Kanya Cafe Bar & Bistro in Cheshire West and Chester

I used Kanya for my 50th Birthday party. I cannot even begin to say how amazing and professional they were. Everyone has doubts whether they catered for enough people and will it be good, etc., before their event. Nobody needs to worry about anything when Kanya are in the lead! All guests commented on how amazing the food was , and having a mum with allergies, who never can normally enjoy anything , they looked after her with her own gluten and dairy free menu! I cannot recommend Kanya Cafe Restaurant and Bistro highly enough for their outside catering service and I l will use them again and again! Absolutely amazing and thank you all at Kanya and to Nagendra and Monika for such fabulous service.

I wanted to thank Kanya Bistro and Bar for hosting the most amazing christening day for our little boy today. Every member of the team are just brilliant and couldn’t do enough for us, the food was fantastic with plenty for everyone. Such a great venue for an event for both adults and kids. We won’t hesitate using Kanya for an event again. We have also been in numerous times for brunch and lunch and have always had a brilliant meal. Not only is the food fantastic and the staff so welcoming for the adults they also always make our children feel so welcome too which makes the whole eating out with the kid’s experience a lot more enjoyable. Thank you to Nagendra, Monika and the team!

We booked Kanya for exclusive use for an afternoon family celebration and can’t praise the staff and chef highly enough. Although there were set menus available, Nagendra and Monika were prepared to be versatile and tailor the menu to our requirements. On the day, everything went to plan, the food was excellent, the staff were helpful and attentive, and family and friends were impressed with the venue and facilities. Having dined at Kanya previously for breakfast and lunch and now for a family celebration, I can thoroughly recommend the venue for any occasion

Held my daughter’s 30th birthday party there last night the whole evening was perfect from start to finish. It would be insulting to call them staff because Kanya were more like hosts inviting us into their home. Thank you so much for a great night

Best Indian dishes in town as ingredients are top quality. Good portions.

Decided to try here on a Saturday night as I had eaten at the old place years ago and was really nice. The place itself is a bit odd as it's the ground floor underneath an apartment block so doesn't really feel like a restaurant. It's nice enough inside with decent furniture and very clean but feels more like a community centre hall. Ordered mains only and it took 45 mins to arrive which I think is a bit too long especially when they weren't full. Food nice enough. We both had biriyani. Meat cooked to perfection and plenty of it but served very weird all in a pot with the rice mixed in. It also comes with no curry sauce so would be dry without it. You pay an extra £2.50 each for a small separate bowl with curry sauce in and then have to tip this on the food. I can't fault the quality of the food but I think a biryani anywhere else would come with the sauce. It's a shame as there aren't that many places to eat out in Northwich but the place just has no atmosphere really so wouldn't return.

Called in for breakfast and it was excellent Slightly more expensive than other places in the area that do breakfast but it was quality Nice large new relaxing restaurant layout.

Lovely, relaxed atmosphere. I met a friend who I hadn't seen for a long time. The staff didn't rush us and said we could stay as long as we wanted. Can't praise the staff enough and the food was delicious. I will be a regular from now on, it will definitely be my 'go to place'.

Incredible food, venue and service. Staff were very attentive and handled an unexpected fire alarm really well. The international menu is fantastic and caters for all tastes and preferences… theres a nice mix of traditional and more inspirational dishes. The food was also really well presented and tasted of quality. Ambient and tidy setting. Reasonably priced. I was only visiting the area but I would absolutely return again.

Ate here for the 1st time at night and really enjoyed the food, the service was excellent and the toilets were spotless. Would definitely eat here again.

Booked here tonight expecting a curry from K2H which has sadly merged with another restaurant… Kanya. Disappointing to say the least. The menu is very strange with mixed cuisines that just don’t work. If you’re looking for a curry house which is what K2H was and known for, this is not the place to go. The website lists curries galore but the menu says completely different. We ordered the thali and non veg sizzler. Both underwhelming. I even had to ask for a plate to eat off! The decor is like sitting in a hotel lobby, surrounded by large sofas/chairs and TVs on the wall. Very odd place and would not recommend.

