Miss more than hit sadly, sometimes you can go and the food is good but tonight it was mediocre. One Sunday roast was quite cold like it had been put out some time before the others, veg too al dente and Yorkshire puddings are not the best. But the worst thing was the apple crumble, it was very greasy and the crumble was very hard and not enjoyable at all. We tried here again after there isn’t much choice locally now, but we won’t be rushing back.

I needed to book a room last minute for my son’s partner, baby and friend after their partners were involved in a serious motorcycle accident. Even though it was late evening JayPal sorted out a cot for the baby and was very helpful. My son’s partner said everything was fine at the hotel, room breakfast, service etc. Can’t comment on it’s suitability, location, etc for a holiday as they just needed somewhere to stay overnight near to Kings College Hospital

Used to love chilli hut, ordered tonight for first time in a while, absolutely disgusting. Pizza base was awful, partners food was also disgusting, got the order wrong. Then checked online to see the company dissolved in Feb 22 and these guys are still trading under the same name, disgusting food will not be going again.

We very much like this cafe and most of the staff are lovely. But the cafe needs upgrading especially as there are so many new cafes in town. Because it's used a lot the interior is tired and the windows need cleaning inside and out. Want to stay loyal to the café but there is a lot of competition in St Anne's.

We have eaten at Whelan’s for many years and always tell friends and family to try it, as we have never had a bad meal there yet. Today as we were queuing for our fish and chips, a lady came in and said she found a large black hair in her rock hard chips that even her hungry kids had refused to eat them. I thought you always get one that wants to complain, but when ours came we took them outside as we always do . The chips were well under done and rock hard, and the fish was well under done and anaemic with no batter on at all. I went back and told them that the standards have dropped dramatically. and he offered to make me some more. It put us off and probably won’t go back.

We visited on a Saturday morning, early on at 9:30-10 am. We sat down and a waitress came over with menus. After a short wait, our drink and food order was taken by the most miserable server I think I have ever encountered. No smiles, no politeness, nothing. I began to notice around me that people seem to be waiting quite a long time for food. Our drinks took at least 20 minutes to arrive. At least another 20-30 minutes for the food to arrive in fact we had finished our drinks by the time the food was dumped on the table. The bacon, with my “American Pancakes” (though nice were the smallest American pancakes I had ever seen. More like scotch pancakes!) was cremated. You couldn’t even break it in half. This was not well done American streaky bacon, crispy and salty. This was bog standard back bacon cremated to oblivion. I advised once the plate had been served that I would not be eating the bacon. I was offered replacement. no apology, nothing. I accepted the offer. My husband at this point asked for butter for his toast. No problem yes I will get you some butter. … We finished our meal, still no butter and no replacement bacon. Three other people had begun to complain about their food in surrounding tables. On clearing our plates it was pointed out that we were still waiting for the items and declined to pay for a dish that the main item was inedible. This was knocked off the bill but this could have easily been resolved with a bit of good old fashioned customer service and a simple apology. Something that seems to be seriously lacking. . £17 for a poor breakfast and two drinks, is on the steep side.
