Fish and chips today at the cafe. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff and fabulous location. Surpassed only by the fish and chips. Best fish we have eaten on on the Fylde coast in a long, long time. Silverfish. A local supplier in Blackpool. Amazing quality fish!

This is a great place for access to the beach and easy parking. Lots of outside tables. However, the food we had was awful. A cheese toastie which contained a thick slab of what looked like melted plastic was very oily and tasteless. The bread was barely toasted; possibly microwaved. The children’s chicken skewer was very gristly and the rice was cold.

Awful! So so greasy and disgusting. We had 2 veggie sausage baps with chips. Chips tasted like they had been cooked in Crisp and Dry. Took us all day to try and get the taste out of our mouths. No idea how this place is so busy. Greasy cafe. Will NEVER return.

Popped in on a sunny Monday morning around 10am , quite busy. Just a cuppa and a toasted tea cake with my dogs who got some shade under bench.£5 which I thought was very good value as lots of tea in pot plus hot water to refill. Tea cake was well done as I requested and came ready buttered which I much prefer to those sachets of butter. Left a tip as staff were lovely and they have lots of dog bowls and a tap you can get fresh water from for pets . Recommend

Not what it used to be. Still busy, but the quality on the menu has dipped. Sandwiches with not so much filling, and none now on display. Fish and chips are popular as, it seemed, double egg and chips. Extensive terrace outside with ice creams. Reserved parking for customers in the public car park. Just a few steps away from the beach.

Went for my 80th birthday lunch. Only found the place by accident but glad we did. The food was excellent. My wife, who is usually a very picky eater, ate every bit of her scampi and said it was the best she had ever tasted. My haddock was excellent. We ended with two of the biggest ice-cream cones I have ever seen. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the place was spotless.

We took a nice day out to Lytham on the first May Bank Holiday and had a pleasant stroll along the front. We stopped here for a bite to eat and a drink before heading off back home. The weather forecast was sunny all day - which it was - and therefore the owners of this establishment should have had enough staff laid on to accommodate it's clientele. Unfortunately that was not the case with two young ladies rushed off their feet trying to serve everyone and a young lad at the ice cream parlour. The queue when we got there was around 20 people long and it took 20 minutes to get served, and after getting served the queue was still 20 people long behind me. The way in which they operate does not give the poor ladies a chance to cope. They take your order which they give to the kitchen but then start to make your drinks. Therefore no one is being served whilst they do this! There should of been an extra member of staff they gave the drinks order to who then did this whilst the ladies carried on serving...this would have been much more efficient. The prices here are very expensive for what it is, after all it's only a cafe and their prices matched that of a pub restaurant. The food was served quite quickly and was piping hot and very good quality. My grilled chicken burger with chips at £10.95 was an average price, but my partner's fish finger butty at £8.25 was expensive given it didn't come with anything else either. The drinks are even more expensive as paying £7.30 for two hot drinks is not good value at all. Overall it was a decent experience with the waiting time and prices not dampening our day. However, the service needs to improve, the prices need reducing on some dishes and drinks and the tables need to be cleared much quicker as the birds can been seen swooping down on the food left by customers who have left. One final point. There are signs not to feed the birds but can I also say that additional signs of owners not being allowed to let their dogs sit on the seating or tables where people have to eat. Unfortunately we witnessed this which is unacceptable mainly by the dog owners rather than the cafe owners. By the way, we are also a dog owner so it's nothing against them!

On the sand dunes, easy access car park, dog friendly, classic cafe food in the sun. I had tuna salad which was huge side of chips. We ordered cheese burger and chips reasonably priced, very good food. They serve beer too. Plenty of choice. We sat outside with dog really comfortable. All dogs were on leads. No trouble at all. Great place that i have visited many times over the years and it hasn’t changed one bit. Still has the original charm and character . The ice cream was delicious too. Love it. I like it when cafés give you your pot of tea to start and remember to give you hot water so you can make the most of the pot, and they do that here. The service was friendly and the breakfast arrived quickly as it wasn't busy. Really satisfied with what we chose to eat from the good selection for a veggie and a non-veggie. This cafe is in a superb position. There are young front of house staff who are friendly & efficient but there are two older blonde women behind the counter who are anything but. The older lady who has been there years can barely look at you let alone smile when she takes your order at the counter. The slightly younger woman is flippant and dismissive. I have been a customer for many years and taken friends & family for refreshments They have all commented on the miserable women being the counter.Let me give an example :At 1010am this morning I went with a friend for breakfast. When we arrived we walked into an empty cafe no other customers. The two said women were behind the counter talking to each other and a couple of younger staff. At first my friend and I wondered if it wasn't open & it was some kind of staff meeting. They ignored us completely as I tried to get their attention. So I called out ' excuse me are you open yet ?' As usual the older lady gave me a filthy look & the slightly younger lady sarcastically answered ' Yes as it says on the door !' I walked back to the door...there was no open sign present but the door was open.......She then passed a comment under her breath which I couldn't hear. My friend said pardon. She didn't answer and both continued to glare. At which point I beckoned one of the young staff on my side of the counter & said to her to inform the blonde ladies that we had come for coffee & breakfast however due to the unacceptable rudeness we would go somewhere else. The food is good quality thanks to the excellent chef. But these women spoil the experience & need to leave & find a job where they don't have contact with the public!!