Easily one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Visited with friends to try the new international dinner menu and had an amazing time. Every dish we had was exceptional and I can't wait to come back. Great little hidden gem in the heart of Northwich and is highly recommended.

What a fabulous place to eat, the place itself has a great relaxing feeling about it and the decor is classy and clean. I had breakfast here twice in a week and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. The quality of the food is first class along with the service from helpful staff who are friendly and happy. Over all a first class experience and will definitely be recommending to family and friends.

I would just like to say what outstanding waiting on staff you have. Can't fault them one bit. They are polite, kind, courteous and always, always cheerful and friendly. Big shout out to them and amazing work!

Really lovley food at any time of the day. Very clean place with the best coffee in town. Great service and the staff take time to chat. Perfect place and definitely the best in town.

We took my sister for lunch to KANYA Bistro yesterday 7th February, wow what a surprise, staff were excellent, very attentive. We didn’t know anything existed like that in Northwich. You can go and sit down in armchairs with a coffee. My sister who’s birthday it was had ham & cheese omelette with salad and a basket of chips freshly done, me and my other sister had roast beef & onion bap that included a basket of chips all delicious, the coffees too cappuccino x2 & a latte were lovely. We all said we would go again. The decor was lovely and spotless.

Absolute lovely food. Always get takeaway breakfasts and came for takeaway lunch today. Cajun chicken ciabatta and wrap. We’re absolutely beautiful and really nice presented. Staff are always so friendly and accommodating especially the young girl that always host / on the till. We will be back soon

Pretty miserable experience today. Food was cold, Yorkshires were rock hard, beef was tough as shoe leather, mash felt like it had been reheated in a microwave (for not long enough). Not an enjoyable experience at all. Won't be visiting again.

Went for breakfast for the first time, excited to try the food. Unfortunately, after a 30 minute wait we asked where our order was (as only 2 others eating in there) to be told they hadn’t processed the order!! Two ladies serving hadn’t even noticed no food was being prepared for us. Needless to say we got our coats and left. Very disappointed, and such a shame because the food may have been amazing.

Staff are really lovely, tasty food and drink and super fresh. We come here sometimes with my boy and he loves the scrambled egg. They’ve moved location to somewhere really quiet and it’s just so chilled to enjoy a nice coffee.

Visited this morning with my mum and sister as a bit of treat - it's the first time we've been to the new premises.Breakfast was absolutely delicious with good quality produce and excellent presentation. Service was fab with friendly and attentive servers and the cafe itself is beautifully decorated, modern, light, clean and comfortable.We will be back!

Absolutely disgusted with the service from Kanya today. My husband and I order every week from this restaurant and spend over £100 every month. I ordered a Kanya Deluxe which is fresh smoked salmon with scrambled egg. The way it was delivered on the plate meant the salmon was cooked by the egg. Anyone who knows this type of dish knows the salmon should not be cooked! I phoned to ask for a replacement and I was point blank refused. The lady on the phone ( the manager) was rude and even when I pointed out how often we spend with them she still refused to replace the meal. My family run a chain of restaurants throughout the UK so I know what good customer service is. Poor customer service happens anytime your business fails to meet a customer’s expectations. It could be the quality of service your customer received, how long it takes for you to answer their phone call, or just their overall experience with your brand. This is what happened in this case. A result of bad customer service as you should be aware, is customers moves their business to a competitor and unhappy customers tell friends and family about their negative experience. More importantly, you lose money. For the sake of an £8.50 replacement you have just lost £100 of revenue per month. When my husband called back the manager she even put the phone down on him. Nagendra Prasad I would welcome a candid conversation regarding this!

Not a lot to say say apart from after reading the post in the guardian from the 6th Oct. I find myself bemused at a couple of the statments from the owner, 1st one is that it has always been called Kanya from day one of opening long time before Nagendra, 2nd one it was NEVER a greasy spoon cafe and I think a lot of people will agree, Good luck

Tonight we decided to order a roast dinner takeaway from Kanya as a treat. We have ordered before during the first lockdown. Once again, very impressed. The roast dinners are delicious and such great value for money. Big portion size and arrives hot and ready to eat. Would definitely recommend.

