’s give it one more chance....what a mistake. The fillet steak skewer was 3 pieces of rough beef with a cardboard like pitta bread. The salad looked and tasted old and the chips were undercooked. The carvery wasn’t much better....over half of it was left on the plate. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

We visit regularly on a Saturday evening and always have a decent meal. Staff are friendly. Food orders are taken efficiently. Very child friendly. Seats of chairs are overdue a clean/makeover.

The food was hugely disappointing in both quality and value, and I think some of the staff just did not want to be there (neither did I by the end of my visit).

Lovely food. Efficient service. Would definitely go again. £9-12 for most of the main courses. Kids menu available. Bit of small print for some of the meal offers about when they are on (specific times and days of week only). The bar had run out of Diet Coke on draught and were offering bottles or Coke Zero instead.

The wife and I visited the special Carvery featured on a Monday Night with the terrific value of two for £13 which is a really fantastic offer?? We had a large dinner plate with an ample portion of the three meats that we both chose and a very wide selection of Veges fresh and piping hot all served proffesionaly by the guy on the serving counter. We would Also like to say a very good word in regards to two young ladies who not only took our booking but also brought the drinks that we ordered from the bar to our selected table?? Both of these two employees of the company went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our visit?? Asked for their names which were Ebony and Sarah and would say that these two off what we experienced are a valuable asset to your Company.

We was recommended the pizza menu by a lady called ebony, she was lovely as polite! She is the first to help us as soon as we walk in, she even noticed our drinks were empty whilst we was eating and happily asked us if we wanted more, what a lovely pleasure to the team she is!! Well done

We went here to meet friends and had small children in tow. I had pizza and my husband and son had sausages and mash. Portion sizes were generous. Food was good. Unfortunately we were all too full to sample to delicious looking ice cream and cake. Had a kids play corner which was ideal

Returned to the waters edge after 6 months, and once again breakfast was great. Lovely cooked food, great staff, reasonable prices. This place is ab open setting restaurant idea for small and large groups alike. Streamed music not to loud, brilliant

7 adults went on a Tuesday night . 3 had burgers which were ok but much more expensive than other similar places nearby. 4 of us had the carvery and wished we hadn’t! The selection was very limited to gammon or an extremely small dried up bit of beef . No white meat at all . The vegetables were over cooked and soggy and again not much variety. All our carvery meals were lukewarm and virtually tasteless. The only bitter beer was “American IPA” which my husband said was undrinkable . 7 people won’t be returning!

Mum & I went for the Sunday carvery & the food certainly did not disappoint us. Everything was so tasty & best of all it was hot. There was a lot of the waitresses (5+) congregating around the cake server & food tills, doing nothing more than messing about & talking to each other. I was stood at the empty food till waiting to order the food for 6 minutes & 10 seconds before one of them decided to serve me despite all of them being only approx 2 metres away from me. I am sorry but when you have dirty tables waiting to be cleaned & reset staff should not be 'chilling'. I had to ask for our table to be cleaned as it was filthy. There were other empty tables but these too were not wiped down & reset. Management need to clamp down on the young female staff there as they tend to let the young guys do all the work.

I needed to book a room last minute for my son’s partner, baby and friend after their partners were involved in a serious motorcycle accident. Even though it was late evening JayPal sorted out a cot for the baby and was very helpful. My son’s partner said everything was fine at the hotel, room breakfast, service etc. Can’t comment on it’s suitability, location, etc for a holiday as they just needed somewhere to stay overnight near to Kings College Hospital

Belting pub in a good location. Table service was excellent. Staff was professional and dressed smart. The food was both hot and freshly made. The site was clean and free from empty plates and cutlery. It's wheelchair friendly both for the tables and toilets. Parking is a bit restricted . There's a car park opposite the site council run..
