First time diners (family of 4) and definitely won’t be our last.
The food was delicious, well presented and customer service was excellent.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, which in itself is an achievement and we’re looking forward to our next visit.
Overall a refreshingly pleasurable dining experience and although not inexpensive was very good value for the price.
Don’t often feel motivated to post reviews. However, on this occasion I felt I just had to.
I met up with friends in this coffee area on a regular basis and usually choose to have a decaf Flat White. It’s normally ok, not the best, but drinkable. My son is a barista of note so I do know what a flat white should and shouldn’t be.
After my first mouthful I instantly put cup down as it made me feel a little sick. As mentioned previously, this was not normal. One look at the coffee I could tell it was not a flat white. It was very very weak and insipid. Had no taste of coffee at all. When someone brought other drinks to our table, I I told the lady that I thought I must have been given the wrong drink and explained. She got me another one. It was very marginally better but I could tell it was not a true flat white and nothing like the flat white I have previously had at Okells. I could only force myself to drink about half a cup, if that.
I have no idea what has changed but I shall no longer be having a flat white at this establishment.
This is a well kept traditional pub in which I enjoyed the ambience and had some good interaction with and service from the staff. Appreciated the good quality beer and general positive environment.
Food was excellent very hot and tasty also reasonably priced. Friendly helpful staff will definitely recommend to family and friends and will be going again soon.
There's a very good reason that this ice cream parlour has been in business since 1937, and the quality of their ice cream says it all. I've wanted to come here for a long time, and it's been wo the wait - I hope to return to try other flavours - but sitting on the sea wall in the crisp winter sunshine, looking out over the estuary with a tub of rum and raisin in hand - well, as the old saying used to go, I wouldn't call the king my uncle. ;-)
The staff are polite and friendly, and the interior nicely unspoilt ; apart from the delicious ice cream there is confectionery, plus local postcards etc.
The hotel is currently being refurbished and the restaurant is now closed until further notice. When we looked on the website this was not mentioned so we had a wasted trip
We waited one hour for the food to arrive even though there was nobody else was there. It was 3 degrees outside and the heating was off so I ate my lunch with my coat on. The food was nice when it arrived.

May I just say that was the best coronation chicken baguettes i have ever eaten in my whole life. Service was good and lady behind counter was pleasant and welcoming. Didn't feel like a standard bakery shop.
Loads of variety and from what it appears all seemed fresh and made daily.
Inside area was not that big but atmosphere was warm and inviting.
Can't wait to try your other options.
We went for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and weren't disappointed. All of the five star reviews are definitely spot on. The food was lovely. Best Sunday roast I've had for a very long time. Advisable to book as it does get busy and you really won't want to walk in and smell the food only to miss out!
The old place was amazing with the funky beast but I love the new place but the new
Place is kinda worse now cos they made the small medium large to regular large XLarge it’s the same but they changed the names