What a beautiful venue for a delicious afternoon tea, such friendly staff. What a bargain with the current two for one offer!

First time at the new premises, it’s a lovely light relaxed space. Would be great for events as well as a meal out. I took my laptop to work from there for the day so I had breakfast and lunch. Staff were very attentive despite it being newly open. Food was delicious and generous portions. A great hideaway from the hustle and bustle.

Visited the new premises of Kanya this morning with my wife for breakfast and it was brilliant. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was served quickly and excellent quality. Was great value for money.The restaurant would be suitable for any type of situation, either in a large group or just solo

Tasty, fresh and well presented afternoon tea at a reasonable price. Good selection of sandwiches and cakes. Lemon drizzle cake yummy and melted in your mouth. Relaxed atmosphere and all staff professional and very friendly. Hand sanitizer on all tables. We will be going back for lunch too, as dishes coming from the kitchen looked delicious. This is the second time we've visited here and I can still say that it was every bit as good as the first time. The food is great and the staff really friendly. Well worth a visit if you're passing even if it's just for a drink.

We have had some really quality food delivered from kanya over the past 8 months or so. Ordered our breakfast on my day of work last week. Specified, well done sausages. The breakfast turned up, the eggs looked like they had been chucked at a wall, sausages were not cooked in the middle, half of the toast was more like warm bread. For the price we we're not happy at all. We got in touch with Kenya, what a total waste of time not interested. So I'm afraid I'm sharing my experience with the public. Until then we had food delivered from kanya on a regular basis. Never again!

mum and i enjoyed an excellent lunch. nothing was to much trouble. i would highly recomend it. the food is ecellent and reasonably priced.

It is my favourite option for breakfast whenever we go to a restaurant, but unfortunately not many places seem to make it now. So it's lovely to have somewhere not far from where we live that makes Eggs Benedict.... and a flippin' fantastic one at that!! 😋

Food is ALWAYS VERY WELL PRESENTED and ALWAYS HOT AND TASTY. The service from the girls is always friendly and attentive.Breakfasts, Lunch and I've even had an afternoon tea here and it's always were nice.The Only place to eat and drink in northwich with a good standard of service, setting and staff.The restaurant is ALWAYS clean and tidy. Had breakfast with my daughter last week. Food was fine and a nice environment is provided. However £20.80 for two plates and two drinks is a bit excessive I think.

Loved my Italian Chicken Chiabatta sandwich and chocolate milkshake.

Excellent lunch home made burger well presented ,staff very attentive.

Popped in for lunch with friends without any real knowledge of this bistro. We had a great lunch ... tasty burgers and a wonderful chicken fajita. prices are reasonable and the service was good. Definitely recommended.

Please give me a👍 if my review is helpful. First visit to Kanya Bistro and with lockdown in force, only outside. Very pleasant set-up with comfortable chairs in a traffic free pedestrian zone. Our waitress was very quick and also friendly. Based on today's experience I will be returning for a meal inside when restrictions are lifted.

Lovely lunch and friendly service. Can definitely recommend the Italian chicken and the grilled goats cheese and caramelised onion hot ciabattas 😊

Don’t bother with the carvery baps. £6 for a cheap and tasteless bap. There’s no excuse when they are only offering a limited menu due to covid.

That was an amazing chicken and beef roast (my partner had the beef). Really well cooked, such great flavours and mahoosive Yorkshire puddings 😃 Plus the delivery was also 10/10. He (sorry didn't get his name) presented me with a rose for the lady of the house and was super happy which put a smile on my face to start the day. Highly recommend.

I ordered the egg and mayonnaise sandwiches, without the cress; they were delicious, as when I ate the same meal three months ago during the last lockdown. I look forward to returning when the restaurant is fully open. Staff very friendly.

