Visited again for their excellent Sunday roast dinner. 3 had the Beef and Yorkshire pud and one had the lamb. Served with tray of fresh vegetables, we asked instead of new potatoes can we have peas, no issue at all. Loafs fabulous tasting gravy and everything was delicious. We all had pudding, two had the sticky toffee pudding one with ice cream and the other with pouring cream. I had the apple pie and custard and other had the ice cream sundae. Service with a smile and has to be the best value Sunday roast and puds in Neston area.

Brilliant local pub . Wish I lived closer . Staff are very welcoming . Much better than any weather spoons or green king . And to be honest I’d rather spend my money here than at some over priced gastro pub . The chips are much better than any gastro pub anyway .

The royal oak is a proper pub, with a nice friendly atmosphere and fun banter. Food is great value, the menu has something to suit all tastes, prices are very good, staff are lovely and friendly and go the extra mile. Well worth a visit if in the area, we went for Sunday lunch and each of the group enjoyed their meal, puddings are a must. No queuing at the bar to order food, it's table service. Will be back soon for another feast

Ate again at the Oak - food is all home cooked and is excellent. Steak meal is the best value on the Wirral. Under £15 for Rump steak, mushrooms, the best homemade chips you will taste, paid extra for peppercorn sauce - cooked as you like it. 3 of us had the steak and one had the cod and chips - the cod is excellent. we all had puddings to follow - super value - included the Sundae, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate fudge cake. Service friendly and car park on site.

Fabulous Sunday dinner again at the Royal Oak. We both had the beef - comes with roasties and Yorkshire pudding. Served separately - new potatoes and 2 veg plus gravy boat with fabulous gravy. Nice friendly atmosphere and such good value with no compromise on quality or portion size. Puddings only £3.25 each - amazing value. I had Rhubarb and apple crumble with custard and husband had sticky toffee pudding - both tasted fabulous. Large car park and seating areas at front and back with children's play area. We went with a friend for her birthday. The staff were lovely and friendly with great banter. I ordered the liver and onions. The liver was beautifully cooked, tender and moist. The mash was a little bit dry. Needed a splash of milk in it or a knob of butter to cheer it up. The gravy was weak, needed more thickness. Not enough gravy either to put on the mash. Perhaps 4 ⭐ a little harsh but not worth 5 and nothing in-between. I would go back but would ask for fluffy mash and extra thicker gravy next time. The others said their meals were nice and all said good portion sizes.

Called in for Lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the warm and cheerful welcome. Presented with the menus ( our friends had been here before and were pleased with the large quantities). We chose 2 liver and onions served with Potato mash and gravy. 1 chicken curry with pilau rice, and 1 Gammon and eggs. All 4 of dishes were cooked to perfection and the quantities were certainly enough for us not to eat anything in the evening. Do give the Royal Oak a try.

We are four friends who enjoy sharing days out and pub lunches. The Royal Oak in Neston is a very nice place to visit. The bar man Rob is an absolutely delightful member of staff. He was funny, efficient and a great asset to the establishment. However our food, though tasty and well cooked was missing several of the listed items described on the menu. The lasagne did not come with the two slices of garlic bread as per menu, the liver bacon and onions came without bacon or onions and one of the smothered chicken had no mushrooms. On the plus side all the puddings were delicious. The lack of ingredients did not spoil our meal or our day out, but it’s wrong to misrepresent the menu. The chef needs to pay attention.

On June 6th 2021 my wife and I spent a few hours walking along the Dee Estuary. We decided to lunch in Neston (never been there before) and stopped at the first pub we found. Sadly that pub was not serving food and suggested a range of local places we could try but then added that the best place to eat was the Royal Oak. They gave us directions and on arrival there was only one small table available. We decided on the Sunday roast (beef and Yorkshire pudding) and it was fantastic, vegetables arrived separately together a jug of extra gravy. The waitress then said that extra gravy or vegetables are available if we wanted them and left us to enjoy one of the best pub meals we have had for years. We eat out regularly and will definitely be paying another visit I the near future however next time we will book a table in advance.

Pre-Christmas lunch was OK but quality of vegetables was poor as was stuffing. Best thing was decent turkey and the very generous portions of meat and veg. Also all a bit lukewarm. So called trifle was fairly disgusting, probably great for a youngster but not an adult that loves puddings.Only one hand-pulled real ale but fortunately it was Doom Bar!! Speed of service was good but the meal selections were pre-ordered. The pub ambience is dingy and in dire need of a makeover...very old-fashioned but in a tatty kind of way. At the end of the day it is what you like personally..this place is not for me.

Attended Saturday night quiz. Arrived at 7:00pm. Started with a glass of red wine and Mediterranean platter followed by a to die for cheesecake( all food freshly cooked by Jason ( chef ) and the team. Wolfed the cheese cake down and realised I hadn't took a picture. Had a few more vino's during the quiz along with some banter with Jason and the regular customers. All tables were booked and nice to see a full house. Made a change to the average Saturday night and will certainly do it again. Would recommend to call in prior for some brekky or lunch to book quiz any day before or on Saturday. Quiz moved on quicker than your normal pub quiz which was great with the light banter and no typical interruptions from pub scene. Didn't win the quiz but enjoyed trying.

Stumbled on this wonderful cafe as we were on our way home from a camping trip. The staff are incredibly friendly and were so welcoming and kind to my 5yo daughter. The food was amazing, we both had the breakfast and my daughter had a lunch box which she loved and I thought it was great value, when we went inside to pay we couldn't not buy one (or two) of the amazing cakes. So delicious. Thank you :)

Our favourite place to come for brunch after football. The team, as always, went above and beyond with the orders for our family (all with different dietary requirements). The boys had the classic big breakfast with local products at a great price. I tried the weekend special eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The boys filled their boots. The girls enjoyed new things. The doorstop toast alone is worth the visit. Sadly, no room for my favourite one the menu - parsnip cake, but the cake-away option meant I could enjoy it later. We brought a friend for their first visit and she was blown away.

Not religious at all but like other reviewers found this true OASIS when looking for refreshment in Chester Just great, lovely staff and clientele and great quality and value coffee and cakes... Interesting selection of books, gifts, cards etc Would use regularly if we lived locally Staff say they may have to relocate soon due to "commercial development of the site" Surely the Church which is not short of funds can provide an alternative venue for this wonderful place which probably does more for spreading the religious message than many more traditional churches etc...something in the Cathedral Precinct maybe?? Good luck to you all and God bless ( if it helps)