She was not friendly with me while I was ordering food. Made me feel like we were not good enough to be there. We spent over 30 pounds on couple sandwiches, standard breakfast and few bottles of drinks. The sausage was very cheap and sandwich filling rather tasteless.I'm sure this review will not damage her custom due to where the cafe is, but it would be nice to be made to feel welcome when you are spending money there and not causing any problems.

Took family for first time since Covid. Their organisation is shambolic and the prices extortionate for what you get. No person taking responsibility for long queue outside. We were able to sit at a table outside no problem but staff not allowed to take orders, we had then join a noncovid distanced queue to be allowed to enter to order, ended up in queue for 45 min whilst no staff took responsibility for allowing people in. The few inside waiting to order were then shouted at move back by staff all stood together non were wearing masks one person then takes drink order only and serves it then you have to wait for a lady who quite rudely takes your food order, 4 staff stood at serving counter. In spite of being shouted at to keep distanced we are then forced to exit through a non distanced large queue waiting to enter. There are at least 2 other places you could exit safely, I asked the girl who demanded we all move even though she was stood in a group of staff why we had to push our way through the queue whilst balancing our drinks for her to answer that they were distanced out side which was ludicrous in the extreme, she was clearly disinterested. The prices were ludicrous over £5 for a childs 3 small bits of chicken 10 chips small tub of beans, tea and coffee were dreadful. My wife went to the toilet where a sign said one person at a time 3 other women pushed in non wearing masks. Absolutely no Covid safety, again cafe not seeming to care. If you want to remain safe and save money on poor food and drink DO NOT go to this cafe. WE will never go again. The authorities should be checking their procedures.

We heard that this was an award-winning café so thought we'd try it - never again. I understand that Covid has made some challenges, but my criticisms are nothing to do with that. £2.95 for a Flat White and £2.60 for a small Latte is more than I've paid anywhere in the UK, especially when the Flat White (supposed to be stronger) was very weak, and the Latte was scalding hot (my wife burnt her tongue). If you want a coffee with a sea view, buy a takeaway and find one of the may benches on the prom.

Came here with the family at the end of a long hot day at the beach wanting some ice cream, they had a nice amount of choice for what you can pick and even eco "bowls" which are made out of waffle cone so you can eat them up if you order 2 scoops of anything/mix and match, however, the thing that really lets this place down is the price, just extortionate prices for what your getting, almost 3 pounds for one ice lolly, would not recommend for the price even though the staff were lovely and the place seems nice just seems like such a cash grab.

However, we visited yesterday and found the service and the food below par. Un interested staff did not help and if they perform like this they will see their clientele go elsewhere. Come on Beach Terrace, sort your customer service out and improve the quality of the food you serve, £18 for 2 meals and 2 drinks we expect better. My Wife and I went for lunch, Wednesday 28 October. We have been here before but this was our first visit post Covid. Measures taken were generally very good, however there is a problem queueing outside, whilst the Cafe have signed where to queue, which doors are in, which are out etc which is admirable, the only problem that I saw whilst waiting was that customers were totally ignoring this and there were at least 8 people who walked right passed my face to go in where they shouldn’t! I really don’t know what the Cafe can do to combat people’s stupidity, but I found it very unnerving. The tables are, in my opinion exceedingly well spaced out, with what seems like Perspex screens also added between tables, very impressed, well done. The food, generally was very good, the only negative, which I’m afraid is a big negative is serving frozen chips. I do realise that this is a cafe and not a restaurant and my expectations are therefore in line with what to expect from a cafe, however in my opinion no establishment that charges for food should be serving frozen chips. Frozen chips are what you make at home when pressed for time etc, they should absolutely not be served to paying customers. It doesn’t cost a fortune to buy a potato, there are wonderful machines available that will even peel them too.I really hope that you will take my comments on board and consider serving proper chips. The owners obviously seem to care about their establishment and it seems a shame that most other things are of a high standard with attention to detail. Please can you offer proper chips?Thank you.