We ordered Indian food from Kanya as a Saturday night lockdown delivery and it exceeded expectations. We ordered 4 different dishes to try as we haven't ordered from here before and all the dishes were delicious. We will definitely order from here again.

Me and my girlfriend ordered delivery breakfast today. I had a breakfast buttie she had a smoked salmon and avocado sandwich. The salmon came grey and looked like doner meat, we complained and wanted one sending out fresh. They refused and said there's nothing wrong with it.We then had too drive down town and front them ourselfs. They refused too be understanding and helpful, they refused any type of refund then called the police on me too remove them from the restaurant.Never in my life has a group of staff been so rude and disrespectful in all my life

Had a lovely afternoon tea, sandwiches made to order and well filled. Scones with loads of cream, jam and strawberries. Cheesecake, lemon drizzle cake and marble cake. All fresh and tasty, tea was hot. Good service. Definitely worth a visit

During the new lockdown it was possible to talk in and order, and I did so, being warmly welcomed. I requested an egg sandwich with hand-cut chips and a J2O. Both were prepared promptly, and were delicious. In particukar the eggs were very tasty, a far cry from pre-packed sandwiches from a shop.I look forward to returning to this venue again after lockdown in December.

Popped in for lunch. Ordered jacket potato with bacon and egg mayo, got a lovely large spud with big pieces of bacon and fabulous chunky eggs. Very delicious and all Covid safeguards in place. Definitely my favorite place for lunching in Northwich

First time i have visited for lunch. Food and service excellent will definately eat here again.

Unexpectedly in Northwich on a Saturday afternoon, I wished to have something to eat, and noted a number of cafes along the high street, most of which did not have a menu on display to attract customers. Fortunately, I finally encountered the Kanya, and was warmly welcomed when stepping inside. Although the breakfast was listed as finishing at noon, the waitress kindly made this available to me at 1400hrs. It was delicious, and well worth the sum charged. Staff were well-turned out, friendly and efficient, and I will certainly have a meal here again when I am in the town.

Great food, social distance and tracking all followed

Tried this cafe for the first time and found it was actually quite good. Good menu, food was straight forward but lovely quality. We were the only people in there on Sunday I would think because of Covid as the town was very quiet too so no atmosphere to speak of and service just ok but otherwise well worth a trip especially with kids to feed. We’ll be back.

After 3 months of not going out it was wonderful to go out for lunch. I was impressed with the food, with the organisation that had gone in to ensuring that everyone was made to feel safe. And the excellent staff. Well done to everyone involved.

We visited Kanya today, the first time they have been open for eat in service since Covid 19, and it was fantastic as always. We did try a take out lunch a week or so ago which was amazing too.The team have worked incredibly hard to ensure everything is safe as it can be. They have a nice little system where there is a ‘serving table’ next to a table you eat at where your food and drink is placed for you to get ensuring both customers and staff are safely distanced.Breakfast was excellent, staff were great - it was fantastic to see you back.Give Kanya a go, you won’t be disappointed.

We visited for breakfast on a Friday morning whilst staying with friends. The breakfast was nice we had the Vegan and Vegetarians Sausages and cheese on Toast. One thing you could benefit from is offering wholemeal or seeded bread it would have enhanced the breakfast instead of serving plain run of the mill white sliced. Other than that the breakfast was good, service a little lacking the bistro was not busy but the wrong drinks were brought to our table. We will return to try again, but room for improvement, given the price.

My partner and I used to come here regularly, but it has been some time since we've been. Our visit for breakfast today was disappointing. It was a very cold morning, but the restaurant itself wasn't particularly warm. I used to be asked if I wanted hot or cold milk with my coffee, but today I was given cold. This meant the coffee cooled immediately. We ordered eggs Benedict and my first egg appeared to have no yolk, on investigation I realised the yolk had broken and run onto the plate and been covered up with the hollandaise sauce. I was unable to eat all of my meal as it became cold very quickly, due to the plates being really cold. The young lady serving was very friendly, but I'm afraid it didn't make up for the cold food.

Been there several times, love especially their soups, and I found the service very efficient. But they do have more options!