I arrived shortly after 1-30pm and queues outside the cafe as instructed by the militant youth staff. Twice before entering I was rudely questioned about being in possession of a mask (which I had), and the queue grew bigger with restaurant customers as I waited in vain outside. When I informed the staff of the chaotic queueing system, I was met with bovine looks. After what seemed like an eternity I was allowed to join the queue, and after an unnecessarily long wait I was served watery coffee by a little blond lady. It wasn’t until I reached my seating that I discovered the coffee I bought was in imminent danger (it wasn’t strong enough to defend itself), so I took it back. Upon entering the cafe a militant staff member chirped up “Can I help you Mate?”.....Immediately I told him I wasn’t his “mate” but a customer that was dissatisfied with the poor quality of produce.I asked if it could be done quickly as my wait was unacceptable, and the blond lady behind the counter (that I see other customer reviews mention negatively) commenced to argue the point of my initial long wait. I reminded her I was a customer and invited her to cease debating my wait time and correct her error of the dishwater like coffee she had initially given me. I’m pleased to report that she followed my request. If it is rude staff and weak coffee you are after, this place will not disappoint.

On the plus side the coffee was very nice.We then went to get some ice cream from the “ice cream window” we asked the young lady for 4x ice creams with flakes in (99)She started putting the ice creams in the little stand for us to help ourselves. At this point they didn’t have any flakes in them, so I reminded the lady serving that we wanted flakes. Her reply was “yes I know, I only have 1 pair of hands” I thought this was rather rude but I didn’t reply. I took my ice creams and I will not be returning to this establishment.

So disappointed to see what has happened to what was once a nice friendly cafe. The only thing it has going for it now is the location. The staff are rude, inefficient and the customer is certainly the last thing on their mind. When I visited last week I witnessed the staff humilating a poor man who was unable to stand in the very slow moving queue any longer and he was sitting on a chair that some kind customer had got for him. The small blonde woman started shouting across the cafe that he had no right to take the chair and she was trying to protect her customers against Covid. I feel that this must be against the Disability Discrimination Act. The tables were not clean by any stretch of the imagination, so they weren't Covid Compliant and the toilets were far from clean. The staff, including the young lad and the two blonde women definitely need a lesson in customer service and a hygeine course. Such a shame, we used to love going here, but doubt we will be back!!!!

Awful experience at this cafe with terrible service. I visited with my small child at a busy time. I wasn’t able to get a table first as it was just the two of us and I couldn’t leave her on a table on her own. After ordering the food I was told I needed a number and couldn’t have the food without a number. I was also told everyone else had managed to give a number. There was nothing to tell me this before I queued up. The lady was very rude and I felt like just walking out at that point. The system itself is chaotic and there’s no sign saying masks are needed hence some people were wearing them some not. I definitely won’t be coming here again!

Delicious food! We returned the next day after our first visit. Very impressed with all the sanitising stations and floor map I think they have made a great effort to make the cafe secure. Would recommend for breakfast and lunch

The cafe has covid signs up but it is quite poor. It's not managed at all. People with no masks are everywhere using the wrong entrance/exit. Staff just ignoring it.Also the decaf coffee is tasteless not acceptable for the prices charged. Very disappointed and won't be back.

What a shambles!! Totally disorganised cafe in regards to COVID ruling and the blonde lady was extremely rude and couldn’t cope. She kept giving out contradictory instructions leaving people in the queue totally confused. She created and awful atmosphere, would not recommend!

I thought I'd just been a bit unlucky but I've been to this cafe quite a few times now and the staff are consistently grumpy, difficult and rude. From reading other reviews it appears to be a theme. I wanted to support local cafes like this one but they've lost my business for good.

The setting was lovely, but the older gentleman who worked there was quite rude, I know there are procedures that need to be in place due to covid, but he was just wanting to show his authority and was quite happy to make my elderly mum get up twice, once being to put up an umbrella which we didn’t want! We overheard him telling the young girl who worked there to move us just to put it up! The site said it was open at 10am so we was there a little before..It didn’t open until 10.30

Food is tasty but portions are small making what you actually get a little overpriced. Staff are friendly, service is prompt. Ordering area is a little chaotic as social distancing is hard to follow. But once at the table all is well.

Have to agree with yesterday's review. Went to the cafe today and the food is lovely and the cafe is in a lovely location. The younger staff are pleasant and helpful but the middle aged blonde lady is rude and unhelpful and spoils the whole experience. If you don't like working in a cafe and dealing with the general public - get another job!

Lovely situated cafe. Such a shame that the staff have a bad attitude and are unhelpful. Especially the small blonde lady who spoke to myself and my husband in a very rude manner and commented to other members of staff to ‘hurry up’ Very unprofessional Not very clean outside either and a filthy dirty bowl of stagnant water for the dogs!

We have been visiting this cafe for a few years now. During the winter we love to come here and enjoy the spectacular view. It is always busy and in the summer it is heaving. Lots of outdoor seating and dogs are welcome. It is not the cheapest cafe but the food and drinks are very good and there are plenty of healthy options and also a vegan and vegetarian menu. Service is good by a lovely team of young staff. Special thanks to Heather who makes the best extra hot skinny latte in the world all with a lovely smile. There is plenty of varied seating inside and it is very clean with a nice atmosphere. The menu is very varied from simple drinks to Sunday lunch. If you want to brighten your day then visit the Beach Cafe.

Regular visitor to Beach cafe, can't find fault with the food and drinks, prices are higher than other simular establishments, probably because of the council charging extortionate rents / rates due to the location, and the subsidised free car parking the owners provide in the red bays, which I hasten to add many people use and do not frequent the cafe, the lads and lasses waiting on do a very good job, in customer service considering some of the most obnoxious, ignorant and downright arrogant people they have to deal with during the holiday season to which we have been witness to.The 2 blonde lasses who work the front counter, ice cream sales and take orders have the patience of saints, again we have seen first hand customers pig ignorant attitude when placing an order, especially when they can't be bothered to remember the table they are sat at but expect the staff to be mind readers, Sheila and Rachel do a first class job, especially Sheila, who has been front of house for many a year, So next time you think you've been spoken or treated inappropriately look at how you approached them.

Eat here quite often and can honestly say ive never had a bad meal or snack as i can remember. Always spotlessly clean the small lady who seems to be in charge of the counter is always so helpful, cheerful and polite. Just one thing to point out to the owners though i always used to have a bacon butty but since you have changed your rolls from fresh to frozen i dont have one anymore as i cant stand them. Pointless speaking to the grumpy old manager as he just ignores you. Otherwise wonderful job pls keep it up xx

We have called in here a few times. It is in a good position with plenty of parking, we have usually had a long walk so call for a cake & cuppa on way back. The food is good & the waiting on staff very friendly, the counter staff need to learn how to be welcoming & polite. We called last Sat & the lady who served me was definitely not friendly!! So much so that I said to my husband I don’t want to come here again! We will find somewhere else.

Came here for lunch yesterday and, in line with other reviews, found some of the staff to be bordering on rude... we wanted to eat at one of the tables on the lawn but because it didn’t have a table number they wouldn’t allow us to order - give the tables a number then!!! The queue to be given this information was around 30 mins so not impressed - fortunately a table with a number vacated so we were able to eat but to be honest we wished we hadn’t. The chilli burger and chips was not the best, tasted like it had been cooked in very old fat and my partner felt unwell quite soon after eating. Such a shame because it’s a great location and could be excellent - but it isn’t (and not cheap either!). We’d go for a cup of tea and a piece of cake but would never eat here for lunch again.

It was always nice to come here with friends for our Sunday breakfast not anymore! Waited 30 mins for poached eggs for my friend to be served first due to a mix up with tables by the staff, when questioned the response was ‘don’t have a go at me it’s not my fault’ wow! Then when the breakfast did arrive the waiter brought out a copy of the order with the incorrect table number and said Iv been told to show you this !! For what benefit to prove a customer wrong of your incompetent staff who couldn’t get the table number. At what point do you think this is customer service & how does it take 30 mins to get the order out after everyone else had finished there.

It is a simple cafeteria. Firstly, you have to find a table and then you queue at the counter to order your food and drinks. The drinks you take to your table on a tray but if you have ordered meals they are eventually delivered to your table.

Looked online to check opening times before going and all said open at 09:00. Arrived at the cafe just after 9 and door was locked with a closed sign on it. Waited a few minutes as thought they were running a bit late for opening which was OK. My partner then asked through the open window around the side what time they were open and he got the reply '9 O'clock' 'Oh it's seven minutes past now' was my partners reply to the person who had replied, who didn't respond further. We waited a few more minutes until someone unlocked the front door and turned the sign around from closed to open then just let the door slam shut. No communication or apology from this member of staff for not opening on time, which we both thought was very rude and didn't make us feel like we wanted to part with our money to a place whose employees obviously weren't bothered. We decided to take our custom to Toby carvery for one of their buffet breakfasts which is only 5 minutes away. We then came back to the lake for a walk around and had a lovely drink from the RSPB visitor centre and a lovely chat with the staff there.
